ἐνδοξάζω: 1 aorist passive ἐνεδοξασθην; "to make ἔνδοξος, to glorify, adorn with glory" (Vulg.glorifico,clarifico): in passive 2Th_1:12; ἐνδοξασθῆναι ἐν τοῖς ἁγίοις, that his glory may be seen in the saints, i. e. in the glory, blessedness, conferred on them, 2Th_1:10. (Exo_14:4; Eze_28:22, etc.; Sir_38:6. Not found in secular authors.)

For this verb, found in the NT only in 2Th_1:10 ; 2Th_1:12 , but common in the LXX (e.g. Exo_14:4 , Psa. 88꞉ 8 [MT Psa_89:8 ]. cf. P Leid W xi. 7 (ii/iii A.D.), an invocation to the Sun οὗ ἡ δόξα . . . ὅτι διά σ᾽ ( l. σε ) ἐνεδοξάσθη ( l. θην ).
