"in need, indigent", Xen. , Plat. , etc. "lacking, deficient", mostly in comp., Hdt. , Thuc. ; τινι "in" a thing, id=Thuc. :— τὸ ἐνδεές "lack, want, defect, deficiency", id=Thuc.
