We can quote the derived abstract from Vettius Valens, p. 2 .3 τυφώδεις , ἀποκρύπτοντας τὴν δολιότητα , αὐστήρους κτλ . The verb δολιόω (LXX and NT), not found in prof. writ. , was easily formed when wanted, but whether the translator of Num_25:18 was the first to coin it no one can say.
