Field ( Notes , p. 88) points out that the preposition must not be pressed, as in Joh_4:15 RV; all that it implies is merely that a certain distance is to be traversed , whether long or short, cf. Luk_2:15 , Act_9:32 . But this does not involve ignoring the difference between the compound and the AV simplex : the RV exaggeration is slight, and very effective. Ramsay Exp V. i. p. 385 ff. argues that δ . in Ac implies missionary travel.
