δεύτερος [page 143] For δεύτερον = in the second place, as in 1Co_12:28 , cf. In P Tebt II. 297 .19 ( c. A.D. 123) we find ἐγ δευτέρου = a second time, as in Mar_14:72 al. OGIS 299 .17 ( c. B.C. 170) τῆι δεύτερον ἡμέραι is defended by Kaibel ap. Dittenberger in loc. , appealing to IMAe I. 155 .28 τᾶι δεύτερον ἁμέραι μετὰ τὰ ἱερά , and the analogy of τῷ ὕστερον ἔτει and ἡ σήμερον ἡμέρα . In MGr δευτέρα is Monday (ἡ δεύτερη = 2nd, fem. of δεύτερος and sharing its accent).
