Moulton & Milligan — Vocabulary of the Greek NT
βραδυπλοέω [page 117]
This ἅπ .εἰρ . of Act_27:7 , cited by Grimm only from Artemidorus (ii/A.D.), is the subject of a note by W. Montgomery in Exp VIII. ix. p. 357. He suggests that it is a technical term, to slow-sail, meaning to work to windward by tacking. Though found earliest in the We -document, it is quite certainly no coinage of the author. In Artemidorus it is not technical, but only denotes a slow voyage.
