Stuart Olyott (1942–) is a British Christian preacher, pastor, and author, widely respected within evangelical and Reformed circles for his clear, powerful expository preaching and his commitment to biblical truth. Born in Sichuan Province, West China, to missionary parents who fled during the Communist takeover, Olyott grew up in England and came to faith at age 15 through an evangelistic youth camp near Manchester. After training at London Bible College, he earned a B.D. from the University of London, later receiving an M.A. from the University of Liverpool and a Th.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana. Olyott’s preaching career began in 1964 at Poplar Baptist Church in London, followed by significant pastorates at Belvidere Road Church in Liverpool (1967–1982 and 1991–1999), where his sermons gained international reach through recordings. Between these periods, he preached in French in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 1982 to 1991, pioneering churches in France and Switzerland. Since 1999, semi-retired, he has served as Pastoral Director of the Evangelical Movement of Wales and an elder at Christ Church in Deeside, North Wales, while lecturing globally and aiding struggling churches. Married to Doll in 1970 until her death in 2017, he has eight sons and numerous grandchildren.
