Stephen C. Perks (1956–) is an English Christian preacher, author, and director of the Kuyper Foundation, known for his work in promoting a comprehensive Christian worldview rooted in Reformed theology. Born in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, he grew up in a context that shaped his later focus on applying faith to all areas of life. Though specific details about his early education are sparse, Perks emerged as a self-taught scholar and thinker, eventually ordained as a Presbyterian minister and evangelist in 1990. He now resides near Taunton, Somerset, and is a member of the Church of England, reflecting a journey through various ecclesiastical traditions. Perks founded the Kuyper Foundation, serving as its director and editor of its journal, Christianity & Society. His preaching and writing emphasize the lordship of Christ over culture, politics, economics, and education, drawing heavily from Abraham Kuyper’s vision of sphere sovereignty. He has lectured globally—across Britain, Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa—on topics ranging from theology to legal history, and authored books like A Defence of the Christian State and Christian Philosophy of Education Explained. Married with three adult children, Perks also composes music, blending his intellectual pursuits with creative expression. His ministry challenges modern secularism and ecclesiastical compromise, advocating a robust, world-transforming faith.
