Possess the Land by Taking Up the Weapons of Jesus

Milton Green · 5:07

To possess the land and live a life pleasing to God, we must take up the weapons of Jesus, which include putting to death the deeds of the flesh, renewing our minds, and conforming to the image of Jesus.
In this sermon, the preacher emphasizes the importance of possessing the land by taking up the weapons of Jesus and being led by the Spirit of God. He explains that living according to the flesh leads to death and judgment, but being led by the Spirit makes Jesus Christ our Lord. The preacher encourages the audience to put to death the deeds of the flesh and renew their minds to be conformed to the image of Jesus. He also highlights the need to repent from criticism and unforgiveness, as these sins create strongholds for the powers of darkness. The sermon emphasizes the importance of living by faith and not just professing belief in Jesus, but also repenting from selfish ambition and following God's will.

You're going to possess the land, and you possess the land by taking up the weapons of Jesus. Ephesians 6, and Romans 8, 12-14. You're no longer in obligation to live ice to flesh, because if you're living ice to flesh, you must die.

Because you're walking on the judgment of God's law. But if you're led by the Spirit of God, that's when Jesus Christ is your Lord. If you're not led by the Spirit of God, you've got another Jesus, and you've got yourself another gospel.

If you're led by the Spirit of God, you're going to put to death the deeds of the body, which is the flesh. And when you put to death the deeds of the flesh up here, look up here, folks. When I choose, the Spirit of God shows me in the Word of God, I've got criticism and lie, lie.

I prove I love the Lord with all my heart. I prove it because I'll choose against criticism, because I love the Lord more. How many of you see that? Hold up your hands.

So when I do that, I'm going to repent from criticism, I'll suffer in a place, but I'll cease from sin. I'm possessing a lamb, because you know what was tied to criticism? A stronghold, powers of darkness. You know what that stronghold? That's the Canaanite nations today.

So when I get rid of that sin right there, and I put it on the blood, and I turn from it right there, that stronghold has to lift off of me. And I'm going in to possess the lamb. I'll go in there and let the Lord, in the Word of God, He's going to show me unforgiveness is there.

I love God more than I do unforgiveness. So I'll repent in my heart of unforgiveness, and when I repent, it's placed on the blood. When it's placed on the blood, God no longer sees me as breaking God's law.

God no longer sees me as breaking His law. When I'm not breaking God's law, the powers of darkness, He could have no ground in me, and He loses His ground. Bang! He's gone.

And I go in and led by the Spirit of God to go in and possess the lamb. And I put to death all these deeds of flesh. And my mind is being renewed.

I'm being conformed to the image of Jesus, and I'm enduring to the end to prove I love the Lord with all my heart. And what happens when I go in and possess that lamb, and a Spirit of God leads me? Now, that's nothing I have to work out. I don't know what's in my heart no more than you.

See, the Word of God judges all the thoughts and intentions of the heart. So the righteous shall live by faith which is led by the Spirit of God. But if you shrink back from the Word of God, do you know why you shrink back from the Word of God in Hebrews 10? You shrink back from the Word of God because there's some things you're loving more than God.

Let me see that. This is the reason Hebrews 10, 26 says, listen to me. If you go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth.

If you go on and practice sin, see when you practice sin, you've proven I love that sin more than I do the Lord. Let me see that. If you practice it, you won't give it up.

You say, I love it more than I do you, Lord. If you go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice. There's no place to put your sin.

Who is a sacrifice? You know, you can't get the sin on the blood because you're walking into defiance and hostility toward God. And so when there's no place to put the sin on the blood, what do you think God's judgment and rascals? God sees you as a lawbreaker and you're destroyed. But a certain fiery expectation of judgment.

And it goes on to explain the same thing happened in the old, it happened when there's an old covenant. Now we just got a better covenant with better promises. They confessed their sins to the priest and they had a blood sacrifice, but we still confessed ours to the priest.

You don't go around practicing sin and obeying. See, that's the reason we got the power of God to follow. And so the righteous shall live by faith.

Faith is not just saying, I believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross to raise him from the dead and walk right straight back out there. That's fellowship evangelism. That's building nickels, noses, and numbers.

That's building and spreading out with fleshly dreams and fleshly visions and fleshly visions bringing people in. A man that hasn't repented from selfish ambition, he has his fleshly dreams and visions and he starts building fleshly achievements and leading people out of fleshly achievements which has no profit against indulgence of the flesh.
