Gifts and Traits of the Holy Spirit

What is the difference between the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit? And then the second part of the question is, am I forgiven if I receive the Holy Spirit, and how do I know if I have it? Thank you for helping me understand the Bible and God. Oh, we thank the Lord Jesus always, my beloved. What is the difference between the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit? A very good question, and it's a very, very beautiful question, I may say.

Well, when we read the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Galatians, Galatians chapter 5, verses 22 to 23, Galatians 5, 22 to 23, Saint Paul talks about the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and the fruits begin with love, followed by joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There are nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, according to the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Galatians, chapter 5, verses 22 to 23. And when we read about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we find that, again, the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Corinthians, 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verses 8 to 10.

1 Corinthians chapter 12, verses 8 to 10, Saint Paul talks about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and to sort of shorten the answer, the first thing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit is wisdom. So, the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The number one thing in the fruits of the Holy Spirit is love, and the number one thing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit is wisdom.

It is absolutely amazing how the Bible is structured so perfectly and profoundly deep in meaning and in accuracy. If anybody asks us a question, who is God and what is God? To define God in a nutshell, in a very simplistic approach, we would say the following. The definition of God is, God is love and wisdom.

God is love and humility. Love, knowledge, humility, wisdom. So, God is love and God is wisdom.

What is the difference between the fruits and the gifts? Very briefly, the fruits of the Holy Spirit, they deliver or save the person who is carrying them. The gifts of the Holy Spirit, they deliver or save the person who receives them. I'll say it again, the fruits of the Holy Spirit, they save the one who carries them, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, they save the one who hears them and acknowledges them and accepts them.

Now, one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is teaching. What is Marmari doing now? He's teaching, he's preaching. This preaching is a gift of the Holy Spirit.

Now, the gift of the Holy Spirit does not save Marmari, but it saves the one who is listening to the Word of God being mentioned through Marmari. When you receive that Word, you believe in the Word and accept the Word, that gift of the Holy Spirit saved you, does not save me. I can preach till kingdom comes.

It's a gift of the Holy Spirit, does not save me. It saves the listeners, those who hear and accept. But the fruits of the Holy Spirit, it saves the one who carries them and apply them in their life.

The number one fruit is love. When you show love to people and all you get back from them is the opposite. You love them, they hate you.

You do good, they return it in evil. And then a lot of us, a lot of us wonder at some stage and we say, until when am I gonna be Mr. Nice Guy? Until when am I gonna show love yet to people who do not appreciate it and maybe do not deserve it? From now on, I will no longer be a loving person, a kind person. I will no longer severe such nonsense.

But one thing, remember, when you show love, when you plant the seed of love, when you bring love to this world, which is without love, you will encounter a lot of obstacles. But blessed is the soul that carries the love of God wherever that soul goes. It does not matter how people perceive it or receive it.

It is, what matters is, do you want to be saved by the Lord Jesus? Do you want to be called the child of God and God be your heavenly father? Well, if you want, then you must show that love. You must live that love. You must share that love with people even though they return it back to you in evilness.

Because the fruit of the Holy Spirit delivers you. So when you show love to someone and they return it with evil, that person matters not. Or the behavior, I should say, the behavior of that person, it matters not.

What matters, you've shown that love, this counts to God. God will reward you accordingly. That person, whatever their behavior is going to be, it is their problem, not yours.

Never ever be sorry for yourself. Never ever be angry with people who return your love with hatred. Don't ever say, I will no longer show love.

Because when you continue showing love, you are reflecting Christ in your life before this whole world. You know, in the book of Ecclesiastes of King Solomon, chapter three, King Solomon talks about there is a time for everything under the sun. Ecclesiastes chapter three, there is a time for everything under the sun.

And he goes on and says, there is a time for one to be born, and there is a time for one to die. There is a time for one to plant, and there is a time for one to harvest what he planted. You see, planting a seed is the beginning of the road.

Harvesting is the end of the road. What King Solomon is trying to teach us here and tell us, that the beginning of the road, you are free in whatever you choose to plant. The beginning of the road, you can plant an orange tree, you can plant an apple tree, you can plant whatever you choose to plant.

You are absolutely free. However, there will come a time, just like there was a time for you to plant a seed, there will come a time 100% that you will harvest, but not what you choose to harvest. You will harvest what you chose to plant in the beginning.

If you want to harvest love, you must plant the seed of love. You cannot plant an orange tree and expect an apple at the end. It's just impossible.

Logically impossible. So whatever you plant, that's what you're going to harvest. So do you want to harvest love? Do you want Jesus to be your portion? You better plant love.

When you're planting love, that seed does not come a fruitful tree overnight. It takes years. It takes a long time for that seed to become a fruitful tree.

Therefore, we need to be patient with what we plant in the beginning of the road. When you're showing love, the fruit of that love, you will harvest it at the end, my beloved, where Jesus is going to say, blessed are you, my loyal servant and son. Welcome to your father's kingdom.

Because for what you have done, this is your reward. You want to be sitting at the right hand of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his glory. Well, you better plant the seed of love and whatever people do back to you, don't be disheartened.

Don't lose hope because that seed 100% a time will come. It will bear fruit and you will harvest the fruit of love because Jesus Christ is God revealed in the flesh. He will make sure the seed you planted will be 100% fruitful at the end.

So the fruit of the Holy Spirit delivers you when you do buy it. But the gifts of the Holy Spirit delivers the listener when they do buy it.
