The Anna Call To Prayer And Fasting

He's this amazing. Can we give the Lord a round of applause? There's no one like the Lord Jesus Christ you may be seated If I do anything well in this message, it is to make much of the Lord Jesus. I Almost thought pastor Ty you were stealing my message because you were just going hard on like but we needed that So, thank you. Thank you for the great introduction. I mean that I love you pastor Greg Can we get pastor Greg pastor Ty and the global vision? Yeah Yes Well, let me just say a few things I don't even like saying a few things before I preach So I want to get straight to the message. I'm wired. I'm ready to run But let me say this to our Pleasant Ridge family that are watching right now More than being here. I love being your pastor. So I just want you to hear that for you guys watching right now James That's right over here And so thank you Amen, amen I told DR DR preached the men's conference the final sermon and it was amazing and he got up and said like it was pretty powerful He's like I would take a bullet for Greg Locke and I thought Lord What could I do for DR and I decided I decided that I could take two bullets for DR Nerf bullets nerf bullets, but I'd take to know I would I mean, that's just the kind of guy I am for you, too all right, so anyway, I Love global vision. I love being a part. I love what God's doing. Let me say this as hot as you are right now I mean, I know you're all fanning and I'm gonna be moving and this is gonna be good But let me tell you something right now. This is way better than everybody who's trapped at this Burning Man festival right now I'm just saying. I mean, we're actually the real Burning Man festival. We're just worshiping the man that hasn't stopped burning since time began so Amen Tonight I want to speak a word to everybody but honestly to a Specific segment in the audience tonight and it can apply to everybody But my laser beam focus is on the next generation tonight, okay I'm gonna be very clear and just so you go, but I'm not I'm not in that group Yeah But you have kids and grandkids that are in that group and I guarantee you more than anything else you want in the world you want God to touch your kids and you want God to touch your grandkids and I guarantee you for many of you in this room The greatest burden that you carry and I understand it too as a parent is for your kids to catch fire And so tonight I'm speaking to the young people and when I'm done speaking tonight I'm gonna invite the young people to come up to be prayed over and to be touched and we'll have a praise party before the main event tonight, which is Mike Signorelli Papa Sigs, that's like a really cool wrestler name and Anyway, I just I love Mike Signorelli and I can't wait for you guys to hear him tonight. Amen Let's just talk to the Lord for a second Lord Jesus, we love you. We love you. We need you Holy Spirit, would you make Jesus come alive in us tonight like never before? Would you give us a? Burning love for the man who has eyes of fire for the one Who came and bled and died and rose again? So that we could be delivered Would you make Jesus famous in this room tonight? He's already famous, but make him the main event the main attraction Jesus is everything Jesus is everything Jesus is everything and it's in that name because there is no other name that we pray I preach we sing we sit we love it's in that name I pray and all God's people said Amen, if you have a Bible take it to the book of Luke chapter number two Luke chapter two and I want to speak to you tonight on the topic of foodless days and sleepless nights foodless days and sleepless Nights, and I want to take you to a obscure Person in the Bible That I believe the Holy Spirit put in your Bible to give some of you Clarity to the vision God has for your life Several years ago. I was wrestling in the ministry About this like, you know For those you in the ministry, you'll get what I'm saying, but there is this tug to try to climb a ladder Now the Lord wants to deliver you from that but in everything in life there's a there's a desire to get up higher to achieve more and I was feeling that as a pastor and it just Something was just it didn't feel right. It's like that, but I don't want to do that I don't want to I mean if ministry is just about getting more people in a building. That's terrible. I Mean, I'm grateful for everybody who's in here tonight, and I'm grateful that next year the family reunion will be bigger Okay, and and and maybe Larry will let us use his yard. I don't know. All right, but uh, I Know this that if you if you make numbers in ministry or life You're God. You will be miserable And I was struggling I was like what what it just didn't feel right and I heard a sermon by Somebody I consider a hero to me a guy by the name of Mike Bickle Mike Bickle Leads most of you know Mike or heard of Mike but leads the International House of Prayer in Kansas City And I heard a message. He preached a few months Before the International House of Prayer started which suppose you the three of you that may not know what I'm referring to It's not pancakes. Okay It is a place on the earth where night and day prayer and worship has existed non-stop for the last 24 years And let's give a little round applause for that And Every year at the one thing conference You'd have 20,000 young adults descend upon Kansas City for a young adult conference and every year Mike would give this 15-minute challenge called the Anna call or the Anna Anointing and it was a message that Mike Bickle preached a few months before I hop started that when I heard it Immediately I knew that's me. You see Mike told a story that when he was 20 21 22 23 years old He he felt the call to a life of prayer and a life of fasting more than being a pastor more than being a preacher being an intercessor and Mike made a decision on that and that day that that was going to be the primary vocation of his life to Minister to the Lord day and night night and day in the place of prayer and he said this he said when you know Who you are? You can say no to a thousand other things when your identity is clear nothing else matters and I heard that sermon just at the right time and I knew that for the rest of my life I wasn't gonna try to build a big church Nothing wrong with big churches and there are some wrong things wrong with big churches and small churches and house church everything But I decided then that's what I want to give my life to And I will stand before God someday. God is my witness I've been watching right now my main call is to give my life in the secret place to prayer and Fasting and I believe for some of you tonight. You feel a little out of place. You feel like I Sense a call, but I I don't know what it is. And I I think it's deliverance or I think it's ministry I don't know what it is the call I want to give you tonight that I want some of you to respond to and I want every one of you teenagers young adults To think about is a life given to Ministry unto the Lord Jesus Christ That's it. That's it. And so we see this obscure Lady in the Bible now just fun fact God uses women powerfully in ministry. Amen All right Be careful for anybody that tells you otherwise and the Bible says in Luke 2 verse 36 Now there was one Anna a prophetess the daughter of Faneuil of the tribe of Asher She was of a great age and it lived with her husband seven years from her virginity Many people believe she got married at 14 years old some a little older believe that her husband died when she was 21 years old Then the Bible says and this woman was a widow of about 84 years now you need to pay very close attention to the text right now because this might be something that provoked some of you to a whole different kind of life and the Bible says 84 years comma She did not depart From the temple but served God with prayers and fastings night and day I mean Her ministry was ministry unto the Lord himself You know Maybe one of the greatest things you could get delivered from is feeling like that all you you always have just a minister to people The greatest ministry in the history of all mankind is ministry unto the Lord The Bible actually talks about that. We're prophets priests and what else is there a third one Kings? We got the king one down. That's we think that's leadership. We got the prophet one down We think that could be deliverance that could be being bold But I'm telling you what the body of Christ has been missing for years and the Lord wants to bring it back to is this? Levitical priestly call unto the Lord In the Old Testament the Levites they did not have an inheritance They had the Lord himself and the entire truck the Levitical tribe their main ministry and calling and job and vocation was to keep the fires burning forever on the altar and keep the Sacrifices going and in the in the generation of the Lord's return The Lord is releasing an Anna call and Anna Anointing for people that want to give their life not to other people but unto the Lord who say God I'll serve you in the secret place. I'll serve you in the quiet place I don't care if anyone else shows up prayer and fasting matters. It matters a lot It matters greatly May God deliver us from a desire to be great and give us a calling to make him great To make him great to make him famous. It's not about who gets on a platform It's about who gets under the platform in the place of prayer seeking the face of God Where are the Anna's on the earth? Where are the men and women who will give their life? burning forever for the Lord And I say to every young person in this room let your desire for greatness burn And let a hunger for Jesus burn brighter than ever If deliverance is The children's bread and it is then that bread is baked in the oven of prayer and fasting and It's delivered on a plate of humility Let's just look at Anna a few things I will tell some stories and I'll make a lot of mention about Jesus if you love him say amen Amen First I want you guys just to see that first and foremost Anna had an unspeakable Crisis in her life an unspeakable crisis. I mean she gets met she's in love She's in love and she gets married and maybe has these dreams of of a family and and and Growing old with her husband and and everything that that you would think that this young woman would want but tragically where we don't know how but seven years later her husband dies and We were not given all the details But instead of letting that crisis stop her She let it propel her into his presence into his presence I Wish some of you would let the crisis affecting the next generation Drive you into the presence of Almighty God. I Wish some of you would let the fact that there is a generation 70% of most not all most young people are smoking weed or doing some sort of drugs in all schools And you say yeah, yeah, yeah, but where are the people that will not let the crisis catalytically Propel them to be in God's presence You see she wasn't alone The Lord became her husband the Lord became her husband the Lord became her exceedingly great Reward some of you are in this room and you feel bound by your crisis You feel bound by your trauma you feel bound by those things that have happened to you in your life I'm here to tell you stop focusing on that Let that become the oil of intimacy that causes you to burn before the Lord Jesus. Come on Can we give the Lord a shout of praise? Crisis Ladies and gentlemen, we are in a crisis like none of none other on the planet We are the generation of the Lord's return and the Lord is looking for men and women Young men and young women That won't let the crisis overwhelm them because they know the one who's greater than the crisis. Amen I wonder if anybody in the tent out here believes that God is greater than the crisis Does anybody out here believe that yes? Absolutely every crisis suicide. He's greater Depression he's greater addiction. He's greater Bad abandonment. He's greater not feeling like you matter. He's greater Feel it. I know one sees me if he does it doesn't matter who sees you Jesus is greater than the crisis and listen the revival that is coming is not taking us back to Mayberry All right You listen. Oh, we pray for revival and we want the mathematics of revival work a little differently than we think they do I mean what's going on here is Absolutely phenomenal. But before they saw the addition and the multiplication guess what they saw the subtraction and the division That's the real mathematics of revival Before your church will experience a move of God You might lose some of your best friends some of your staff members Some of your people that said we're with you to the end But they got a little nervous when you started talking about prayer and fasting and deliverance like I don't want that. I Want my one-hour service Revival will never come to a church that is satisfied with 70-minute services There's no time for God to work We Need people that are not relying on the slickest marketing strategy to build a church or I realize man Where's the where's the town moving? I mean if pastor Greg and pastor Ty were trying to help be a part of what doesn't go vision Okay, where is where is Mount Juliet moving towards? This would not be the property that they picked But how many guys know that God does his greatest works in the hardest of places so he gets all the glory amen amen Crisis But let me let me show you something Let me go a little further here because I'm gonna get to a lot I'm gonna tell you a lot about Jesus because there's something so beautiful about what prayer and fasting did in her life Let me tell you this if you want deliverance more than you want Jesus you're prostituting God If you want healing more than you want the healer you're prostituting God and my last time I checked my gods not for sale but listen God told Moses I'll let you go have the land have the victory. I'll let you go I just won't go with you and Moses said uh-uh. Uh-uh. I'm not going I'm not going I wonder how many of you if you were given the option to have 2,000 in church or a million in your bank account with the stipulation that God wouldn't be with you. I want him to go well, I mean It's okay No, God's looking for people say that's not okay the reason why the church in America is in trouble today is because we've had we've had people who have been content without the Manifest presence of Jesus the God who is everywhere wants to dwell somewhere and he's looking for a people who aren't concerned about Personalities or not concerned about the slickest marketing campaigns in the world or having Disney World for Jesus Okay Or having potluck after potluck after potluck after potluck or looking to have the greatest softball team or the softball ministry What God wants to do is to find a church that says we're just gonna minister to the Lord. That's our ministry That's our ministry. That's our ministry. That's our ministry But She had a revelation she was young she was young there's a video I want to show you Calling forth the next generation. Why do I bring this up now? We're just a partially through the sermon because she was young when God called her and I believe God is calling some of you who are really young and If any of you feel left out Compared to the Lord you're really young And God might be calling you but the vision of the call must be Jesus dangerously undeniably Obsessively Jesus, that's the vision. That's the vision. Watch this So this guy comes up to me and says What's the vision what's the big idea I open my mouth and words come out like this the vision The vision is Jesus obsessively dangerously undeniably Jesus The vision is an army of young people. You see bones. I see an army and they are free from materialism They laugh at nine to five little prisons. They can eat caviar on Monday and cross on Tuesday. They wouldn't even notice They are mobile like the wind they belong to the nations. They need no passport People write their addresses in pencil and wonder at their strange existence They are free They are slaves of the hurting and dirty and dying. What's the vision? The vision is holiness that hurts the eyes it makes children laugh and adults angry It gave up the game of minimum integrity long ago to reach for the stars It scorns the good and strains for the best It is dangerously pure light flickers from every secret motive every private conversation It loves people away from their suicide leaps their Satan games This is an army that will lay down its life for the cause a million times a day It's soldiers choose to lose that they might one day win the great well done of faithful sons and daughters Such heroes are as radical on Monday morning as Sunday night. They do not need fame from names instead They grin quietly upwards and hear the crowds chanting again and again Come on And This is the sound of the underground the whisper of history in the making foundation shaking Revolutionaries dreaming once again mystery is scheming in whispers Conspiracy is breathing. This is the sound of the underground and the army is disciplined young people Their bodies into submission Every soldier would take a bullet for his comrade at arms the tattoo on their back votes for me to live is Christ and to die Is gain sacrifice fuels the fire of victory in their upward eyes winners? Martyrs who can stop them can the homos hold them back can failure succeed can fear scare them or death kill them and the Generation praise like a dying man with groans beyond talking with warrior cries Sulfuric tears and with great barrel loads of laughter waiting watching 24 7 3 6 5 Whatever it takes they will give breaking the rules Shaking mediocrity from its cozy little hide laying down their rights and their precious little wrongs laughing at labels Fasting essentials the advertisers cannot mold them Hollywood cannot hold them peer pressure is powerless to shake their resolve at late night Parties before cook will Christ. They are incredibly cool Dangerously attractive inside and on the outside They hardly care they wear clothes like costumes to communicate and celebrate but never to hide Would they surrender their image or their popularity? They would lay down their very lives swap seats with the man on death row Guilty as hell a throne from an electric chair with blood and sweat and many tears with sleepless nights and fruitless days Praise if it all depends on God and live as if it all depends on them their DNA Chooses Jesus he breathes out and they breathe in their subconscious things They had a blood transfusion with Jesus their words big demons screaming shopping centers Don't you hear them coming have all the widows summon the losers and the freaks here comes the frightened and the forgotten With fire in their eyes, they look tall and trees abroad skyscrapers bow mountains of the world by these children of another Dimension their prayers summon the hounds of heaven Ancient dream of Eden and this vision will be it will come to pass It will come easily and it will come soon Because this is the longing of creation itself The groaning of the spirit the very dream of God my tomorrow is his today My distant hope is his 3D and my feeble whispered faithless prayer invokes a ponderous Resounding bone shaking great amen From countless angels from heroes of the faith from Christ Him self and he is the original dreamer the ultimate winner guaranteed The Lord is calling a generation of young people to be like that a Generation of Anna's that say you know what? I may be young and may people may have written off my generation, but my God is going to use my generation to send revival Pastor Greg and myself both went to Asbury University this year when the revival broke out and I'm going to tell you what I saw It as very was I saw one of the greatest moves of God ever in the history of mankind I saw young people didn't care about popular preachers or famous singers They wanted to minister day and night night and day unto the Lord They wanted their nameless and faceless and that's what they want a nameless and faceless revival They don't care about our most famous preachers. They don't care about how big our YouTube channels are They don't care how many falls on social media They want to see adults and leaders who burn with fire that'll provoke them to burn with fire And Was that in the Bible and I'm gonna I want to get to prayer and fasting but let me tell you what the result of her prayer and fasting was so That you want this too. So let me skip over here into verse number 28 and it says here It's verse 38 and in coming Jesus is coming as a baby. He's coming to the temple and in coming in that instant All right, they bring Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the temple They run into Simeon first if you know the story but secondly, it says this and coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord and Spoke of him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem She wasn't searching for God at that moment because she'd been seeking him the last 60 plus years of her life and It wasn't a mere coincidence that she ran into the Christ child For 60 plus years after her crisis she was seeking God so no wonder she found him in the temple and what the Bible tells us is this is first she worshipped when she saw him a Generation that's going to be used by God is going to worship Jesus more than they worship man Worship Jesus more than they worship money worship Jesus more than they worship popularity worship Jesus Whether they have one friend or ten friends or a million friends They want Jesus and Jesus only and the Bible says and she gave thanks because guess what you all of you know You can't get into his courts without Thanksgiving and praise she saw him she saw him and all she can do is say thank you. Thank you Thank you. Thank you. Thank you because for the first time in a long time there was real worship in that temple Because I promised you for those 60 years that she was there day and night there was not real worship in that temple There were priests going through the motions How do we know that? I'll just look at the life of Jesus That's all it was the scribes and the Pharisees and the priests going through the motions She recognized Jesus when he came to church when the religious leaders did not. I Even even when the religious leaders do not She saw him. I and I promise you there's probably days that she was discouraged. They don't see him. They don't want him They're going through the motions of worship go through the motions But she said I'm gonna seek him. I'm gonna seek him I'm gonna seek him till I find him and she found him and it says she told all About the redemption of Jerusalem The mark of somebody who's encountered Jesus is you want to tell other people about Jesus? You want people to be saved and then delivered not delivered and hopefully saved God wants to raise up a people that aren't afraid of what everyone says I'm gonna tell people about Jesus all the time. He's done everything for me I'm looking for a people at the National Deliverance Conference whose eyes burn with fire Tell other people about Jesus Christ and she said she had a revelation that Jesus was the redemption of Israel Let me she hadn't read the Gospels yet. You know how I know that it's not because I spent more money I should have on seminary education Because the Gospels weren't even written yet She had a revelation who Jesus was Because she had spent years in the secret place alone with God The revelation that you desire will not come with with just a little meek mild tender devotional life You need more than a Jesus calling You need time alone with God Time alone in the secret place with God Almighty And she understood him as the Redeemer the Deliverer the rock and the fortress I'm looking for a people that are so in love with Jesus. He consumes their every being He was the Redeemer. She I promise you She saw him as the one that would go to the cross She saw Jesus as the lamb that was slain when she saw him She saw him as that cute little lamb that one day would have its throat slit on a cross She saw Jesus She saw him. Let me take you to the alphabet. I think I know that She saw him as the Alpha Alpha he was the beginning. He was the beginning. She saw him as the bread of life She saw him as the Christ She saw him as the Deliverer She saw him as the everlasting one the faithful one the great I am the one who is justice the one who is infinite and mercy I'm getting my letters out of order the one who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and Magnificent and never-ending and on my present and the high priest of heaven She saw him as that she saw Jesus as the resurrection the one who would arise three days later She saw a little baby who would rise from the grave someday and that's why she could praise him That's why she could worship him. That's why she was excited and that made 60 years alone All worth it the deliverance that you need and you want is a deliverance from present-list Christianity You say well, come on I want something exciting if Jesus doesn't excite you you have issues well, well, I Want something deep there is nothing deeper than Jesus I Can do this because I'm not gonna break the chairs and I can do this because if I fall it's gonna make a great YouTube video Watch out Isaiah. All right She saw him as the Savior as the true vine The unique God of every gods the very king of very kings She saw him I don't know all the letters as exceptional and Yahweh and Zion she saw him I Want every one of you in this room to give your life to know Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the father's only sermon. This is my son This is my son and any theology that takes Jesus down a notch is dangerous shaky theology And Jesus is coming back to your pure and spotless bride that want to sing to Jesus and love on Jesus 24-7 365 they don't care when church starts and they don't care when church is over cuz they see Jesus And I just wonder are there some young people in this room Just so you know what I thought I was gonna go to college and do this I thought I was gonna go to medical school and do this and nothing wrong with that But I want to give the rest of my life burning unto the Lord Jesus Christ. That's what I want. That's what I gotta have Jesus the Redeemer of Israel. I wonder if she saw Jesus in her mind's eye that one day one day would be in a garden and one day in that garden The treasurer of the church would come up and he would kiss the door to heaven and go to hell and He would offer fake intimacy to Jesus Fake intimacy to Jesus is the beginning of the demonic in your life Judas offered fake fire strange fire Here I'm gonna be very clear on this statement Strange fire is fake intimacy to God. It's not the things you don't like in the Spirit That's what fake fire is. That's what strange fire is And that is what God is purifying his bride of and I wonder if she saw That baby there as a grown man and one day saw that baby would have his beard Plucked out of his face and his face began to swell up and all of a sudden that swollen face that the beard is pulling out and then seeing that the Soldiers punch him and punch him again and punch him again to where the eyes Who's always seen for all eternity those eyes that love and compassion are now swollen And I wonder I wonder if she saw them strip the king of glory naked and Then mock him and spit in his face and mock him. I wonder if she saw that But more than I wonder if she saw that I wonder if we see that You say I'm just bored with Christianity well, you're just boring Because if you understand what Jesus has done you cannot be bored I Wonder I Wonder if she saw him When they took him and they tied him up They tied him up Put his hands out as high as they could and they began to beat him with a cat of nine tails One on the right side one on the left side And I wonder if she saw his flesh being ripped from his body and let me tell you something they beat him all over his naked body I wonder if she saw that and I wonder if her heart began to realize he loves he loves he loves Listen, the key to deliverance is found on the cross of Jesus Christ Demons are not afraid of my words and they're definitely not afraid of my deep voice They are afraid of the voice of the great I am and I wonder if she saw This man not any normal man because what Jesus went through would have killed any man But Jesus got up and I wonder if she saw them put that robe on him and began to laugh at him And then that blood began to dry and then they ripped it off his body He's tired. He hasn't slept. He hasn't ate the emotional pain is unbearable The physical pain is Unbearable and the spiritual pain is unbearable. I wonder if she saw that I Wonder why the church doesn't weep anymore. We think about the cross. We don't we think we're gonna have lights and sound I'm all for all those things, but I want the blood of Jesus to stir me not the lights That's The vision and if that's not a vision we're falling we don't have a vision Jesus obsessively Jesus dangerously Jesus undeniably And I wonder if she saw Jesus try to carry this Roman cross on his back Down the Via Della Rosa all the way to where that cross would be on the hill By the way the same place that Isaac carried the wood on his back when his father Abraham said for three days carry this wood on your back because we're going to Mount Moriah same place Same analogy and there in the book of Genesis when Abraham when Isaac finally said father father father Will God himself where's the lamb and Abraham said in faith God himself will provide a lamb But in that day in Abraham's day pastor Greg God provided a ram because the lamb was coming years later and that lamb was Jesus Christ and That lamb would be the one that Abraham wouldn't have to slay his son The father of glory would have to slay his one and only son so that we can know Jesus Christ It's because of that demons flee. It's because of that we worship. It's because of that we pray It's because of that we do church It's because of that and I want a church to get fired up for the risen Savior I'm telling you what, I believe with all of my heart America will be saved and it'll be saved because the church gets a vision of Jesus the real Jesus the real Jesus Jesus is not Thor and Jesus is not Captain America. Jesus is Jesus. He's Jesus He's Jesus The reason why the angels can't stop singing is because they see him the reason why the church has stopped singing is because they don't see him That is why How did she get this revelation? I Wish I had two more hours to share this with you She got it through the place of prayer and fasting That's where she got it. I Can barely open water Much better Presbyterian baptism just took place right there Let's talk about prayer and fasting Ministry unto the Lord in 1994 Bill Bright the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ was on a three-week fast when God gave him a vision for America to return to Jesus Christ and Bill Bright in 1994 did something that no one had done in decades and he called two million believers to 40 days of prayer and fasting 40 days of prayer and fasting for revival in America and believers who are now famous Heaven help us of ever seeking that That's idolatry The only reason we have famous people is because we want to be adored like we adore them. That's why we have idols That's another sermon for another day. That's next year But Here's I want to tell you a lot of believers took up the mantle John Piper took up the mantle My dear mentor and pastor Ronnie Floyd took up the mantle Steve Gaines took up the mantle in 1995 Lou Giglio took up the mantle in 1995 there was two million believers that fasted and prayed from the beginning of Advent to Easter there in 1995 and you know what God did after that on Father's Day in Brownsville, Florida Some of you know where I'm going with this my Baptist friends have no idea where I'm going with this Revival came the Brownsville revival took place a few weeks after Millions of believers ended their time of prayer and fasting and two years later They say two hundred thousand people came to Jesus Christ as a result of the of the Brownsville revival The Brownwood, Texas revival took place That was the Baptist revival that spread fire on college campuses all across America That revival was a word-centered Repentance based revival the Brownsville were Florida revival was an experience centered Jesus based revival and America was touched But it was touched because believers first fasted and prayed Another one of my mentors Jensen Franklin Who I am believing will preach under this tent. That's not what I'm gonna read you Here's what I want to read you Unless you put prayer with your fasting. There's no need to fast If it doesn't mean anything to you, it won't mean anything to God I can do a lot of things, but I cannot do anything without Jesus Moses Moses fasted Elijah fasted 40 days Paul fasted 14 days Jesus fasted 40 days if the children of God do not fast, how will we ever fit into the armor of God? Fasting is not a requirement. It's a choice It's a vow you choose to make pursuing God your priority on a deeper level the entire time You're on a fast you're acknowledging God when you are feeling hungry Empty and weak you connect with God without all the clutter in that way fasting is a time vow It's a discipline vow fasting Especially a longer fast Strengthens your character and every area is in your life If you do not have the power of a made-up mind to honor God with your body You'll be at the mercy of the lust of your flesh if failure is not a possibility then success does not mean anything Prayer and fasting was a big part of Jesus life. Why would it be such a small part in yours? And just in case you need more evidence from Scripture before I tell you a few more stories And then we have an invitation to give ourselves to foodless days and sleepless nights. Let me take you to Luke chapter number four You know the story of Jesus going to the wilderness to fast. Let me let me show you some very Important words that's used here. If you love Jesus. Amen And Luke chapter 4 verse 1 it says then Jesus being filled with the Holy Spirit Returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness being tempted for 40 days By the devil in those days. He ate nothing and Afterwards when it ended he was hungry. He was full of the Spirit and led by the Spirit to fast What was the result of his fast? verse 14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit Are you catching this he went into the wilderness? full of the Spirit and Led by the Spirit but not in the power of the Spirit it was only after he came out of the 40-day fast that the power of the Spirit was on his life and ministry if You want the power of God on your life your family and your ministry? It's time to take up fasting prayer and fasting prayer, and I'm not talking about giving up tick-tock I'm not talking about giving up, you know Exercising whatever you I'm talking about giving up food food Biblical fasting is about food. There are other fasts, but I'm talking about fasting for foodless days and sleepless nights To the many that showed up to pray all night long a few nights ago. I applaud you and I thank you Was that easy? No, it wasn't easy at four o'clock. I was a zombie I fell asleep for 15 minutes out underneath the other tent and I woke up hoping no one saw me The prayer guy the fasting guy has fallen asleep Peter. Couldn't you stay awake with me for eight hours? you know and But I promise you it stayed till six went to the hotel woke up and felt energized by God Fasting is sowing into your life knowing there will be a harvest Young people if God has done anything in my life of any significance I promise you every ounce of it is because of a life given to prayer and Fasting and don't you think for one second because Malachi is strong Malachi is very weak Very weak. I have started more fast than I have finished I've began a fast in the morning and by noon, I'm at Pizza Hut buffet God, I'm such a failure. I'm such a failure But if you let fasting will change your life so and and when I was 27 years old I Look 27 still I hope I was in seminary All right, and I just had this crisis moment and Anna crisis I finally saw my life ten years down the road Dr. And I realized I Know all the stories of the supernatural, but I'm not experiencing any of it. I Know all the stories of revival, but I'm not experiencing any of it And I took a J term class, which just means the fast class to get done. I I don't remember a single thing from seminary unfortunately, all right But I took a J term class on spiritual disciplines and we had a sit we had a moment where we learned about Fasting for revival and I saw a video of when revival came to a church in Northwest, Arkansas It's a church pastored by my dear friend and mentor Ronnie Floyd in 1995 he went on a 40-day fast and on that when the fast ended that very next Sunday he got up to before his church and told them what God did on the fast how God humbled his pride and Opened his heart and did so many things and that church service did not stop for many many many hours And then many people came back that night Touched by the power of God and then that very next summer. He stood before the entire Southern Baptist Convention and gave them the message to prayer and fasting and then one year later after that He stood at the million man March on the wall in Washington DC there and for promise keepers and told them about the power of prayer and fasting You say how did it all start? Cuz Bill Bright issued a call to prayer and fasting revival came to Brownsville revival came to Brownwood, Texas Revival hit college campuses revival touched cross church and millions of people were stirred did revival come to America. Well Let me tell you what did happen There was this little young adult movement You know that was started by a guy named Louie Giglio called passion Yeah, he tells the story of an open vision yes, I said an open vision on an airplane of thousands of people on a field young people on a field I Still get stirred every time. I don't think about certain preachers when John Piper preached the famous seashell sermon He Saw that Promise keepers was at its height. It's Zenith Zenith in the late 90s Where did it get birthed out of prayer and fasting but then to? night and day prayer ministries one in England and another one in Kansas City, which started unbeknownst to each other on the same day Month and year and that's a verifiable fact Unbeknown to each other you see revival births minute men women ministry and movements and Revival comes when God's people set themselves to prayer and fasting and people only set themselves to prayer and fast Fasting PR when God births a God-sized hunger in their heart Well, I want every one of you from the back all the way around and online I want you baptized with hunger that's greater than spiritual the greater than physical hunger Come on if you don't love God more than you want a cheeseburger or a Big Mac or Chicken strips or glazed donuts or let me just think about food for a second Then you're never listen you'll never have the children's bread because the children's bed is break baked in the oven of prayer and fasting and from that day for God radically changed my life and All I want is Jesus I Love preaching here, and I hope I get to come back. But if I don't Jesus is enough. I Don't care about having a big church. Jesus is enough I don't care about having any I want Jesus and Jesus only and I want you to want Jesus and Jesus only in 1996 Liberty University was about to go under they had over 100 million dollars in debt liability debt Jerry Falwell senior began a fast in 1996 and he began to pay was July 20th 1996 he began to fast for 40 days Liberty University Was on the brink of losing its accreditation losing everything So Jerry following on a 40-day fast and God told him on that fast. Don't ask me for money God said ask me for me Ask me for me Your fast ought to be first and foremost a Jesus fast a fast to have a revelation That's greater than flannel graph Christianity If God takes you into the deepest parts of who he is and reveals the mysteries to you. He will only do it in prayer and fasting at the end of that 40-day fast no money came to Liberty University and Then two weeks later God told Jerry Falwell he could do it again He ended up fasting 80 days out of a hundred and five days but at the end of the second fast 40 or 50 million dollars got wired to Liberty University and now Liberty University is the largest Christian University on the planet with a two billion dollar endowment How was Liberty University saved through prayer and fasting? When it looked like the Continental Army was not going to win the Revelationary War Against against the British we see that famous picture of George Washington on one knee in the snow and I wonder how soon after that did George Washington asked the people to fast and Pray, but he made a declaration and prayer and fasting began and America was born Our nation is a nation's been birthed and formed in the fires of revival and prayer and fasting Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln when America was collapsing and it looked like The South was going to win the war and everything and everything was good. It was it was like America was about over Abraham Lincoln called America to a proclamation a day of humbling themself before God to prayer and fasting and America was saved America was saved When it looked like Germany was going to take over the world and World War two the King of England Queen of England Whoever was running England Winston Churchill, I don't know Issued a call to prayer and fasting the miracle of Dunkirk took place because of prayer and fasting and What's going to save America and what's going to save this generation and what's going to cast out demons? And what's going to see people saved like never before and what's going to see the church revived like never before is a new army a new army, they see bones, but we see an army an army an army an army an army who says my Identity is Jesus. My life is Jesus. My heart is Jesus I want him do you want him? Do you want him? Do you want him? Do you want him? Do you want him? God raised up millions of believers who will fast and pray for his presence foodless days and sleepless nights foodless days and sleepless nights the worship team can come up I Have more I could say but I'm not What I am gonna say Some of you need to give yourself to prayer and fasting Not Because we're strong but because we're weak Listen you think you what you want is being on a platform. Let me tell you something like Life's not any better from this point to this point Like like it's not like oh, I'm so sad and so useless. Oh, look. I've got meaning and purpose now Oh, I'm sad and useless again. Oh, I got look I'm behind a pulpit I've got meaning and purpose. No The men and women that change history never have to get behind a pulpit The men and women that change history are the ones that know how to get ahold of heaven and not let God go until God blesses them History is shaped by the intercessors God give us Anna's who will fast and pray May you have an Anna anointing and Anna call that says I thought I wanted a ministry to men But now I want a ministry to his heart his heart. I must know Jesus I don't have to know the famous. Listen, you don't need a YouTube channel. It's great to have one You don't need a best-selling book. It's great to have those two what you need is Jesus What you need is Jesus So Here's the call today. I Want to first begin with the young people if you are a young adult You just self-identify as a young adult Would you make your way as close you can to the front And I need I need all of the preachers in the room to help me pray for young people if you're a preacher an Evangelist a pastor an apostle a bishop. I need your help Come up here come intersperse amongst the young people begin to pray at the fire of the Living God would fall on them I wish you could have seen the firefall conference this last summer at Global Vision The fire of God fell on the young adults at Global Vision. It was like the deliverance conference energy on steroids Like the deliverance conference drank three Red Bulls and had a child the drink caffeine too much and that was the conference But I'm praying for you young people that God would raise you up to be a great man and woman That Wants to be consecrated more than you want to be a celebrity That's your identity as a father in the ministry. I speak identity over you. I speak blessing over you I speak joy over you. I speak purpose over you I want the adults the pastors the leaders just begin to touch hands lay hands on them pray for them Let's pray for them even now just begin to pray just begin to pray everybody in the crowd Stretch your hands towards these young adults in the front and just pray for them And when you see them think of your kids and your grandkids Your sons and your daughters pray for them like they're your own fire of God Anoint every young man
