My dear friends, you know that these evening meetings are open to you, and Sunday is to be the last meeting next Sunday. Of course, it will be a shorter last meeting, especially because many people will have caught their long-distance trains by then. So invite your neighbors and your friends for the evening meetings.
You know, friends, we are here in order to search our hearts, to humble ourselves. This great crowd may not quite typify that spirit. You know, it may appear big and grand and all that rubbish, but it is a different spirit with which we are gathered for this retreat, allowing God to cut us to size.
And that will show us how little we know of God, and how we are the least in the kingdom of God. Because much light has been given to us, and much is required of us. And I always see how short I seem to come.
Of course, there's a bookstore over there for those of you who wish to go and supplement the word, you know, with practical lives of God's people who have followed the steps of Jesus. So now, let us turn to Nehemiah. You know, in the ninth chapter of Nehemiah, we see how he confesses and narrates some of God's mercies which were made light of.

The heart is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things. Who can know? You know, friends, why do we produce a rebellious situation in our families? It is so characteristic of us. That is the nature of the fallen heart of man.
