Full Transcript

Paul pictures the church as the wife of Jesus in Ephesians 5.27, and it's what he says about the purpose of Christ, the second person of the Trinity, the creator of the universe, coming into the world. Why did he come? Why did he come and die? And here's what it says in Ephesians 5.27, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor. He wants a beautiful wife for his son, for himself, in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing that she might be holy and without blemish. So Christ means to have a beautiful wife.
