He didn't even say go evangelize. He talks about your conduct being a witness of the truth, but Peter's whole emphasis is for us to love one another. To love each other in the midst of suffering.

To cover over sin. This is the type of people we ought to be in the midst of this. This is what eternity should do to us being gripped with eternity.
