In 1 Timothy 2 5 we read, for there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. The title of my poem this evening friends is There is a Man in Heaven. There is a man in heaven whom I recognize and when I see him face to face I look him in the eye and say my redeemer, lover of my soul.

There is a man in heaven. He's waiting there for me. A glorified man with nail prints in his hands.

He has those nail prints because of me. He died for me. There is a man in heaven.

Jesus is his name. I long to be with him, to love him, to hug him, to fall before him. All glory to his name.

There is a man in heaven praying there for me. He tells me I am his own. He lifts me up when I fall down.

He's a faithful friend to me. There is a man in heaven exalted on a throne. He sits at the right hand of the father and he earned that right by way of a bloody cross dying for his own.

There is a man in heaven who knows me by my name. He called me by his love and washed me in his blood. Yes, there is a man in heaven.

Jesus is his name.
