God is on the lookout for men who will take him at his word. This was the case with Noah, and because Noah believed God and obeyed in building an ark, he and his family were preserved from drowning with the rest of the world in judgment. God called Abraham out of Ur of Chaldees and his father's house to a country he knew not to become the progenitor of a nation.

Abraham took God at his word and was a friend of God and became the father of the faithful. Moses took God at his word and delivered a nation out of bondage and saw the glory of God. God's persecuted prophets took him at his word and they subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.

God today, at this hour, friends, is still on the lookout for men who will take him at his word so he can work wonders through them. We see this truth in 2 Chronicles 16.9 which declares, For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. George Whitefield, the great British evangelist, read the Gospel of Luke in chapter 14 and verse 23 which states, And the Lord said unto his servant, Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Young Whitefield went out into the open air, to the fields, proclaiming the gospel of the Son of God to the outcasts of society, and sued crowds of tens of thousands, gathered outdoors, whether in rain or snow, to hear him preach, preach up Christ Jesus. And God shook two continents in revival under Whitefield's mighty preaching. A C.T. Studd, a rich and privileged and famous Englishman, took God at his word and gave away his inheritance like the rich young ruler would not, and he gave away those millions to the cause of the spread of the gospel.

And after giving up his fortune, he walked away from his fame, and he hid himself in obscurity in China, India, and Africa for the souls of Christ. Yes, God is looking for a man today that will take him at his word. D.O. Moody was an uneducated shoe salesman who took God at his word and became a soul winner for God.

He heard a man say one day, God is looking for the man wholly sold out to him so he can work wonders through that man. And Moody muttered beneath his breath an oath, by God's grace I will be that man. And God used Moody to awake Great Britain in mighty revival.

I believe God is looking for a man today, friends, who will take up their Bible and stand on his promises and go forth with the faith of a Daniel and shake the very gates of hell. The question arises, who will be that man? Will it be you, friend? Will you take God literally at his word and enter into a supernatural walk of faith with him to such a dependence upon him and his spirit that he can move cities off their foundations by your very prayers and bold witness for him? I repeat, God is on the lookout at this hour for the man that will take him at his word. Let us pray.
