In Genesis 19 we have a familiar passage of scripture on the judgment of God against sin with the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah. The conflagration was so great and so devastatingly intense that neither man nor beast could escape the fury the skies above unleashed upon the unsuspecting inhabitants of these doomed cities. We have an eyewitness account of what the burning of Sodom looked like in its aftermath in Genesis chapter 19 and in verses 27 and 28 we read, And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord.

And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the plain. And beheld, and lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace. And the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah, friends, was the scene of the most terrible judgment on human sin, with its flashing glare is flung down through the whole length of scripture from Genesis to the Gospels, where the Lord employs it more than once as the figure of judgment.

Jesus threatens upon cities where the word is preached in vain. And as we read his warnings we can almost feel the flashing flame scorch our own cheeks. America is a modern Sodom that promotes sexual perversion in every level of society.

Why you can't watch a Hollywood movie without a pro-homosexual agenda surfacing in the plot through its twisted characters. You cannot work in government without the fear and oppression of losing your job if you speak up against gays in society. You cannot hold a job in corporate America and speak out against homosexuality, for if you do you will be terminated.

And the lips of the churches are sealed tight from fear of losing their tax advantages if they speak out against the gay agenda and are labeled intolerant. But listen, friends, God will not tolerate what he wants condemned. And America is a ticking time bomb ready to explode any moment from the just displeasure of an offended God.

Christianity was never meant to be tolerant toward a sin-loving society. Rather, the church should be busy issuing warnings to flee from the wrath to come. If Christ is not your Savior, friend, you will meet him one day as your judge.

He will sit on a pure white throne and judge mankind. America is under the remedial judgments of God right now from natural calamities and disasters, from floods and fires and tornadoes and pestilence. Our daily news reads like a chapter out of the Old Testament.

Will America repent and turn back to the God of the Bible, or will she be like the indifferent inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, hell-bent on pleasure and sin? Our only hope of not being destroyed by a righteous God is that he will have mercy and send us revival. For if God does not send revival to this American Sodom, we surely will one day soon be burnt up as well. God has not changed his stripes, and he is not tolerant toward sin.

Repent before it's too late.
