Great God, You are a dreadful God who will and must punish sin. I pray right now, Lord, that Your Holy Spirit will attend the reading of Your Word and the preaching of this message, and that Your Spirit will speak to hearts and disturb people. I pray these things in the strong name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

I heard a man say he had a friend in the hospital who was dying because he had a poison in his blood, and this man was too far gone to have any hope of recovery. But I submit to You, friends, that all men have a poison in their blood that will one day kill them. Every mother's son comes into this world with a poison in his blood, a ruined nature, and a bent toward sin.

I'm going to show you today, friends, examples of how bad off man really is and just how hopeless his condition is. I'm going to walk you through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and demonstrate to you just how ruined man really is in his natural state. The book of Job describes man's corrupt nature this way, How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water.

And in Jeremiah 17 9 we see how corrupt the human heart really is. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it? Listen to me, friend.

Man is in bad shape. Look at Genesis 3 17. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it.

Cursed is the ground for thy sake. In sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. Man, in his natural condition, is alienated from God and under a curse.

Old Adam was under a curse, and so was your nature cursed. You have a ruined nature because of Adam's fall. We are sons of fallen Adam.

I was born of a father, and when I was born in the flesh, he bequeathed to me what he was in the flesh, in the likeness of Adam, in the natural birth. And that gave me poison in my blood. And look what that poison in the blood produced, friends, the world's first murderer.

In Genesis 4 8 we read, And Cain talked with Abel his brother, and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him. Because of that poison in the blood, man has a sin problem. Jesus said so in Matthew 15 19.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. Listen, friends, our theme of poison in the blood is again seen in Genesis 6 5-7. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth. Does this not bring confirmation once again, friends, that man has a poison in his blood? And because of man's poison in his blood, Almighty God drowned the old world, save Noah and his family.

And I want to present more evidence to you, turning your Bibles to Genesis 18 20, to see more poison in the blood. And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous, what kind of people were the Sodomites? They were homosexuals, and the cry that reached heaven was the cry of rape. The burning of Sodom is another example of man's poison in his blood.

We have an eyewitness account of the destruction of those cities of the plain. Genesis chapter 19, and in verses 27 and 28, describes the terrible scene. And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord.

And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain. And beheld, and lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace. Old Abraham stood there trembling, friends, as he saw the result of man's poison in the blood.

And as you go through your Bible, you will see instance after instance of example after example of man's poison in the blood. We read a laundry list of man's poison in the blood from Romans chapter 1. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections, for even their women, to change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another.

Men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meat. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful, who know in the judgment of God that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Just look around at the world today, friends, and agree with me that man has a poison in his blood, the pornography that floods our homes under the guise of entertainment, the drunkenness and debauchery that will take place in this city tonight, the prostitution and fornication that is rampant throughout our nation today. We live in a sin-soaked society, and we have become desensitized to sin. Man has a poison in his blood, and this culminates in the final book of the Bible, in Revelation chapter 21 and verse 8, it states, But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

Well, hopefully, friends, I have presented enough evidence today of man's ruined nature and the poison in his blood because of sin. Man is doomed to be damned in the devil's hell. There is only one remedy and refuge for sin in the person of Christ Jesus.

Listen, friends, I know I am a sinner, and I need a substitute for sin, and so do you, friend, so do you. We are told in the Bible that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. Listen, friends, over in Revelation we read, And nailed him to a cross.

Look at that blessed man on that cross. See him there with his arms outstretched, beckoning you to come to him and believe on him. Look at that bloodstained Savior from sin.

When all was against him, his love flows out to a world of guilty sinners. Look at that man on that cross. Isaiah declares, Look unto me, and be ye saved.

All the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. Listen, friend, if you remain in your lost condition, you will surely die in your sins and be cast into the torments of hell. You have a poison in your blood, and there is only one remedy for sin, and that is Christ Jesus.

You must get under his blood for pardon of sin. The cross is the place where wicked men sought to get rid of him, but by his death it becomes the place where his saving power flows out to all who come in repentance, confessing they are sinners and own them as their Savior and Lord. If you've not trusted this blessed Savior, receive him now before it's too late.

Soon he will come in judgment on this world when his anger shall burn as an oven, and then you shall meet him as your judge. Listen, friend, herein is love, not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Well, I'm going to sing a hymn, friend, and if God has been dealing with your soul through this message, I want you to get serious with God and come believe on his Son, Jesus Christ, who is the pearl of great price, worth selling off for and losing off for so he may be gained.

You come as I sing. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow. No other fount I know. Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
