E.A. Johnston warns that America's deep divisions stem from a spiritual rejection of God, urging a return to Christ's reign through revival as the nation's only hope.
In this prophetic sermon, E.A. Johnston addresses the deep spiritual crisis facing America, asserting that the nation's division is rooted in its rejection of God. Drawing from historical examples and Scripture, he calls believers to seek revival and restore Christ's authority in the church. Johnston warns of dire consequences if the nation does not repent and turn back to biblical foundations.

I've never seen a time when this nation of ours was so divided. I grew up as a little boy in the riots of the 1960s and protests in the streets, which were against the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement. I believe we're more divided today than that time.
I believe you'd have to go back to the time of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War to see a nation in such tatters as this one. I have walked the battleground of Shiloh time and time again, where fields were covered in blood and gun smoke. I've stood reflectively at the thousands of graves of young boys who were cut down before their life even began.
We were a nation divided then, but we were still a Christian nation then. Some folks today say our nation's woes are due to ideology. Others say our nation is cut down the middle because of politics.
I say otherwise. I say it's a spiritual problem. For our nation's ills and problems stem from the very fact that this country turned its back on the God of the Bible.
We walked him, in essence, to our borders and said, good riddance, we don't want you to rule over us anymore. And the churches in this country are so far gone that they've played right along and have rejected God as well because they've turned and gone their own way. Which is far from the heart of Almighty God.
My Bible declares in Jeremiah chapter 2 and verse 11, Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? But my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. Listen to me, friends. The hope and future of America lies not in who occupies the White House nor the courthouse.
Our only hope is when Jesus Christ occupies the church house once again as he reigns supreme in his prominence and preeminence through a Holy Ghost revival. If this does not occur soon, then this nation will do what the Soviet premier Khrushchev predicted in 1961. He said he didn't fear America as a superpower because America would one day implode on herself.
If this country does not turn back to the God of the Bible, then God will leave us to our own devices. And we, as a nation, will end up on the ash heap of history like ancient Roman Greece. Heaven help us all.
Let us pray.
