Hello friends, this is Manna in the Morning, and our devotion today is Revival. Our scripture passage is found in the Gospel of Luke, in chapter 22, and in verses 44 through 46. We see in God's Word, and being in agony, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood, fallen down to the ground.
And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, and said unto them, O why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. In 1740, when God moved through New England, it was called the Great Awakening. Revival has often been referred to as an awakening.
At Gethsemane, Jesus faced the crisis point of his earthly ministry, and his disciples slept right through it. Today, the church is in a crisis point, and we are sleeping right through it. Let each of us who desire to see revival in our day, rise and pray, and seek God earnestly, and beseech him to have mercy upon our sinful land, and to pour out his plentiful effusions of grace and revival at this desperate hour.
It's time for the people of God to call this nation back to the God of the Bible, through a time of sackcloth and ashes, and a humbling of ourselves in true repentance, as we come to God in desperate prevailing prayer, praying for a spiritual awakening that will save our young people from hell, and save our nation from destruction. Great God, send us revival that will grip this nation from coast to coast with a God consciousness and a sense of our own sinfulness. In the strong name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.
Amen.
