I can't wait to get up in the morning to spend time with my true and faithful friend, Jesus of Nazareth. The sweet fellowship we share as I read his word and he speaks to me. When I drive down the road, he is beside me in the car hanging out with me.

Sometimes we don't need to talk, we just enjoy each other's company. Jesus told his disciples, Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. I am a disciple of Jesus, so that promise applies to me.

He is always with me, always, his spirit in me, guiding me, and teaching me, and loving me. Because he is always with me, I am careful to avoid evil or do or say anything that would grieve or quench his spirit. I choose not to watch any movie that has anything inappropriate in it because Jesus sits beside me on the couch and what I see, he sees.

What I hear, he hears. I cannot watch any R-rated movie, and if a PG-13 movie becomes offensive, I quickly turn it off. I only want to please him and I want to stay sensitive to what is offensive to him.

I won't watch anything that is inappropriate or sinful from his perspective because his perspective is all that matters to me because it's always Jesus and me. At the end of each day, we will walk by the beach to enjoy a sunset together and I'll tell him how much I've enjoyed spending time with him and how thankful I am for him for his always being there for me. When I'm sad, he cheers me up.

When I'm lonely, he comforts me. When I am weak, he strengthens me. I can always count on Jesus to be there for me, to keep me company, and to encourage me.

Jesus and me are quite a team. I am weak and he is strong. I lean on him and abide in him as a fellowship with him because it's always Jesus and me.

And when I go to bed at night, I thank him for getting me through another day. I'll tell him how much I love him and how thankful I am for him, that he is my most faithful friend who has never let me down, nor will ever let me go. And I'll ask him to keep me while I sleep and I look forward to seeing him in the morning.

Sometimes he can't wait to see me, so he will wake me up at 3 a.m. so I can spend some quality time with him. So from 3 a.m. to 4.30 a.m., I'm in my Bible and with my Lord. Often it is in these early morning hours that he has something special to say to me.

It's always Jesus and me because he loved me and gave himself for me. And Jesus and me go hand in hand like biscuits and gravy.
