Dennis Balcombe (1945–present). Born in 1945 in California, Dennis Balcombe is an American missionary and pastor who has dedicated over 50 years to ministry in Hong Kong and mainland China. Raised in a liberal Methodist church, he converted at 16 in 1961 at a Spirit-filled Assembly of God church, where he received a call to preach and felt led to China. After serving in the Vietnam War, he arrived in Hong Kong in 1969, founding Revival Christian Church, which he pastored for decades. Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, Balcombe established Revival Chinese Ministries International, supporting China’s house churches with Bibles and training. His preaching, emphasizing the Holy Spirit and revival, has reached millions globally through conferences and media. He authored One Journey, One Nation (2011) and China’s Opening Door (2014). Married to Kathy since 1970, they have two children, Sharon and Michael, and two grandchildren, living in Hong Kong. Balcombe said, “Every revival begins with prayer and repentance.”
