Chip Ingram (June 21, 1954 – ) Ralph Browne "Chip" Ingram II is an American Christian pastor, author, and teacher. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he founded Living on the Edge in 1995, a discipleship ministry now reaching millions through radio, TV, and online platforms. With over 35 years in ministry, he pastored Country Bible Church in Kaufman, Texas (1982–1990, growing from 30 to 500 members), Santa Cruz Bible Church in California (1990–2003, growing from 1,000 to over 4,000), and Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, California (2009–2018). He also served as president of Walk Thru the Bible (2003–2009). Ingram has authored over 20 books, including Culture Shock, The Real God, and The Invisible War. Raised in a religious but impersonal Christian environment, his faith deepened in college through Sports Ambassadors’ basketball outreach, shaping his focus on authentic discipleship. He holds a B.A. from West Liberty State College, an M.S. from West Virginia University, and a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Married to Theresa, he has four children, including songwriter Jason Ingram, and 12 grandchildren. He resides in California, emphasizing practical Christian living.
