Is Your Labor in Vain?
0Bruce Hulshizer preaches on the futility of investing in earthly pursuits, as highlighted by Solomon in Ecclesiastes and reiterated in the New Testament. He emphasizes that all labor for personal gain on earth is in vain, as everything will eventually pass away. However, laboring in the Lord's work and for His purposes gives our actions eternal value and significance, as seen in passages like I Corinthians 15:58 and Hebrews 6:10.
The Sun Also Rises
0PSA 89:35Bruce Hulshizer preaches on Solomon's perspective in Ecclesiastes, where he sees the futility of life and its labors in the continual rising and setting of the sun. Despite this, the constancy of the sun is used by God as a witness to the certainty of His promise to David regarding his seed and throne. Solomon, as the Son of David, should have recognized the sun as a witness to God's promise, but instead, he loses sight of God's purposes and seeks fulfillment in earthly plans. We are urged to learn from Solomon's mistake and recognize that we are part of even greater purposes in God's divine plan.
All by One Man
0Bruce Hulshizer preaches on the profound work of Christ in overcoming Adam's sin and its consequences, highlighting how just as Adam's sin brought condemnation to all, Christ's righteous act offers justification to all who believe. He emphasizes the contrast between the ease of destruction through sin and the difficulty of restoration, drawing parallels to a condemned building and the extensive effort required for restoration. Hulshizer marvels at the magnitude of Jesus' work in restoring all condemned by sin to a place of eternal life and righteousness before God, emphasizing the glorious transformation accomplished by Christ alone.
The Love of the Father for the Son
0MAT 3:17JHN 15:9JHN 17:24ROM 8:321CO 1:9Bruce Hulshizer preaches on the ultimate love of the Father for the Son, a love that existed before the foundation of the world and is unparalleled, extending to us as believers. The Father's love for His Son is compared to His love for us, emphasizing the depth of His love by sacrificing His Son for our sake. Jesus invites us to abide in His love, mirroring the love between the Father and the Son. Through Christ, we are called into a fellowship of mutual love, sharing in the divine love between the Father and the Son.
