Now, I'm continuing in this session from our previous session. We were in
Hebrews 10, 19 to 22, and I want you to come back. We're just going to pick it up right where we were last time.
Let's begin with a prayer. Lord Jesus, we ask you to come now. Join our gathering by the power of the Spirit of God, and may the name of Jesus be exalted as we look into the word of God now.
We ask in Jesus' name. We're back into
Hebrews 10, 19 to 22. It says, Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus, verse 22, let us draw near with the true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience.
Now, I was in this scripture on one occasion, and as I was praying in this passage, it just came to me. I thought, I'm just going to do it right now. So, I stopped, and I just said, Jesus, sprinkle me with your blood.
I saw myself under the blood of Christ, righteous before God, and I came immediately into the holiest, into the bosom of our Father. And it was so sweet. I said to myself, I've got to do this again sometime, and I did.
Happened again. I was in prayer, and I just, I remembered, I'm going to do that again. So, I prayed, Jesus, sprinkle me now with your blood.
And I came into the throne room with boldness. It's me again. And I came right into the bosom of our Father, and it was so rich and sweet.
I said to myself, I have got to do this more often. So, I started doing it more often, and I got to the place where I was doing it every day. And I just want to share with you a little bit of how the Lord has brought me into this, because now, I just get sprinkled with blood every day, and I want to share some of the joy with you.
So, I'd like to be just a little bit personal in this session, if you don't mind me being a little bit vulnerable and talking about how it works for me, okay? And if I share something that connects for you, it's yours. You can run with it. Let's look at
Psalm 109, verse 31.
This is the last verse of
Psalm 109. It says, for he shall stand at the right hand of the poor to save him from those who condemn him. Now, I want you to come in your Bibles to the very next verse in your Bible, which is the first verse of
Psalm 110.
The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool. Now, these two verses are separated only by a chapter break. And so, I was in the two verses on one occasion, and I'm like, okay, now let me figure this out.
Psalm 109, verse 31, Jesus is at my right hand. Okay, I got that. Now,
Psalm 110, verse 1, says Jesus is at the Father's right hand.
Okay, rewind. Let's try this again. How does this work? Okay,
Psalm 109, Jesus is at my right hand.
Okay, I see that. Here's me. Here's Jesus.
Got it. Now,
Psalm 110, Jesus is at the Father's right hand. That must put the Father on my left hand.
Psalm 109, Jesus is on my right.
Psalm 110, He's on the Father's right. So, the Father's here, and Jesus is here.
That satisfies
Psalm 110. This satisfies Psalm 109. So, that seemed to take care of the geography for me.
So, when I put those two verses together, I see here's the Father, here's Jesus, and in the middle is me. So, here's how I visualize it. This is just my own personal thing, okay? I get sprinkled with blood.
Some more in my morning. I just say, Lord Jesus, sprinkle me now with your blood. Righteous, I come in with boldness.
No 15-minute warm-up. I am immediately in the holiest of all. And when I come into the presence of the throne room, and I see the Father, and I see the Son seated at His right hand, I just make my way between.
I make way. Here I come, and I kind of push my way until I get myself right between the Father and the Son. Then I turn around, sit down with Christ in heavenly places.
Now, Abba's on my left. Jesus is on my right. I'm in the middle.
And that's where I like to spend my day. I remember when I was a kid, every once in a while, my parents would embrace, my dad would draw mom into a body embrace in the kitchen or whatever, and he'd wrap his long arms around my mom. And whenever I saw that action happening, I was on that.
I would work my way into that thing. Sometimes I had to push a little bit harder than other times, but I would find my way until I was right in the middle between mom and dad. And if they thought I was trying to split them up, no, this is not a time to split up.
We are just starting. So I would get in the middle, and now I'm ready for a public display of affection. The only problem was, I kept growing.
Eventually, my dad comes to me, he takes me aside, he says, Bobby, he says, there are times that I would like to show a little affection to your mother. And I don't always want you in the middle. Well, I'm 52 years old now, and now I get it.
Okay, I can do the math now. All right, having 110 pounds jammed between you and your wife. I get it now.
Okay, not exactly romantic. So now I can connect the dots. But back then, I was like, talk to the hand.
I was like, I will not. I don't know what you're talking about right now, dad. Whatever is bothering you, all I know is you're doing the public display of affection.
Sign me up. I am definitely gonna be a part of this thing. I'm 52 years old, and nothing's changed.
I get sprinkled with the blood of Christ, come in with boldness. It's me again, your favorite. I've come to burn in holiness.
I come into the throne room, and the first thing I see when I come into the throne room, the father, the son seated at his right hand, the first thing I see when I look at the throne, is affection. The father and the son wrapped around each other in a fiery love embrace of everlasting affection that is so fiery, so hot, so intense that the scripture says three are one. And I don't even know how to represent it for you in a way that even starts to do justice to the extravagance of the passion that's in the heart of Abba, father, for his son.
I hear Abba saying to his son, son, you laid your life down for me. I offered you a bitter cup, and you drank it to the bottom. You laid your life down for me unto death, and son, my heart is yours forever.
And I hear the son going back to the father, Abba. But Abba, when I was in my lowest place, when I was in the pit of hell, when the sorrows of Sheol were wrapped around my brain like seaweed, you reached into my pit, and you lifted me up from my pit, and you have set me again at your right hand. And Abba, my heart is yours forever.
The fire, the passion, the loyalty that exists between the father and the son, it is a consuming fire. There's one verse that says, God sits in a throne of fire, beloved. What they are exchanging on the throne of God is a fiery, intimate love exchange, a loyalty to each other.
And when I see that kind of affection, sign me up. I am definitely going to get in on this love exchange. Make my way in to the very holiest place of the universe, the love embrace of Abba and the Lord Jesus Christ.
And I don't stop till I'm right in the center of their embrace. Then when I get in the middle of that love exchange, turn around, sit down with Christ in heavenly places. Now, Abba to my left, Jesus to my right.
And I figure, if Abba has anything he wants to say to Jesus, he's going to have to go through me. And if Jesus wants to say anything to Abba, he's going to have to go through me. And I'm in the middle to receive all the affection.
Jesus Christ himself said,
John 17, the love that the father has for me, he now has that same love for you. Can you grasp the glory of it? That Abba father feels about you with the same fire, the same loyalty, the same passion that he has for his son. He now has the same thing for you.
And now here I am between father and son receiving the affections of both of them. Could it get any better than this? Sprinkle with the blood of Christ, coming into the holiest with boldness, stepping into the very love circle of the Trinity. Now, turn around, sit down in the bosom of Abba father, leaning on the breast of Christ, burning on a fiery throne with my beloved God.
Could it get any better than this? But wait, it does. Because as I'm here in the bosom of the father, leaning on the breast of Christ, I look ahead and the first thing I see when I look ahead, yes, there's angels. Yes, there's a sea of glass.
Yes, there's a rainbow. Yes, there's elders. But the first thing I see when I look ahead,
Revelation 4 verse 5, seven flames of fire that burn before the throne of God, which are the seven spirits of God.
And now here's what I like to do. I take those seven fires of the Holy Spirit and I pull them into my bosom and I say, Holy Spirit, come into me now. Enter me with all seven of your fires and set me ablaze with the very fire of God.
Fire of God, enter me now. Help me to love Abba the way I should. Help me to be a chaste virgin for Jesus Christ the way I should.
Holy Spirit, come into me now with all of your fire, set me ablaze with the very jealous, fiery passions of God and I pull the Holy Spirit into my bosom. There's a scripture that says, give me a moment here to find it. Can a man take fire to his bosom and his clothes not be burned? I take this fire into my bosom and I pray, may the old clothes of my old life be burned away and let nothing be left but a burning, fiery passion for the face of Jesus Christ.
Let me just take a little bunny trail for a moment. Point number C. I want to say this to pastors, to worship leaders, to leaders in the body of Christ around the world. I want to say this.
People don't come to listen to you. They come to watch you. Jesus asked about John the Baptist.
He asked the people, what did you go out to see? Ask them a second time. What did you go out to see? Jesus asked them a third time. What did you go out into the wilderness to see? Jesus was acknowledging people didn't go out to the wilderness to hear John the Baptist.
They went out to see John the Baptist because he was a burning and shining lamp who was ablaze with the zeal of God and everybody likes a bonfire. So they went out to the wilderness to watch this guy who was burning with a fiery zeal for God. Get on fire for God and people will come to watch you burn.
They're not coming to your church to listen to you. They're coming to watch you, which is why I sometimes wonder, why do we, when I say to worship teams, why do we put so often 98% of our effort into how we sound? When they're not even coming for that, they don't even care. What they're looking for is, is there anyone with a fire in their bosom? Is there anyone who has a reality in God that is burning with something they've gotten from the throne of God? Lord Jesus, put a fire in our hearts.
Lord, I want to live in this place. I want to get sprinkled with blood every day, come into the throne room with boldness, live in your holiness, and burn with the holy fire in your presence.
Psalm 15 says, Lord, who may abide in your tabernacle, who may dwell in your holy hill, goes on to describe who that person is.
In verse 5, it says, he who does these things shall never be moved.
Psalm 15 is saying, the one who lives in the holiest, the one who lives in the bosom of Abba, who comes into the presence of God and stays there in holiness, he shall never be moved. And I said, Lord, I don't ever want to be moved from this thing.
I want to live before you. You can take away my ministry. You can take away my title.
You can take away my position. You can take away my microphone. You can even take away my voice.
But there's one thing you can't take from me. You can't take away from me my stand before the throne of God. All my days, I'm going to get sprinkled with blood.
I'm not going to neglect it. I'm not going to despise it. I'm going to honor the blood of Christ, get sprinkled with blood, come in with boldness, and stay there.
Scripture says, he shall not be moved. After this happened to me, my life became a string of resignations. I quit this, quit that, quit that.
Finally, the last thing we did, we moved 1,100 miles from upstate New York to Kansas City, Missouri. Hello, where is Missouri? And I said, Lord, how can you say he shall not be moved? I've been moved from every ministry I've held. I've been moved from every title, every position.
What's more? I've been moved 1,100 miles across the nation to Kansas City, Missouri. How can you say he shall not be moved? Holy Spirit came back and said, have you been moved from before my throne? I said, Lord, I shall never be moved by the grace of God. If you will help me, nothing shall ever move me from before the throne of God.
All my days I will get sprinkled with blood, come in with boldness, enter the holiest, and stay there. Now, before this session is closed, I just want to give you an invitation, if you want to just do it with me, like a practice run. Okay, I'm just, I'm going to take us through the steps of what I do in coming into the throne room.
And if you want to go there, I'm inviting you to come with me if you want, all right? So get comfortable right now. I want you to put your Bible aside, put your notebook aside. Some of you watching this on DVD, you're in a home somewhere, and you might want to maybe sit on the carpet or on the floor.
Those of you here, if you want to find a comfortable place somewhere else than your seat, you're welcome to. I just want you to get comfortable and close yourself in right now. This is going to be a personal time with you and the Lord.
So just get yourself closed in. And for me, it starts with a very simple prayer. You can pray it with me if you want.
Lord Jesus, sprinkle me now with your blood. And I see by faith the blood of Christ on my life. Now I am righteous before God.
And it qualifies me. Righteousness gives me boldness to come into the holiest. And so now here I come, Abba, with confidence into the very holiest.
I step into the throne room. I see the Father and the Son seated at his right hand. Now for me, I just like to make my way between them.
And if you want to go there, you're welcome right now. Just make your way between Abba and the Lord Jesus. And I don't stop till I'm right in the middle of their embrace.
Now I turn around, sit down with Christ in heavenly places. Abba on my left. Jesus on my right.
And many times I just like to say a few words to Abba. You might want to talk to him right now also. Abba, how did I get here? Abba, this was your idea.
You came up with a way to bring me into your bosom. You gave your best so that I could come into your bosom and love you. Abba, this was your idea.
You are the best Father. You provide for me. You protect me.
You give me identity. You've given me an inheritance in Jesus Christ. Abba, you are the consummate perfect Father.
And I bless you, Abba. You're my Father. Sometimes I just like to talk to Jesus while I'm here.
Sometimes I actually will lean a little bit to my right as I consider that he's here in my right hand as someone of mine says. So I lean a little bit to the right. Jesus, my beloved.
Fairest of 10,000. Altogether lovely. My king, my priest, my bridegroom, my beloved, my deliverer, my strong tower, my living word.
Lord Jesus, you are altogether everything to me. Every time I see something new about you, Lord, it causes my heart to burn all over again. Jesus, you are the light of my eyes.
You are the love of my heart. I'm a spouse to you. I've pledged my heart to you.
We're getting married. Beloved lover of my soul, Jesus Christ, you have courted me. You have won me.
You have exhilarated my heart with the wine of your love. I am yours forever. And sometimes I like to talk to the Holy Spirit.
I look ahead and I see seven flames of fire before the throne of God, which are the seven spirits of God. Now I say, Holy Spirit, come into me. I'm asking you, Holy Spirit, enter my bosom now with all seven of your fires.
Spirit of wisdom, spirit of might, spirit of counsel, spirit of knowledge and of understanding, spirit of the fear of the Lord, come into me, Holy Spirit, with your word of wisdom, word of knowledge, gift of faith, gifts of healings, the working of miracles, with prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues. Holy Spirit, come into me now with all your fruit, your love, your joy, your peace, your longsuffering, your kindness, your goodness, your gentleness, your self-control. Holy Spirit, come into me now.
Jesus said, Holy Spirit, that you would help me, and I'm asking for help now. Come into me and help me, Holy Spirit. Help me to burn with the very flame of God.
Help me to be a loyal son to Abba, Father. Give me power inside of my inner man that Christ might dwell inside of me by faith. I'm asking, Holy Spirit, that you would fill me with all the love of Christ, the length, the height, the depth, the width, that I might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Holy Spirit, come into me now. Cause your love and your fire and your fellowship to be mine in the love of God, showing to the grace of Jesus Christ, living in the communion of the Holy Spirit. Here we are in the very holiest of the universe, because of the blood of Christ.
How beautiful, this is glorious, and I want you, maybe when you stop playing this DVD, you just might want to go back and just spend some time in the bosom of Abba, leaning on the breast of Christ, enjoying the fire of the Holy Spirit. Let me close with one final verse.
Jeremiah 30 verse 21 says this, For who is this who pledged his heart to approach me, says the Lord.
Now, when I came to this verse,
Jeremiah 30 21, I had been coming into the throne room every day for quite a while. I've been practicing this. It had become a daily routine for me, getting sprinkled with blood, coming into the throne room, living in holiness.
And then I came across this verse,
Jeremiah 30 21, where the prophet or the Lord says, Who is this who pledged his heart to approach me? And it was like the Holy Spirit said to me, Okay, Bob, you have a resolve of heart to get sprinkled every day and live in my holiness. You have resolve. Would you like to upgrade it to a pledge? I had to think about that for a while, because I don't go around making vows with God every day of the week.
It's just not something you do every day of the week. A vow is a very, very precious thing. I think I've got like maybe five total I've ever made to God.
And so I'm like, Whoa, and I had to think about it because I don't want to make a vow to God and then not follow through. And as I prayed and meditated, it just seemed to me there was a grace from heaven, an invitation. Lord was saying, If you want to say yes to a Bob, I want to give you the grace to make a pledge in your heart to get sprinkled with blood every day and come into my holiness and stay there.
I took a few days with that invitation, but there was grace on it. And I eventually said, Okay, Lord, I made a pledge in my heart every day of my life to get sprinkled with blood and come in with boldness into the holiest. Never again a day outside His holiness.
Somebody says, Well, what about a day off? A day outside His presence, that's not a day off. That's stress. So I've made a pledge in my heart.
I just offer it for you to pray about and consider. Would the grace of God be there for you to make a pledge in your heart? I will come into the holiest by the authority of the blood of Christ every day and stay there. May this grace be yours.
Amen. God bless you.
