Bob George (1938–2018). Born in 1938 in the United States, Bob George was an American radio host, author, and Bible teacher who founded People to People Ministries in Dallas, Texas. Raised in a nominally Christian home, he converted at 36 in 1974 after years as a successful businessman, finding freedom in Christ’s grace. In 1977, he left his career to start the ministry, hosting the People to People radio broadcast, later renamed Classic Christianity Radio, offering practical biblical insights to callers across North America. His book Classic Christianity (1989), sold over 650,000 copies in 27 languages, emphasizing grace over legalism, though his Arminian-leaning views, particularly on free will and forgiveness, sparked debate among theologians. George authored other works like Growing in Grace (1991) and Faith That Pleases God (1999). Married to Amy, whose memoir Goodbye Is Not Forever inspired many, he had two children and four grandchildren. George died in 2018 in Dallas, saying, “Jesus Christ is your only hope of glory.”
