What Are Goals of Faith?

God lives and works today. He is the God who does miracles and who will do them in our lives, too, if we only set goals of faith. What is a goal of faith? The answer is in today's meditation by Basilea Schlink.

Do you know what it means to set goals of faith? As Christians, we believe in Jesus and seek to trust him, but very few know what goals of faith are. However, without setting up goals of faith in our lives, we won't experience anything of Jesus' resurrection victory or the miracles that he wants to work today in the lives of his own as the almighty victor. One day, our mother, Basilea, told us a story that pierced my heart like an arrow.

A rich man had several large estates in his possession. One day, some refugee farmers came to him in distress. He received them in a friendly way and said to them, You can have as much land as you can cultivate.

Set the boundaries that you want to have. But my gift is a one-time only offer. Later, you can't ask for any more.

Therefore, think it over well. So the farmers set the boundaries with posts for the land that they thought they could use. But then they became uncertain.

Would they have enough strength to till all that land? Had they taken too much land? So they settled for less. But oh, a few years later, they found out that it was much too small for their families. Their contentedness had proved to be disastrous.

I saw myself in this story. I too had placed my boundary goals of faith too low. This story went deep into my heart, and I could see how dangerous it was for me to become so easily contented.

I said to myself, It can't stay this way. From now on, I want to bring my impossibilities to the Lord daily and say to him, I know your heart is sure. It is a rock secure.

What you say comes about. Of that there is no doubt. Yes, the greater our goals of faith are, the more we will experience the victory of Jesus, His power, and His miracles.

Therefore, let us fix our eyes upon the Prince of Victory, Jesus Christ, and have a goal of faith for our problems. If we have a sinful trait from which we want to be freed, we must claim Jesus' words, If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. Perhaps we can stop here for a minute and think of all the points where we continually fail and where we haven't experienced Jesus' victory.

From today on, let's praise Jesus as the victor and redeemer over these problems and bondages. Or perhaps you're bitter towards a person in your family or at work. From today on, set a goal of faith.

Here, the love of Jesus must be victorious. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Life. In Him is victory, joy, and resurrection.

If we are united with Him in faith, His powers of life and victory will flow into us. Therefore, blessed is he who has goals of faith. He will receive what he has believed.
