God lives and works today. Whoever completely surrenders his life to the Lord Jesus will experience surprises daily because God can change everything. Yes, He can transform everything, even turn loss into gain.
Today's program, To Follow the Lamb, is a testimony about this from the life of Basilea Schlink. At the beginning of our sisterhood, we all lived together in the attic of a one-family house. Soon there were 25 sisters, and space proved to be a serious problem.
There were also other girls who were waiting to join the sisterhood. We had received permission to build another building in the spacious backyard, but then someone objected to this plan, although the objection wasn't grounded. Should we relinquish our rights and be put out on the street? Whoever forsakes house and lands for his name's sake resounded in my heart.
Follow the Lamb, Jesus, who did not revile and return when He was reviled, and did not insist upon His rights. I was determined to go the way of renunciation and sacrifice, believing firmly in His pledge that now He would act in some way to take care of us and to fulfill His word, you shall receive a hundredfold of everything you have forsaken. And so it happened.
Today, for our ministry in the kingdom of God, we have 22 acres of land, and not only one house, but eight large houses. Yes, in wonderful ways, ways which our human hearts could never have contrived, He repays a hundredfold. Sacrifice you came to offer, I give myself anew.
Grant me the grace to surrender, that man in me may see you. It's really true. Fulfilled life, even in the way of earthly goods and riches, can be obtained by sacrificing.
And indeed, out of dying comes life, out of giving comes abundance and wealth. These are realities. What Jesus said has proved to be true.
You can check this out in thousands of cases. Therefore, lose your life and what you consider most necessary for a full and worthwhile life, and you will gain the completeness of a full life, lived in God, and drawing upon His endless riches. Bind me to you, my dear Jesus, I then will give you all.
Gladly my treasures surrender, even those I love most of all. Sacrifice now, my life shall be, my strength and time, my all. My life I give you entirely, yield everything when you call.
