God lives and works today, and one of the greatest miracles that He performs in our lives is that He opens our eyes to recognize our true home. The home where we will dwell for all eternity. Listen to today's meditation by Basilia Schlink called, There is My Home.

Perhaps you honestly don't have much to thank God for at the moment. You can't thank Him for your good health because you're sick. You can't thank Him for fulfilling your wishes because He hasn't fulfilled them.

And you can't thank Him for your loved ones because they're the ones who are making life so difficult right now. However, there is one thing we can always rejoice and be thankful about. The wonderful present that our Heavenly Father has given us.

For out of love to us, He let Jesus be crucified so that heaven might be ours. Heaven where eternal joy is awaiting us. I count every hour till that day begins.

When I am redeemed from all grief, pain, and sins. Jerusalem's gates I will enter. I think of that day, I think of that day, And rejoice and sing.

And fear not the sufferings this world may bring. For grief will be changed then to glory. Yes, we may look forward to this day right now.

Directing our eyes and hearts towards it in the certainty that Jesus' sacrifice has opened heaven for us. This certainty is a help for us in all of our suffering. Even in the suffering which we must endure because of our sins.

And remember, sin not only destroys our lives here on earth. But also excludes us from the joy of heaven. And drives us into the kingdom of hell for all eternity.

How can we be sad when we know that we have been saved from the terror of hell. And when we know that one joy can never be taken away from us. Through the forgiveness of our sins, heaven has been opened.

After this brief life on earth, the glory of God awaits us. So lift up your heart in praise. Heaven is open.

The joy of heaven will enter your heart already here on earth. And then you will have the strength to overcome in every difficulty. Beautiful heaven, if once a soul is given.

A glimpse of paradise, earth's charm soon fades and dies. Heaven's glory bright, such wondrous holy light. All sorrow, pain and more, at sight of you must come.

Heaven calls to me. I long my Lord to see. My heart for Father yearns.
