We can experience God's goodness today by trusting in him and reckoning upon his help.
In this sermon, Basil E. Ischlink addresses the concerns of living in a rapidly advancing technological world that is also facing potential catastrophe. He reassures believers that in the midst of this uncertainty, God is still present and active. Ischlink encourages listeners to trust in God's love and power, and to rely on Him through prayer. He emphasizes that God is a true Father who is ready to help those who believe in His love and who count on His almighty power. Ischlink concludes by reminding Christians to rejoice in the Lord always, even in the face of trouble, because they can find strength and peace in God's goodness.

God lives and works today, but can we really experience his goodness today in the face of our degenerating society? Today's meditation by Basilia Schlenk gives a helpful word to these questions. We live today in a time like none before. The world is moving rapidly towards a peak of technological development.
In all fields, man is grasping after the tools of power and control. Yet, at the same time, we're running towards unimaginable catastrophe. A fear and a horror of that which is coming has, perhaps to some extent unconsciously, laid its grip on mankind.
Mankind stands in the face of a future with no answer. What or who will be there to help when catastrophe strikes? Scientists and statesmen have given no answer. Yet, for Christians, the dark night of the future is lit by a brilliant star, the goodness of God the Father.
Father of goodness, of goodness, Father of goodness, we praise with a cherubim and seraphim. God is but goodness, but goodness alone. And all his heart full of goodness great, yea, God is goodness, goodness alone.
Father of goodness, of goodness, Father of goodness. In the midst of a fear-ridden age, a strangely contrasting word belongs to the Christian. Rejoice in the Lord always.
Yes, rejoice. Here and now in the atomic age, you who believe in a living God, who is a Father to us, in our Lord Jesus. For in our time, God, as a true Father, will show us his help and his wonders as never before.
If we call out to him in deep need, put our trust in him, and in prayer actually reckon upon his help. For he stands ready to help those who believe in his love, who truly count upon his almighty power, who truly reckon that he still works miracles today. In the day of catastrophe, he can protect us.
When we truly reckon with his almighty God, the Father of love, then in the midst of fear we can know strength and peace. Therefore start now to trust him as a small child. Trust him today.
Count on his power and help today, and you will experience it. Heavenly Father, I am thy child. Tell me, is there anything in the world more blessed? How can trouble, hurt, or harm while I rest within God's arm? God esteems me precious.
