God lives and works today. Would you like to experience His reality in your everyday life? Do you wish that God would answer your prayers so that you too could testify that God lives and works today? The following program by Basilea Schlink tells how you can actually experience His intervention, for it gives an answer to the very important question, when does God answer prayer? What a tremendous power God has given us by allowing us to pray to Him. If only we realize the potential of this privilege.

Throughout history, incredible changes have been effected upon nations, families and within the Kingdom of God through prayer. Unfortunately, most of us experience far too little of its power in our lives. Why? Complete victory is promised only to an earnest prayer.

But what is earnest prayer? It is the opposite of frivolous, superficial prayer. When we are not earnest in our prayers, we are like a child playing with a toy. The child may be delighted over the toy today, but tomorrow the same toy is thrown into a corner and forgotten.

An earnest prayer is a persevering one. I will struggle in prayer, sacrificing my time and energy. To pray earnestly means to faithfully endure in prayer until God's answer comes.

A man named George Muller prayed this way. On his prayer list stood over a hundred names, some of which he had brought before the Lord daily for 30 to 50 years. It was because he endured in prayer that he could also experience such wonderful help and provision for his hundreds of orphans.

And towards the end of his life, only two of Muller's prayers were still unanswered. Two people on his list had not yet found the Lord, but the one was converted through Muller's last sermon and the other through his funeral. God does answer our earnest prayers.

Such prayer has a definite goal in mind and sets about with great zeal and determination to accomplish that goal. It doesn't give up until the victory has been won. Our Lord is a true Father.

And like any loving Father, He is glad when His child comes to Him with a serious concern. In His love, He will consider the concern worthwhile and holy, simply because it's so important to His child. And He will intervene.

Remember the words of James chapter 5. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results. Each one of us can experience this through faith in our Lord Jesus and earnest prayer. And so to Him who made and ruleth all will final one supply it.

There ne'er was one who came to harm who trusted in the Father's arm that is His own true promise. He freely gives all what we need from anxious fears we too are freed He loves us all in His children. This program by Basilea Schlink has come to you from the little land of Canaan.
