God lives and works today. There is nothing more wonderful in life than to experience God's reality from day to day and to be united with Him in love, for then suffering loses its power over us and prayers are answered. Listen to today's program by Basilia Schlenk called At One with the Will of God.
Have you ever had a clock which always seemed to go too fast or too slow? As far as God is concerned, our clock is almost always too fast or too slow. For example, when we are impatient we often think, I've had enough, now God really has to change these circumstances. Our clock always seems to run differently than God's, and yet, who among us has the right time with respect to what God does, with respect to His answers to prayer? Mother Basilia once shared with us her answer to these questions.
She writes, There was a time in my life when I could no longer understand God's actions, that is, I could not understand why He did not intervene and take away my suffering. I was unhappy and my heart wanted to protest. Then it seemed as though someone were asking me, whose clock, that is, whose will and timing is right, yours or God's? Who is in charge of your life, you or God? Who is Lord? I answered, God the Father.
And who is the child? I answered, I am. It seemed as though the questioning continued. Who is the creator? I answered, God.
And who is the created one? I answered, I am. Therefore, it is His clock, that is, His will and timing that is valid. If I am only a created being, a child, I cannot possibly understand the mighty will of God.
I'm too small and too poor, and my knowledge is too limited. Then I began to praise the will of God in song. As I praised the will of God in this way, my heart became quiet.
I set the clock of my heart according to the right time, according to the clock of God, and I surrendered my will to His. Now I can testify by saying, yes, to the will of God, suffering lost its power over me. Yes, in the dedication of the will, there is great power and release.
Throughout the years of my life, I've experienced that whenever I've set my time standards according to His, and have committed myself to His will, this brought me peace and joy. Even if it meant suffering at first, it always turned into joy later. God loves you and me, and only has the best in mind for us, that I can testify to.
However, only those who commit their wills and all their wishes to God, will experience His love and aid, and all that He wants to give us.
