Anthoni Erfordter, a convert of two Anabaptist messengers, endured immense suffering and persecution for his faith, leaving behind his family to flee to Moravia. In his song written in 1541, he expresses the challenges faced by believers who are persecuted for honoring God's name, yet find strength in surrendering everything to Christ, their captain. Despite facing opposition, abandonment, and even death, believers are encouraged to stand firm, knowing that their souls belong to God and that He will defend them with His glorious power.
