To be perfect in all the will of God is to live in obedience to Him, placing everything under His rule and experiencing true rest and blessedness.
Andrew Murray emphasizes the profound concept of being 'Perfect in all the will of God,' which connects our heavenly aspirations with our earthly lives. He explains that true perfection lies in aligning our will with that of the Creator, as seen in nature and the obedience of angels. The ultimate example is Jesus, who achieved perfection through obedience and submission to God's will, leading to true rest and fulfillment. This call to live under God's rule challenges us to obey Him in every aspect of our lives.
Text
'Perfect in Christ.' This thought is so unearthly and divine that its full meaning eludes our grasp. It makes us think of our life in Christ and heaven. 'Perfect in all the will of God.' This thought brings us down to earth and daily life; it reminds us that we must place everything under God's rule, and calls us to live in his will, obeying him in our every action and attitude.
The perfection of the creature is simply this: to will the will of the Creator. Nature has its beauty and glory in being the expression of the divine will. The angels fulfill their purpose by doing God's will in heaven. The Son of God was perfected through learning obedience, through giving himself up to the will of God, which is the only place of true rest and blessedness.
