The sermon emphasizes the glory of the Triune God and the need for revival to restore the full Christian life.
Andrew Murray emphasizes the ultimate glory of God in the final consummation of all things, where Christ delivers the kingdom to the Father, highlighting that God will be all in all. He stresses that the essence of the Christian life is to aim for this divine glory, which is made possible through the Holy Spirit given to believers. Murray calls for a revival that seeks to understand and embrace the fullness of God, who is the source, sustainer, and ultimate claim of all things.
Text
This will be the highest glory of the final consummation of all things, when the Son shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, and shall himself be subject, unto him that put all things under him, and God shall be all in all. It was for this the Son lived and died and rose again.
It is for this for which he gave his people his Holy Spirit. The only true and full Christian life is that which makes this its aim. It is to restore nothing less the revival must be sought for. Let us, as a preparation for our prayer for revival, try to take what it means - this wonderful glory of the three-in-one God. Of him, and through him, and to him, are all things. He is all. He works all. He claims all.
