Welcome to the Lord's Challenge, our weekly quarter-hour broadcast, bringing the reality of God's Word to all people everywhere. Stay tuned as Joshua Daniel challenges us to a walk with God and the corresponding impact that will have on our lives, families, and society today. Let us turn to Isaiah chapter 21. Sixth verse, For thus said the Lord unto me, Go set a watchman, and let him declare what he seeth. Go set a watchman, and let him declare. The watchman saw a chariot, and he cried, A lion, my lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime. I am set in my ward whole nights, and so on. And in the eleventh verse, there is a further call. Watchman, what of the night? You know, in Isaiah chapter 56, this is what God says. Tenth verse, His watchmen are blind. They are all ignorant. They are all dumb dogs. They cannot bark. I have not met a dumb dog yet. I hope you didn't choose one to be your watchdog. Well, you know, but here, his watchmen are blind and dumb, sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. They are greedy dogs, which can never have enough. Shepherds that cannot understand. They all look to their own way. Now the characteristics of these people. They all look to their own way, every one for his gain and from his quarter. Every one to his own gain. You know, somehow when you're a student, all you know is your books. As my president of my college said to me, in this course which you have chosen, you have time for nothing else except your books. No time for your evangelistic work. He told me plainly. But my response to that was, okay, if you are the head of my department and you already know so much about me, I will switch colleges. So I moved out of that college to the university college, where the professors didn't care. I said, I don't want to be under the scrutiny of my this president and have no liberty to be preaching the word of God. So my dear friends, every one for his own gain and from his quarter. You know, that's all that matters today. Some of us are watching history unfolding. History in reverse across the Atlantic. A nation pursuing a stubborn course, setting upon their hearts upon extinction and destruction. You know, back in 1643, when the New England states colonies came together in the New England Confederation, this is what they said in their constitution. We all came with one and the same end in view. We all came with the one end in view. What was that end? To advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ. That's what they said. And today, our president stands up and says, this is a country of various religions. Nobody to seem to hold him to account. That it was he was speaking in contempt of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court, after studying all the original documents, had passed the verdict in 1892. This is a Christian nation. You know, if somebody says that in England or America today, everybody will frown. So what have you to be ashamed of Christian values? Truth, integrity, love, no cooking of your books. What have you against Jesus? They hated him without a cause. See, when I see history reversing itself back to barbarity, when our streets have become so dangerous that you must have keep your doors shuttered and locked. My dear friends, of course, this is not a Christian nation. How sad. After all, we have two telecasts in the week of half an hour each. I was considering, are these telecasts proving to be too hard and too expensive? And then the telecast in Germany, Dusseldorf, and the telecast from Paris. And all the time we are adding to our telecasts. But I say to myself, I have to come closer to Jesus. I need to be more like Jesus. And from one region, our telecast is so much in demand that the station is repeating the telecast several times. So my dear friends, these words going out over the air are being received by a lot of people. And you know what I want to see? He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107 and verse 20. Delivered them from their destructions. What should happen? People should be healed and transformed. That's transformed and healed. Spirit, soul, and body. That miracle should take place. You know, folks, there used to be some great street preachers, open air preachers. Men who would go and lift up their voice. They would draw the crowds and some of them would go to the horse races. Mark you. And then one of them recorded in his diary, the horses got little attention. Why? The people were so drawn to the preaching of God's word. What is it our duty now? To denude the gospel of its power and reduce it to a commonplace crass matter? No, certainly not. God is able to make us real watch people wherever you are. You know, folks, on one occasion, I had to make a choice. I said, I am in this English department of this university, but I have not attended one of their get togethers. Though I paid my membership fee, I have not gotten to even one of their get togethers. Let me go and see what goes on. So I decided to go. But just at that time, word came to me that a senior of mine about to take the finals had got deranged and depressed. And he was in a poor state. I said, I would rather go and visit him. I will take this evening to go and pray with him. So I made my choice and went and visited him and prayed with him. And the man probably became a professor, passed his exam. But sometimes it goes against your wishes or your plans to do good. Appears to be costly. No, it's not costly. I never found it costly to go out of my way to help people. I never found it costly. Let's pray. Oh, loving father, forgive us. We have a part in this awful crime of depriving a nation of truth and integrity. Oh, my father, forgive us. Forgive me. We are called to be your disciples. Hear our prayer. In Jesus' holy name. Amen. The speaker on this program was Joshua Daniel.
