Andrew Strom

Andrew Strom (1967 – N/A) is a New Zealand preacher, author, and revivalist whose ministry has focused on calling the church to repentance and authentic biblical faith for over three decades. Born in New Zealand, specific details about his early life, including his parents and upbringing, are not widely documented, though his writings suggest a conversion experience that ignited a passion for revival. His education appears informal, centered on self-directed biblical study rather than formal theological training, aligning with his emphasis on apostolic simplicity. Strom’s preaching career began in the late 1980s, gaining prominence through founding RevivalSchool.com and the international Revival List in the 1990s, platforms amplifying his fiery sermons on repentance, the cross, and true revival—echoing figures like Leonard Ravenhill and David Wilkerson. Initially involved in the prophetic movement for 11 years, he publicly left in 2008, critiquing its excesses in books like Kundalini Warning and True & False Revival, and instead pursued street preaching and house church advocacy. His ministry, marked by warnings against false spirits and calls for a return to New Testament patterns, has taken him across New Zealand, the U.S., and beyond. Married to Jacqui since around 1987, with whom he has six children, he continues to preach and write.

Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the speaker discusses the influence of the American gospel and Jesus on other countries. He expresses concern about how American culture, including gangs and rap songs, is being perceived and emulated by youth in other nations. The speaker emphasizes the need for agonizing prayer and a heartfelt cry for God's mercy on America before it's too late. He also warns of an impending economic depression in the United States unless there is a miraculous intervention from God. The sermon references the biblical story of Lot and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah as a cautionary tale for America's moral decline.
Sermon Transcription
The emails that we've been sending out lately are all to do with agonizing prayer, agonizing prayer. I was over in Pittsburgh, there were some young people there, and honestly I had not ever heard the kind of praying these kids did. This was only two weeks ago, I believe, two or three weeks ago. And so, you know, for me personally, it was like, you know, what are these kids into? You know, I shouldn't call them kids, you know, late teens, early 20s maybe at the most. What are they reading that's giving them such a travailing prayer? How did they come to agonizing prayer, where I see, you know, 40, 50, 60 year olds that are spirit filled, I mean spirit filled for years, and they can't pray to save themselves all the time. I see that all the time. I see revival people who talk about revival all the time, they can't pray a patch on these people. You know, what's going on with that? How did they come into that? How did they get desperate for God? It's a critical question because our enemy at this moment is complacency in the West. You know, if you go to Africa and you go to Asia, huge parts of South America, in fact you can almost say the entirety of South America is in revival right now. Massive, huge revival. You go to Guatemala, they've had so many years of revival that over 60% of the people in the whole nation, over 60% are spirit filled Christians. That's from the latest statistics that I was told recently. It's the most revived nation. Brazil is close behind. I'm talking about a huge nation of 100 million plus people, I believe, in Brazil. You know, we have no idea what it's like to live in that kind of hunger. We live in such complacency, and I include all of us who call ourselves committed Christians. All of us who are the ones, if anybody's going to turn up, you know, are going to turn up to the prayer meeting if there is one in the church or whatever. You know, I'm talking about those kind of Christians, even we who call ourselves or think of ourselves as more committed or whatever you like to call it. We're incredibly complacent. We don't know what hunger is. We don't know what it's like to get in a prayer meeting and pray for eight hours or whatever it is, or pray right through the night. We just, that kind of hunger is lost. We're, you know, it's lost on us. We're just far too comfortable for that. What I want to really preach tonight, and I want it to be a stirring message, is the state that we're in and why it is that we should be praying with a lot more fervency than we are. And my view is quite simple. It is really this, that if we do not find that kind of prayer which has birthed every single revival in the history of the United States, if we don't find that kind of prayer again, we're not going to get a revival. If we can't see people praying that way, and it can't be just a small group of 10 young people from California, it cannot be that. It's got to be, there's got to be a massive prayer or we ain't going to make it into revival because I tell you what, we're already way behind the rest of the world. The poor people, as Jesus said, he said, the prostitutes and the poor and the, you know, the so on, they're entering the kingdom before you, he said to the, you know, to the righteous ones who thought they had it together. He said, you guys, you know, it's a righteousness but it's not the kind of righteousness I'm looking for. These people that were way behind are entering into the kingdom ahead of you. And America is exactly in that position. America's had years of wonderful preachers. We've had years in this country, I'm aware of it from being overseas, years where America would send out preachers all over the world and people would flock to hear them. Generally, they were thought of as the best preachers on earth. The American preachers could go all over the world. Well, I want to, I want to say to you, those days are gone. You know, in most, there's hardly an American preacher I'm interested in hearing. Almost none. I could count them pretty much on one hand. Why? Because they just don't walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. If I want to, if I want to hear a fireball of a preacher, most times now, I've got to go listen to an African guy. I've got to go listen to a South American guy. That's pretty, that's pretty shameful considering that for generations, hundreds of years, America was the powerhouse of God. Apart from Wales, America was a powerhouse of God. Charles Finney and Jonathan Edwards, you know, George Whitefield spent most of his life here preaching up a storm. Gilbert Tennant, some of the most powerful anointed men in the history of the world were American preachers. That's just not the case. We've lost it. We've given it away. We've allowed the devil to just come and allow complacency to rob us. We're fatter than we've ever been. We're richer than we've ever been. We're more complacent and more materialistic than we've ever been. We have bigger Christian bookshops than we've ever had. And we've substituted somehow that for real Christianity, where you get in and you pray your guts out for your country. You just seek God until the fire falls. You know, all those old songs, you have to go back a while in the Pentecostal circles now, and you talk about all these old songs, you know, let the fire fall. Man, those guys knew how to pray. You just don't find it anymore. What happens in Pentecostal churches now, it's just the same level of Christianity as everywhere else. You go to church on Sunday at 10 a.m., you sing your songs, you listen to the preacher, you pay the tithe, and you go home. And that has become Pentecostal Christianity. Well, I don't know, that's like, to me, it's like taking the Pentecost out of Pentecostal. Can you turn with me in scripture, please, to Genesis 18? One of the myths that we have, this is particularly strong in the United States. I guess it used to be true far more than it is now. The myth that we have is that we're doing pretty well. We're a pretty good country. We've got a lot of people attending church. We've got a role in the world that, you know, used to stand for righteousness. Fifty years ago, America was one of the few countries on earth that was truly, and in every way, opposing evil. No question about that. America stood in the path of communism. America stood in the path of atheism and all kinds of things, humanism, just stood in the way and said, no, I'm sorry, we're not going for those things. We stand for, you know, we're going to continue our going to church. We're going to continue to be a nation that's basically built on righteousness from centuries ago. Fifty years ago, that was the case in America. I want to tell you, we have utterly lost that to a huge degree. And we just, most of us Christians don't travel in the right circles to really see how bad things have got. We just don't. We avert our eyes from things and quite rightly so. We avert our eyes from the world out there, which has gone so far down. Let's just start with this story anyway. Let's get into Genesis 18. Of course, this story is the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. I was listening to a brother, David, a friend of mine, a couple of weeks ago, speaking on this very passage. And this is a story of a classic story of God's judgment being brought against people who are simply not walking in righteousness, but more than that, committing what God would The word abomination is an interesting one. It seems to be reserved for the worst kind of sin, the kind of sin that got the whole world flooded in Noah's day, the kind of sin, in this case, homosexuality and rape. Homosexual rape is what these guys were into. This was a whole culture that had literally abandoned God to such a degree. It had gone down a road that God could not leave these cities in the earth. He had to destroy them. Listen to this. It's very interesting. Genesis 18 verse 20. And the Lord said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous, I will go down now and see whether they've done altogether according to the cry of it, which has come up to me. And if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces from there and went towards Sodom. Okay. So what God's saying there is there's a cry that goes up when abomination is being committed in the earth. There's almost a noise of it in heaven. God is hearing this horrible thing that sometimes hundreds of years will go by between periods of time when humans fall to such a degree that they are what God would call an abomination. Okay. And the cry of it starts to get louder in his ears. It becomes a clamor in his ears. And God is a holy God. And he certainly didn't create humans to live in that. And so whatever the abomination is, and in this case, homosexual sin, it doesn't matter what it is, but there are several abominations, and this is certainly one of the loudest in God's ears. He said, I'm going to go down and see if it's as bad as I have been hearing, because if it is, I can do nothing but destroy these people. It is out of character for God to leave abomination in the earth. Sin of the usual variety, which is occurring all over the earth every day. He can put up with the wall for a while. Why? Because he knows that a set day is appointed for judgment and he will deal with all of that then. But with abomination, God becomes extremely urgent in his actions. And he starts to look and he starts to go, I'm going to have to do something about this because I cannot stand to have this in the earth and especially spreading from city to city to city. If I leave it, it's going to spread and spread. Okay. And this is the situation that he's in here because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great. And because their sin is very grievous, I will go down now and see whether they've done according to the cry of it, which has come up to me. Okay. Then Abraham says to God, you know, he basically does a bargain with them. We're not going to go through all that, but basically God, Abraham basically gets God to agree that if there's 10 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, that he will not destroy the cities. And, and obviously Abraham at that point feels like he can't go any further down. He argues God down 40 and then 30 and 20 and finally 10 people. And he says, God, if there's 10 people you can find in there and God says, okay, I won't destroy it if I find that. Okay. So they come, the angels, it appears that they were angels, even though the Lord basically was saying, I'm going to, you know, it seems that he sent angels into the cities and we're not going to read it because it's, it's lengthy, but I just want to tell you what happened just in case you don't know what happened. These angels arrive in there. There's, there's basically only one righteous man in the whole city and his name is Lot. He's, he's Abraham's nephew. And he quickly grabs these angels and takes them into his house quickly because he knows if he lets them loose in the city, they're going to get attacked because you know, there's literally homosexual gangs in the city, attacking people, raping them, you know, all that kind of awful what's going on. And so literally what he does is he tries and gets them inside fast. And in fact, in order to stop the attack, those angels have to blind people and so on to stop the attack happening. Okay. Now down in verse, let's get to chapter 19, verse 12. And basically the angels have made their decision. And the men said unto Lot, have you any besides yourself, son-in-law and your sons and your daughters and whatever you have in this city, get them out of here for we will destroy this place because the cry of them has waxed great before the face of the Lord. And the Lord has sent us to destroy it. Okay. So now one of the things we're going to be talking about tonight is what is Lot like compared with what the complacent people are like, what is special about Lot where God saves Lot and destroys everybody else. And I just, we'll stop reading the story there. Basically what happens is this, even to this day, if they go, it's on the plane of Shinar outside of Jerusalem. And to this day, when they go there, they find enormous sulfur deposits. They've done a lot of archeology in that area and found enormous, what does it say when God sent down the, you know, some translations call it fire and brimstone. What's brimstone? It's literally the old word for sulfur. So what it's saying is almost like a volcanic molten rock. Molten, God overthrew those two cities. He destroyed them in one day. He just absolutely annihilated them. And he took Lot out first. And the only people that would listen to Lot and would come with him was his two daughters. Everybody else was lost, including his wife who really wanted to stay. Half of her heart wanted to go and half of her heart wanted to stay and she was destroyed as well. Okay. So that's the basic story. All right. Part of the problem in the church today is we don't believe in a God of judgment. Turn with me to second Peter in the New Testament. This again is referring to Lot and why it was that God spared him, why he was counted as a righteous man amongst all of that destruction. He was pulled out of it. In other words, why did he receive salvation and the entire cities were destroyed? Now, is God a God of judgment? Well, we only have to read the Bible from cover to cover one time to start getting a fairly scary opinion of God. And it's not the lovey-dovey thing that we're preached every day. Give you an example of that. I've got a sermon which I call the Old Testament God. And the big question I ask in that sermon is, has God changed from the Old Testament who seemed to just destroy people, wipe out nations off the face of the earth who were into idolatry? He would just say, don't even stop at killing the people. I want you to kill all of the cattle. I want you to kill the sheep. I want you to kill everything, wipe them out. And we go, surely God's changed from that. You know, we say, you know, God sent Jesus and Jesus is a kind of, you know, a merciful side to God. And God's kind of changed now. And the New Testament is all about how much God has changed. Well, I want to say to you, God has not changed a bit from that. God, in fact, Jesus himself was no different to God the Father. He said, if you're seeing me, you're seeing the Father. And it says, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Is there a merciful side to God? Of course there is. Otherwise we'd all be dead. Yeah. We'd, as I say, we'd be toast. Is there a merciful side to God? Of course. But is, but is God basically a God of judgment? Is he, I believe what we've done is feminized God. We've turned God into kind of, you know, the lovely, you know, it's almost like we've, it's like they want to do in some of these modern translations. They want to translate he as she, you know what I'm saying? And we've done that in our minds with God too. We've said, you know, God is so, so lovely. You know, he's so nice. That's basically what we're saying. I just feel like going and sitting in God's lap and all that kind of stuff. And you, you know, you just, anybody who's saying that kind of thing, I kind of think, yeah, okay. Yeah. That's, that's good. I'm glad you do that. But, you know, have you read the book of Revelation lately, brother? You know, because my feeling is that when we see Jesus, we're just not going to sit in his lap. I just have a strong suspicion that the next time we see God, we'll do what John did and we'll just fall on our face and we'll be feeling lucky that we don't get incinerated. You know, we'll be feeling lucky that we're not incinerated on the spot. So our concept of God is so, is so wrong that when we come to pray to him, we're not desperate for our country. Why are we not desperate for our country? Because we, deep down, we believe God's pretty merciful and we're pretty, we're a fairly decent nation. And maybe, maybe God's going to spare us and maybe, you know, maybe things aren't going to be that bad. And, you know, things have gone pretty well up until now, even 9-11 ended up, you know, it hasn't totally destroyed the country and we've recovered from that. And, you know, we seem to handle even bad storms, you know, Katrina and, you know, it's, it's kind of like we meander along in our complacency while all the earth's in revival because they're desperate and we ain't. We're kind of, we're kind of happy, you know. Part of that is because we don't understand that there's things going on in America now which have never happened before. They're going on on a scale which is unprecedented in history and we are party to those things because we're part of the country and we don't do anything about it and we do not cry out to God with the depths of our being against it either. We're not like Lot. Listen to this about Lot. 2 Peter, this is what, this is why Lot was spared and taken out before the destruction. 2 Peter 2 verse 4. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment. I'm reading out of the NIV, by the way. So, verse 5. If he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others. Verse 6. If he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly. And if he rescued Lot, now listen to this, a righteous man who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men. And verse 8. For that righteous man, living amongst them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard. He was tormented. Some of your translations have different words for that, but basically the concept is the same in every translation. There was Lot in the midst of a generation such as we find ourselves in now, it says he was tormented by it day after day in his righteous soul, it says. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment while continuing their punishment. Okay. Now, how bad is America really compared with, say, that 50 years ago we were talking about? Fifty years ago was the last big revival in America in the 1950s, the last really huge revival. And you know, even up into the 1970s when I was growing up and watching a bit of American television that was coming in, what were the television programs that were being made? I'll tell you what they were. They were innocuous and rather silly programs such as the Brady Bunch and the Waltons and the... Yeah, a lot of you people will remember these programs on television. Little House on the Prairie, you know, and other... I mean, it's not exactly a hall of depravity and sickness, is it? And that was as recently as the 1970s. America up until the 1970s was not, generally speaking, making programs and sending them over the whole earth that corrupted the youth of every nation. I want to say to you that America today is doing that. There is no nation on the earth... Let me put before you the choices that God has here, because what we have now is a situation where one country in the earth is the home, you know, it's centered around one valley in California, the home of the vast majority of pornography ever invented on the planet. It was centered in one area close to Los Angeles in California. So the enormous problem we have with pornography now, where even 50% of pastors will say that they have got into pornography at some point, and many of them are addicted to it. That entire huge internet industry, the magazines and everything, all came out of one part of America, which has now spread it all over the earth. And we have not really very far from there, you know, Hollywood, which is busy spreading, you know, sex and violence on an unheard of scale around the world. Because this stuff is not primarily sold to Americans anymore. It's sold to Africans and Asians and New Zealanders and Australians. Those are the people who are watching this stuff all over the earth. So what God has got in this situation is this. He's saying to himself, you know, I've visited America for centuries. I love this territory because I've come down and visited this place for hundreds of years. And I remember their forefathers, how they used to pray, how they used to preach. But he's saying to himself, this nation is poisoning the earth, and I've got a scale in my hands, and the abominations are every year getting worse. Because we don't just tolerate homosexuality anymore in this country. It is celebrated to such a degree that this land has become the main propaganda arm of advancing homosexuality in the world. Who makes all of the films that show homosexuality in a positive light and spread the word about how it should be normalized? It's all done in America. Most of those movies, 90% of every sick thing that's made in the earth that's spread around the world comes from this country. You say, but, oh, okay, well, what about Christian television? You know that Christian television is spreading around the earth from America too. Surely we can put that on the other side of the balance. I say, no, no, that is balancing even worse and more on the bad side because I want to say to you that right now in South America and in Africa and Asia, all of those guys are watching TBN, and they're watching the sickest Christian garbage that the world's ever seen, where guys learn how to ... This is how the leaders in Africa start ripping their people off and gathering huge fundraising drives from their people is because they watch it on TBN. They say, that's how you have a successful ministry. Those Americans, they know how to really have a successful ministry. Look at how they gather their funds in. Look at what they preach. They talk about, if you'll give me $100, you'll get 1,000 back. They go to their people in these enormous revivals which are happening all around the world, and we're poisoning their revival. A lot of the people in these countries can't afford to watch TBN. It's usually beamed in on satellite. It's worldwide on satellite now, TBN. What's happening is the leaders are the ones who can afford to watch it, and they are imitating ... If you go to Africa, if you ever talk to a preacher who's been to Nigeria, for instance, or Ghana, or even getting into Uganda now, which is an incredible revival nation, you start saying to them, so what's the trends amongst the preachers in Uganda? The trend is they're building megachurches and making millions of dollars or the equivalent of millions of dollars in their nation. Where did they get that from? They got it from watching American television. They got it from American preachers coming over and showing them how it's done. This is how you do it. You have a three-quarters of an hour long altar call, and it's all about money. You say things like the first one up here to give ... I sense in my spirit, God really ... Number 88 is just ... First 10 people to give $88 up here. First 10 people to give $8,800 up here. On and on it goes, the worst, sickest stuff. Worse even than what Martin Luther had the reformation about. He started the reformation because priests were going around collecting money to get people out of purgatory. I want to tell you that those guys were a cheap and tacky imitation of TBN today. TBN is the absolute master at this. It's not just TBN, it's other television too. We've got our scale going here, and God is in heaven. He's saying, this is the last revival country I've got left in the Western world. He's saying they're exporting homosexuality every year to more and more countries. They're normalizing it in the whole earth. He says, every revival that I'm starting in the third world, they're poisoning it because they send the sickest, most depraved preaching into those nations on satellites. They beam it in there on satellites, and if they can't find their way in there on a satellite, they send their big guys over to do the thing in person with the big altar call for the big dollars. Then he's looking at Hollywood and the values that that's spreading around the earth. He's looking at the television programs that get made every year. Desperate Housewives, I think, is one of the most popular. What is Desperate Housewives? It's about adultery. It's an entire program about adultery. What's Sex and the City about? That's an entire program about fornication and adultery. Let's send that out amongst the nations of the earth and show how America became so rich and prosperous, shall we? Let's give them the impression that it all happened because they're sick and because they're in a race to the bottom to make themselves as bad and evil as they can be. Why do the Muslims call America the Great Satan? Because from their point of view, America is the Great Satan. They'll watch the adverts for maybe this year's Sports Illustrated, what do they call it, the Bikini Edition or whatever it is, where they get famous sports stars and stick them in skimpy bathing suits. To them, to a Muslim person looking at that, even a nominal Muslim person, that's pretty much the sickest thing you can do because they believe that woman to be covered. To them, that's totally shocking, utterly shocking that we would promote that around the earth. They just take our pictures, they just take our films, and they go and say, look at this, does not this nation deserve to die? Shall we attack their world trade centers? Yes. If we can do worse, we will. If we can wipe them off the face of the earth, we will because they are sick and they're corrupting the earth. Those Muslims are right. We're destroying the whole planet. See, I believe that the people who are travailing, and like it says in this verse here, tormenting themselves day and night in their righteous soul because of the abominations of this land, they're the only ones that have got their head together correctly. And all of us who are complacent are complete fools. And I believe that God's hand of judgment is poised over this land in a way that has never been seen. Do you know how many babies we have killed in the last 30 years? 40 million plus. 40 million plus. Has there ever been an American generation which killed babies like that? Never. Never. Has there ever been an American generation that embraced homosexuality? Never, never. It's never happened. In the last 40 years, we have seen not just a decline, but a complete abandonment to sin in this nation on a scale that God would hardly believe possible if he hadn't seen it before in Sodom and Gomorrah and back in the days of Noah. Because that's the only places you can find such things. Maybe some of the pagan nations, it says they used to pass their babies over the fire and sacrifice them to the god Molech. This was the enemies of Israel. And for that, they were utterly destroyed by God. God will not put up with that. What's the future of America at this moment? We're at a crossroads. The Christians are asleep, including the so-called revival Christians. And God's just about, he's saying, you know what, I took my hand of protection off this country for a few seconds and let the Muslim guys get through and those towers came down. And I watched the reaction. The reaction was this, a whole bunch of people got five minute religion and they rushed into the churches. And the American preachers are now so useless, so, so far fallen below the standard of what they've always had in the past that none of them could keep the people. They didn't know to even preach that it was the judgment of God. When anybody in their right mind would look at that and say, listen, America, this is the biggest wake up call you ever had. Take advantage of it. Preachers, preach it. Prayers, pray it. Keep those people in there. They need to hear from you. Do you have a message for the day? No, they're too busy preaching the junk that they always preach, how to win friends and influence people, how to get more money, how to build your character and make it slightly better than it was, how to succeed in your business, how to become a happy person. When you set that against what happened, it's no wonder that people found it a frivolous waste of time being in those churches and quickly left. Because our megachurches are built not on the gospel, not on the gospel, but on tickling people's ears and trying to gather a crowd. In fact, they literally get this. They have studies of what color to paint the inside and the outside of your church to get more people. They have studies, seriously, no joke. You can go to websites and even sometimes pay for these studies, how to arrange your parking lot so that people are more comfortable with your church and you'll build a bigger church. No joke. This is the stupidity that American Christianity has descended into in the last 20 years. And believe me, we're talking thousands, tens of thousands of people go to these churches. And God's got the scales in his hands and he's saying, okay, well, are these people committing abominations? Yes, but worse than that, they're evangelizing the abominations around the earth. And he's saying to himself, so what? What am I supposed to do? Because it's getting to the point where it's either judgment or revival and I don't hear enough crying going on. What does it talk about the children of Israel? Why were they delivered in their captivity from Egypt? It says the cries, the cries of Israel had gone up before God. And, you know, Lot was the only one saved in this situation. Just come with me to Ezekiel chapter nine. We'll have a look at another situation that pertains to all of this. Ezekiel chapter nine, verse four. Okay. Ezekiel nine, verse four. And the Lord said unto him, go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and cry for all the abominations. Notice what those guys are doing. Notice the people that are getting this mark on the head. Now, that's not a bad mark. In this case, it's a good mark. Because they're actually sighing, those who sigh and cry for the abominations that are done in the midst thereof. And to the others, I'm imagining he's talking about angels that have the power to destroy. And to the others, he said in my hearing, go after him through the city and smite. Let not your eyes spare, neither have pity. Slay utterly the old and the young, the maids and the little children and woman, but don't come near any man upon whom is the mark and begin at my sanctuary. Isn't that significant? Begin at my sanctuary. It says in the Bible, judgment begins at the house of God. Judgment begins at the house of God. So here we have a situation of judgment. We have impending judgment, just like America's in this situation right now. The balances are there. God's weighing the situation. The cry of abominations have come up to his ears. There's no question about that. If you don't believe me, go to San Francisco or New Orleans in the midst of a gay pride march and take a look for yourselves at what God has to put up with. Now, where was that stuff invented? Where was it popularized? Of course it was popularized here in the United States. Now it's spread all around the world. Now you can go to New Zealand and they'll have a gay pride march. They even tried to have one in Jerusalem this year. Why is that? Because America has the resources to make this propaganda, and America is busily doing it. And so God is sitting up there and he's weighing his options, and he's saying the cry of the abominations have come up. What does it say when Cain slew Abel? It was that way around, wasn't it? Yes, it was. It says the blood cries out to me from the ground. You imagine what the cry of 40 million little babies is like. Can you imagine what that is? 40 million tiny infants. Imagine the blood crying out from the ground of that. We've just polluted our nation, and we're polluting the nations of the world, and we're wrecking the revivals that God's bringing. There's nothing worse than the earth today. My friend, Brother David, literally travels the planet fighting, well, I hope it's not a losing battle, but it must appear to him to be so at times, having pastors conferences where he tries, he says, to undo a lot of the damage that's coming into those nations from what's being preached from America. He's an American himself. He has a book called The Great Gospel Deception. He says he talks about the American gospel, the American Jesus, and he says it's just invading these countries. It's like a huge tide. It's all over the television. He can't stop any of that. All he can do is hold pastors conferences and try and preach truth to them over a weekend, give his book away, and go on to the next place. He does that every month. America's polluting the earth. We're just poisoning the youth of every country. What do you think it is to kids in New Zealand who are in gangs, and they're hearing that American gangs are singing rap songs about killing cops? What do you think they feel like doing? They go, well, America's got the coolest gangs on earth. Surely we should. I mean, shouldn't we have the same basic attitude? They don't even think about it. Most of the earth right now is imitating United States, all the youth cultures of the earth. I remember a Christian band called No Longer Music. They did tours into the eastern block soon after it opened up. Out of Mongolia and into Mongolia, they found that all over the earth, American culture has invaded. The American hard rock music style was there. They're a pretty loud band themselves, and they're a Christian band. They held altar calls in the middle of their concert. They said the outer Mongolian guys really liked that music for some reason. I guess it appealed to their basic makeup or something. But he said worldwide, worldwide, American culture is the dominant culture everywhere. You can't go anywhere where that music isn't understood, because they've all heard it. Okay, so American films and American television and American movies and American TBN and everything we're broadcasting to the earth. We're the propaganda arm of who? God? No, we're the propaganda arm of the devil, people. America is the propaganda arm of the devil. Joseph Goebbels was the propaganda guy for Hitler, and he's got nothing on us. Nothing. He was an amateur. We have the best minds on the earth doing this stuff. We pay them hundreds of thousands of dollars each to do it. We are the propaganda arm of the devil, and God is right now deciding what he is going to do with us, because the noise and the sound of our abominations have reached his ears, and he's sending his guys down, and he's saying, I want to know if it's as bad as I'm hearing, because if it is, I'm going to wipe these people out. I'm going to destroy them from the face of the earth, and if they're not sighing and crying, I will not place a mark upon their forehead and get them out of there. They will suffer the fate of their brethren. I don't care if they go to church. I don't give a toss about that. I want to say to you that I have some very basic and common sense predictions to make about the United States. I'll say this, you know, just very up front, just looking at the overall state of things and looking at the Bible and saying, well, this is the character of God, and I want to say to you, I believe it is impossible now for America to have an awakening without judgment. I want to tell you, I believe it's impossible, impossible. I believe judgment must come, and if we are very fortunate, we will have revival in the midst of the worst judgments we've ever seen in this country. I want to also say to you that we are about to go through what I believe is a depression. We're going to go through a financial crash, and in God's mercy, He's going to let that thing happen. Do you know why? Because we utterly worship mammon in this country. All the Christians worship mammon as bad as anybody else. We are a complete, what do they call us? I'll tell you what they call us. In all of these big companies, we're simply this to them, we're a consumer. That's what we are. What does a consumer do from the point of view of a large company in the earth? All we do is one important thing. We go out and get ourselves in debt to buy a new thing we don't need, and we do it all the time. Therefore, we're a consumer. We consume. We consume new things, and in the last 10 years in the United States, do you realize that between the Great Depression in the 1930s and today, there's no other time except now where America has a negative savings rate. The net savings of America is negative. Why is that? We've spent all our money on ourselves. We've gone into credit card debt. We have taken the equity out of our homes, which has been the only thing keeping the American economy alive in the last five years. Taken all the equity out of our homes, and we've spent, in many cases, on holidays and a new car, and we've updated our house, and we've done all these things. This is the American way. The Chinese have banked on this. What have the Chinese been doing all that time? Their economy has been expanding at 12% per year, providing all the things that Americans love to buy. The head of the Federal Reserve is heading over to China, I believe, in a month's time. Why do I think they're going? To beg for mercy. Do you know why? Because China has $1 trillion in American reserves, and even if they start getting rid of it slowly, it'll destroy the American economy. For the first time in the history of the earth, the Federal Reserve chief has to go cap in hand to another nation, because they have $1 trillion American dollars sitting in their bank accounts, and they know if they put it on the market, America's gone. That's why they're going. The housing has just crashed in this country, and everybody was using that to keep the economy afloat. All of the numbers, I watch the American economy because years ago, like David Wilkerson, God has given me prophecies about the American economy, and I have believed for a long time that one day it would come to a devastating crash. But within our memories and our lifetimes, we have never seen a depression. We don't know what it's like when thousands and thousands of people are out of work and roaming the countryside with barely clothing, and they're begging everywhere for food. We've never seen it. We don't know what it is. But most we've ever seen is a recession. We don't know what a depression is like. The last one was 75 years ago. I believe God is going to send—let me make another prediction. I believe on top of the depression, I believe God is going to send a calamity as bad or greater than 9-11. Why? Because 9-11 didn't work, and he's running out of options. His last options are, before he sends total destruction, he sends the biggest warnings he can send. We just blasted through the other stoplight, and we didn't even slow down. Well, yeah, we slowed down for three months. Slowed down for three months, and then we're back to consuming. Back to consuming. So I want to say to you that those young people who are the only ones as a group that I've met who actually know how to pray for revival properly are some of the few people with common sense in this land at this moment, because they cry from their heart for God to send mercy on this land before it's too late. That's what they're crying out. I published on the net, I put up a thing called Agonizing Prayer. That's what it was. It was these young kids over in Pittsburgh, and they were crying out from their innermost being for God to send mercy on this country before it's too late. I think they're the only people who know what's going on. The rest of us, we get in our prayer meetings, and this is how we pray. We say, Dear Jesus, thank you for the day. Thank you, God, for a nice day. Thank you for the many blessings we have in our country. That's what we do, don't we? It's really extravagant, isn't it? Turn with me to Daniel, Daniel chapter nine. This is a response that God's looking for. If he doesn't see it, he's not going to take that much longer, I don't believe. Ezekiel, Daniel, Daniel chapter nine. In this situation, Israel had been destroyed and completely decimated. They had all been taking captivity in Babylon for 70 years, their destruction, because they had ignored God's warnings, and they had gone through all their stoplights, and God said, Right, I'm going to send Jeremiah to you, and you're not going to listen to him, and he's the last guy you'll hear before this hits you. You're going to hate this guy, and he's not even going to seem credible to you, and he's going to say a whole lot of things that the kings of your country are going to ignore, but I'm going to send him anyway, and you're going to stick him in a pit, and you're going to treat him like you've treated all the prophets that I send, but I'm sending him anyway. So Jeremiah said, If you do not repent, Israel, God is about to send Babylon upon you. They will utterly destroy this city and this nation, and did they listen? Of course they didn't. God is doing the same in America now. What do you think David Wilkerson is? What do you think Leonard Ravenhill was? Daniel 9. Anyway, they've been in captivity now for 70 years, and suddenly Daniel finds out, he's reading books of Jeremiah, he says, and he finds out that Jeremiah said that it would only last 70 years, the judgment would last 70 years. So it says, listen to the kind of praying he does. Listen to this. Daniel 9 verse 3, I set my face unto the Lord God to seek by prayer and supplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. You know, why would they wear sackcloth and ashes in that time? What did it signify? It signified mourning. You would go in sackcloth and ashes if your wife or your beloved wife or someone had died or the king of your nation had died, you'd go into mourning. And here's Daniel, he's sitting in sackcloth and ashes because he's mourning and saying to God, listen to my prayer. Okay, verse 4, I prayed unto the Lord my God and made my confession. And he said, oh Lord, the great and dreadful God. So he knows who God is. This guy knows that God holds the future of his nation in the palm of his hand. We don't pray to God, we don't say the great and dreadful God. You know, there's other places that talk about the great and terrible, talks about God being terrible, fearful. God to us is like a Santa Claus, you know. Okay, the great and dreadful God keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him and to them that keep his commandments. We have sinned and have committed iniquity and have done wickedly and have rebelled even by departing from your precepts and from your judgments. Neither have we hearkened to your servants, the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. So it goes on like that. I'm not going to read all of it. I want to come back to the point. Even though there was a positive prophecy over what should happen now, he said, we've been in captivity 70 years. Even that, he goes, he realizes the sin and he says, I'm going to get in sackcloth and ashes before God. I'm going to get into mourning before God and I'm going to start crying for my country. I just want to know whether we have it in us to do it. Whether we have it in us to do it. I really, I don't know. You know, I've traveled around America quite a bit. I speak to, you know, to rooms full of blank faces. I've held prayer meetings many, many times, many places. I've done this stuff. I've done it a lot in this country. Same in New Zealand. It's just as complacent there. They'll be facing their judgment day soon. What, what, what lies before us? What's God going to do to the country that's poisoning even the good things he's doing in the earth? He can't wait. He can't say, I'll give him 20 years and see what happens. He's saying they're destroying my bride. I go to the third world and get them saved and they corrupt them. What shall I do with this people? Are we going to learn to cry out from our guts like Daniel is in this scripture? Are we going to be the ones who sigh and cry every day? Are we going to be like righteous lot who's the only guy that gets saved? Or are we going to sit in the midst of Sodom and watch it go to hell all around us? That's the question. There is no other question in America now. Next year is going to be a terrible economic year in the United States. I want to, I want to say this to you and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I've been watching the economy for years and I want to say to you, unless there is a miracle from God, this country is going into a depression. Every recession, most of the recessions in America were preceded by a housing crash. This is the worst housing crash there has ever been, ever. It'll be a miracle if houses don't drop 25%. What happens when houses drop 25%? Everybody goes broke. Your house is worth less than what you owe on it. You can't even get out of it. Everybody goes bankrupt. Everything falls to pieces. You lose 25% across the board in America, you've had it. Many recessions in America had a very slight dip in housing and bam, the economy went down for a year or two. I want to say to you, unless there is an incredible miracle, we are facing the worst depression since the 1930s. We don't even know what that looks like. And I, I plainly want to say to you, it may even be the mercy of God, may even be the mercy of God, because maybe when we're poor, we'll get desperate. But don't expect to be saved out of anything. Notice that lot, what did he come out of Sodom with? Let's, we need to close this down now. So let's get, get to the end of things here. What did he make it out of Sodom with? He made it out with his two daughters and the clothes on his back. That's it. This is the most righteous man, a man who sighed and cried every day for the abominations that were occurring. And he made it out of the midst of that, with the clothes on his back and his two daughters, and that's all he could get out. That was it. And I want to say to you in this room today, you will be fortunate indeed. If you can make it out of what is coming upon this country with that, you will be fortunate indeed, because I believe the judgments of God are coming and nothing can stop them. Nothing can stop them. The only thing I look for is whether there will be a revival in the midst, whether there will, and I don't know. Am I going to stay here and watch America go through that? I may not. If God leads me to stay, I'll stay with my family and we'll go through it with you. If God sends me back to New Zealand, I'll go praise God for that. Not that New Zealand will be immune. The whole earth, the Western countries in particular, are going to go through this. The thing that breaks my heart is this. I've been reading recently about people who've already, the foreclosures have already started. The bankruptcies are already going on. They're going on now. That bubble already burst months ago. I've been reading in some of the accounts I've been reading are people in inner city Detroit and so on who were signed up to what they call ARM mortgages, where the mortgage rate jumps up and some slimeball came along, took an $8,000 fee, signed up these poverty stricken people just so they could get into a house. They signed the piece of paper, they got into the house. The mortgage rate jumps up after a couple of years. They're stuck in a house worth less than what they borrowed on it. The guy has got away scot-free with his hefty fee. These poverty stricken people are just left in a disaster. It is happening on an enormous scale. As I say, I watch the numbers. I've never seen numbers like what's happening now. It's already awful and it's getting worse. Every week it gets worse. We're headed into it, people. I want to say to you, it's not for our sake that we should be crying and sighing. It's for the abominations because we deserve this. Who's got themselves into this debt? We have as a nation. Who hasn't saved any money and just spent all the money on ourselves? We've done it. Who's taken all the money out of their houses? We've done it. We deserve this. Who's allowed the propaganda to go forth? We've allowed it. We've bought into it. We pay money into that industry. We keep it going. I think we need to pray. Tonight the response that I want to go for is just simply prayer. I even want to open up the microphone for a while so that we can pray. Let's just start by standing together. We've got to take this urgency away with us. There's nothing we can do in a small meeting. We've just got to take this away with us and we've got to pray. We've got to start travailing. You know what travailing is? It's weeping. It's crying to God. That's what I loved about those young people. They were crying to God. Father, here we are in this nation which used to spread, literally spread righteousness around the world and it was only 50 years ago or 40 years ago that it was doing it. Spreading righteousness around the earth and in 40 years in our generation, in our generation, on our watch we have become a nation that spreads poison by satellite in every possible way around the whole globe and we are guilty of the abominations that you have destroyed nations for and we have killed our babies on a mass scale for convenience's sake and nothing else. We have gotten ourselves into the biggest debt that's ever been seen in the history of the world for convenience sake, for selfish motives to keep us living a lifestyle we can't afford so we borrow money to do it. We have become the most incredibly selfish people that maybe you haven't even seen for thousands of years and here we are thinking that the world still owes us a favor or two and we're still a righteous country. Well we're not God. God we just come before you now as a country that is spreading abominations and we we ask for mercy and we say God that we that we have to cry and sigh before you and we have to go home we have to be in agony and we have to agonize in prayer because God I know that your judgments are poised and God all we can do is say God and in the midst of your judgments please remember mercy. Please remember the times of revival in this land where our forefathers preached a pure word where our forefathers prayed and prayed even for their grandchildren and here we are we've lost it all in a generation we've allowed it to all be gone and we have hardly anything left all we do now is go to church seems to be what we know how to do God we cry for mercy God we cry really father that you would intervene and you would despite everything that is so evil and sick in this land that you'd teach us how to pray and you would send mercy upon us God teach us how to agonize in prayer I pray you'd send us from this place with a spirit of prayer God and agony in our spirit that that I pray we'd be tormented like lot was tormented every day thinking of all the people that we are destroying oh God please pour out your spirit on us send mercy God and not judgment only we know the hour is late God let us be a people that walks in agonizing prayer because it is the right thing to do and the only thing to do God
