Sermon Summary
Shane Idleman passionately calls out liberal politicians for attempting to play God by changing laws and societal norms that contradict divine order. He emphasizes the futility of humans instructing God, referencing Isaiah to remind listeners of God's sovereignty and power over creation. Idleman urges the church to awaken from spiritual slumber and refocus on God, who provides strength and understanding beyond human comprehension. He encourages believers to seek their help from the Lord rather than the media or worldly influences, reinforcing the need for repentance and a return to God's truth.
Sermon Transcription
For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? Do you see that there? Why is it in quotation marks? Who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? In other words, Paul's being a little sharp right there. He's saying, who has known the Lord? You're going to instruct God? You're going to instruct God? What I would love, if I could tell Washington DC, it would be this. Trust me, it would be this. You're going to tell God what to do? You're going to play God? You're going to change laws? You're going to change sexes? You're going to change things that God has put into place? You are? Who are you to tell God what to do? Is the clay going to tell the potter what to do? God forbid. So he's quoting Isaiah 40. 700 years. Paul's going back 700 years and quoting Isaiah. Let me read a little bit for you. Isaiah says this to the people who are in rebellion. Sound familiar? That's why I love the prophets. It's like, are they speaking to America or what? My Lord. The same exact thing Isaiah said. Who has measured the waters and the hollow of his hand? Do you hold the Atlantic and the Pacific in your hands? Let me see. Spill it out. Who's going to hold the waters of all the oceans in his hands? Who has measured the heavens with the span? Who has calculated the dust of the earth? Who has weighed the mountains and the scales and the hills in a balance? Who has directed the spirit of the Lord and whom did you take counsel? Who instructed God? Behold, the nations are a drop in the bucket. We're so worried about the nations. Who lifts up the islands but God? Who can you compare him to? Have you not known? And Isaiah is speaking to the children of God. And the same thing goes out to us. Have you not known? Have you not heard? Church, wake up. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the heavens and the earth. He neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might. He increases the strength. He says even the young kids are going to faint. No one can keep up with God. But then the great promise, we all know, but those who what? Weighed upon the Lord shall what? Renew their strength. They shall mount up wings like eagles. They shall run and not grow weary. They shall walk and not faint. Lift up your eyes, church. Lift up your eyes. Where does your help come from? Where does it come from? The media, through the world's mindset. No, my help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. He doesn't sleep. He doesn't slumber. That is the God we serve. So this is the time to awake from our spiritual slumber and refocus and readjust your eyesight on God. Say, God, I'm sorry I've been following the media. I've spent too much time on this and on this. I've drifted away from your truth, your knowledge. And God desires that we come back to that.
