(Where Is the Church Going) 3. the Ministry of the Holy Spirit
Miki Hardy

Miki Hardy (birth year unknown–present). Born and raised in Mauritius, Miki Hardy is a pastor and founder of Church Team Ministries International (CTMI), established in 2001. After graduating with a civil engineering degree in Australia in 1973, he returned to Mauritius, married Audrey, and they had two daughters, Frédérique and Carole. Raised in a religious Catholic family, Hardy and Audrey converted to Christianity in the late 1970s during charismatic meetings at Loreto Convent in Mauritius. They founded Eglise Chrétienne in Curepipe, Mauritius, and attended Christian Bible Training College in Durban, South Africa, in 1979. By the late 1980s, disillusioned with the church’s state, Hardy studied the early church in Acts and Paul’s epistles, embracing the message of the cross as central to unity and maturity, which transformed his life and ministry. CTMI, based in Mauritius, networks pastors across Africa and beyond, emphasizing apostolic teaching through conferences, TV, and radio broadcasts like “Heart Talk” on TBN Africa. Hardy has authored books, including Le défi de la croix and The Church Needs to Know, promoting repentance and sound doctrine. He continues to travel with Audrey, preaching globally, saying, “The only solution for the Church is to come back to the teachings of Jesus and the early apostles!”

We are going to pray. We need to pray now. Father, we thank you for this time gathered around your Word. We know the power of the Gospel. We know how it can reach out to the hearts of people. We pray for the anointing of the Spirit to move. We pray that our hearts will be opened so that we can receive from you. We want to grow. We want to understand the building of the Church. We want to know what is your plan and your vision for what lies ahead. Therefore, Father, we pray in Jesus' name that the Holy Spirit will minister to us in a most wonderful way. We will pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. Okay, so it's wonderful to be back again and to minister the Word of God to you people. We trust that the Lord will reach out to you so that we can understand more and more what God wants to do in our lives. I would like to share with you about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Not the ministry of the Spirit, but the ministry of the Holy Spirit. And I believe that the Holy Spirit in the Church today is not enough put into its place. That's why I believe that the Church needs to know more about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. So the first thing I would like to share with you, we can open our Bibles in the book of Acts chapter 2, verse 37. Peter has preached his first sermon, and after having preached, the Bible says that the people who heard, it said, now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? They were touched when they heard the gospel being preached. Who touched them? The Holy Spirit touched them. He makes Jesus real to our hearts so that we may be saved. You know, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. And Jesus' presence on the earth, in our lives, in our hearts, is through the presence and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He makes Jesus real to those who don't know him. Through the preaching of the gospel, men and women enter the kingdom of God, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, reaching out to the hearts of people, making Jesus real to them, showing them what Jesus accomplished on the cross, so that they may be saved. So these people were touched by the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He taught them, he revealed to them Jesus. That's his main ministry in our lives, is to show Jesus, to make Jesus become real to each and every one of us. So when you were born again, when you were saved, the Holy Spirit revealed to you Jesus as the Son of God. He revealed to you, to your heart, about what Jesus Christ did on that cross. In John chapter 16, verse 8, we may read that together. Now Jesus talking to his disciples, he made them a promise that when he would go, the Father would send the Holy Spirit. And here we read in verse 8, and when he has come, when the Holy Spirit has come, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. That's his ministry. That's why when you see people being saved, it's the ministry of the Holy Spirit, through the preaching of the gospel, ministering to the hearts of people, revealing to them about Jesus, convicting them about their sin, so that they would humble themselves and repent, and be born again. That's the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Now we need to understand that Jesus Christ is seated on the throne, at the right hand of the Father, and his presence with us today is through the presence of the Holy Spirit. He will make Jesus real to us. He lives in us. That's what the Bible says. Let's open our Bibles in the book of Corinthians, 1 Corinthians chapter 6. Paul declares, verse 19, Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own. So it's very clear, the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit lives in us. How many of you understand that Jesus Christ is closer to us today, than he was to his disciples. He was in the form of a body. He came as a man. They could touch him. He followed them. He saw him. They followed him. They heard him through his presence like you and I. But that same Jesus, who died on that cross and rose again from the dead, is more real to you. He's closer to you and I, manifested through the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, than Jesus Christ was when he walked on that earth and the disciples spoke to him. Because Jesus lives in us today. He lives in us now. Right now. He can't be closer to you. Than he is now. Jesus cannot be closer to you, than he is today. Than he was, when his disciples walked on that earth. Because of the presence of the Holy Spirit. He makes my heart feel, the presence of Jesus. The Holy Spirit makes me hear Jesus every day. Because he is in us. Jesus speaks to you and I, through the Holy Spirit, through that voice, that comes from the depth of our heart. You can hear Jesus speaking to you every day, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Through the presence of the Holy Spirit. You can see what he has done on that cross, because you and I were not there. We can see in the Spirit, through the Holy Spirit, in us, what Jesus Christ did on that cross. That's how Jesus puts it, in John chapter 14. It's amazing. How the church can forget, the ministry of the Holy Spirit. John chapter 14, verse 15. If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another helper. Comforter. That he may abide with you forever. That he may abide with you forever. The same way that I was to you a helper, a comforter, the Father will send you the Holy Spirit, so that he may do to you, what I do to you. Nothing less. Nothing less. Jesus was telling them that he would go to the Father, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him, nor knows him. But you know him, for he dwells with you, and he will be in you. I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. Now Jesus when he says I will come to you, he's not talking about his return. No, he says I will come to live in you. Through the Holy Spirit. I will be seated, on the right hand of my Father in heaven in glory. But the same way I'm going to the Father, I'm also coming to you, because you can't come where I'm going for now. So I will not leave you as orphans, I will not leave you alone, I will be not only with you, but in you. That's why Jesus Christ, cannot be closer to you than he is now. He's part of your life, because the Bible says, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. He lives in us. How glorious that is! How amazing that is! Wherever you are in this world, you are sitting on your office chair, and you are working, Jesus is right with you. You don't need to ask him to come, because he is in you. He is with us all the time. That's why we can speak to him all the time. That's why we can feel him all the time. We can hear him all the time. We can see him all the time. Because the Holy Spirit is alive in us. And we better be sensitive, because he wants to speak all the time. All the time. It's amazing how when we sit down on our chair, and we work in our office, we forget that we need, many of us think that we need to go in our room, to speak to the Lord. He's not more present in our room, than he is now, or on your chair, or in your car, or wherever you are. He's not more present, close in your room, kneeling down next to your bed, and speaking to him. You can do that anywhere you want, because he is not only with you, but in you, and speaks to you, and makes you feel the real Jesus. Yeah? And we forget. That's why we work so much in the flesh. And the Apostle Paul says, Don't you know, that the body, your body, is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and you can't do what you want with it. And we forget, that the Holy Spirit, that Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, is right in my life, wherever I am. If I'm sitting down in front of that computer, and looking at things that I shouldn't see, the Holy Spirit is right in me, right now. Right now. Right there. Can you understand? When we work in the flesh, he is right in us. And I'll talk to you about that later on. It's amazing how we forget. It's amazing how we have a strange feeling, a strange understanding, of the person of the Holy Spirit. You know, he's the one that is in the drawer. But he's the one representing Jesus. He's speaking on his behalf. That's why the Bible says, it teaches us all things, about Jesus. It's everything about Jesus. Can you see that? Everything about Jesus. He'll show us Jesus. He'll teach us about who he is. He'll make things clear for us in the Spirit, about what happened on that cross. Our mind cannot figure it out. That's why we need the Holy Spirit, to teach us, make us see in the Spirit. Can you see? Can you understand what I'm saying? Hey? He's right with you, not now. Jesus is right with you now. Right with me at that very moment. And even now. And even now. And now too. He's not gone. He's not leaving us as orphans. I will come with you, and live in you. Oh, what a glorious thing. Hallelujah. I'm driving in my car. Jesus is with me. There he is. Yeah. Hey? Whatever I do, he's with me. That's why we need to understand, the Bible says, do not quench the Spirit. Do not quench the Spirit of God. Hey? Yeah. Do not quench him. Do not feel as if he's not there. Yeah? Do not block him. I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you. Hallelujah. That's our God. Amen? That's why you and I don't need to go somewhere to find God like religious people do. We don't need to go and do something somewhere at a certain place. Because Jesus is in us. Every other religion, you've got to go somewhere to find God. We don't have to go anywhere. But it's good to get together in the body of Christ, and rejoice for what the Lord has done. Because we are a body, and he is the head. But we don't need to go somewhere, and look at something, and talk to that very thing that is dead, made of the hands of men. No, Jesus is in us, by the Spirit. Hallelujah. He's our teacher. He teaches us all things. Let me show you something, in Ephesians chapter 3. We talked about that some time ago. Now he's the Apostle Paul talking here. How many of you know that the Apostle Paul received revelation of Jesus? The revelation of Jesus. In his fullness. Amen? How did he get it? How? Let's read verse 1. For this reason, chapter 3 Ephesians. Verse 1. For this reason, I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles, if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God, which was given to me for you, how that by revelation he made known to me the mystery, as I have briefly written already, by which when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ. Can you see? Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now been revealed by the Spirit of God. Amen? To his apostles and prophets. The revelation of Christ. The revelation of the mysteries of God. Of the mystery of the church. The mysteries of the kingdom of God. Are being made known. Are being revealed today in this earth. By the Holy Spirit. That's his ministry. To reveal to us. The things that are hidden. The secrets of the kingdom of God. John chapter 16. Verse 13. However, when he, the spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority. Hear that. But whatever he hears, he will speak. He will glorify me. Jesus said. You see, the Holy Spirit is not going to teach you and reveal to you things. To glorify himself. That's why some time ago we talked about the mystery of the church. Which is Christ. We understand that everything dwells in Christ. We have everything in him. We can't know God the father more than we know Jesus. Because if we know God the father more than we know Jesus. We've got that from another source. Because Jesus is a source. The beginning and the end of everything. Of all our faith. Our faith is in Jesus. In Christ Jesus. Can you see? That's why the Holy Spirit is teaching us all things. To glorify him, Jesus. Jesus said, he will speak to you. The spirit of truth. And he will glorify me. That's what Jesus said. Does your Bible say the same? He will glorify me. And he will take of what is mine. Hallelujah. He will take of what is mine. He will take of what is from Jesus. And declare it to you. He is under submission. Yeah. He can't teach us anything. He's got to speak to us about Jesus. He's got to glorify Jesus. That's why the same way that Christ is submitted to God the father. The Holy Spirit is submitted to Christ. Can you see? Being in submission to Christ. We are sure and certain now. That his ministry is a ministry of truth. Because the same way that Jesus Christ didn't speak of himself. The Holy Spirit doesn't speak of himself. Hallelujah. That's why when you, I said that to you earlier. When you talk, when you hear people talking about God the father. God the father. God the father. The father. The father. The father. We've got a problem here. Because this, since Jesus Christ died on that cross. And rose again from the dead. He is the person. The person of God. The second person of Trinity. That is being glorified. That is being honored. That is being lifted up before anything. That's the ministry of the Holy Spirit in us. To constantly show us Christ. Christ where he's seated. He's glorified. He's exalted above all things. Hallelujah. The Bible says that the apostle John talks when he talks about truth. He talks about false prophets. And he talks about the prophets that will come and speak about themselves. He said those who walk in the truth. Are those who believe. That Christ Jesus came in the flesh. Can you see? That he came in the flesh. And he is the son of God. Yeah. It's our confession and belief about Christ. I hope you see something. And it's the Holy Spirit in me. That makes me declare. And confess. And profess. About Jesus Christ. He is the son of God. He came down from God the Father. From glory. And he took the form of man. If somebody does not believe that. He is in deception. That's why it's one other important aspect of Jesus Christ. That we cannot just leave aside. He came down from heaven. And he took the form of man. That was he was called the son of man. And if someone does not believe in that. He is in error. He is not even a Christian. It's about that. That's clear. You can't become a Christian if you don't believe. That Jesus Christ the son of God came down from heaven. And took the form of man. And went to that cross. And died. As a sacrifice for your sins and my sins. And it's only the Holy Spirit. That can reveal that to me. I praise God he is in me. I praise God he is in you. I praise God for the Holy Spirit. Everything I have in Jesus is through him. The Holy Spirit. Amen. He is not that form of power. That thing that floats around. No. He is not floating around guys. Brothers and sisters. He is in you. He is in you. He is not just something that. He can manifest himself in so many ways. Like a rushing wind. Like anything. He can do anything. But he is in you. He is in me. He teaches you and me all things about Christ. He glorifies Jesus. Amen. Now you see we are talking about sound doctrine too. Sound doctrine. Look in 1 Thessalonians chapter 1. Verse 5. Where is Jesus? Where is the spirit of the Lord? In us. Deep down in my heart. You are not allowed to read before me. You are not allowed. Verse 5. For our gospel. Did not come to you in word only. But also in power. And in the Holy Spirit. Can you see? Can you see? He is an agent. He is an agent. Where revelation flows. From who? Revelation flows. And Paul says again. He is linking whatever he has. To the ministry of the Holy Spirit. So that nothing comes from him. Nothing. Nothing. He said to the Thessalonians. Who you are today through the ministry. Through the preaching of the gospel. Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It's not me. I've got nothing to do with it. I only preached. And the Holy Spirit worked. He worked. And in much assurance. As you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. That's the same verse. OK? I'm glad it's not you and me. I'm glad whatever we do is not. In our own strength. It's not in our understanding of things. I'm glad. I'm glad you can't do anything. You can't do anything and I can't do anything. I'm glad about that. It's the Holy Spirit. It's the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Paul preached the gospel. In the ministry of the Holy Spirit. That's the same thing he said in 1 Corinthians chapter 3. It's amazing how when you catch revelation. You link scriptures together like that. It's wonderful. I don't know if it's wonderful for you. But it's been wonderful for me anyway. 1 Corinthians chapter 2. Oh, it's wonderful. Verse 4. The Apostle Paul. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom. Do you understand that? OK? Not with human persuasive words. Not with persuasive words of human wisdom. But how did it come to him? How was his speech? In demonstration of the spirit and power. In demonstration of the spirit and power. Yeah. That's glorious. I like that. I like that. So that your faith should not be in the wisdom of man. But in the power of God. That's what he's talking in 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 5. The same thing. Same thing. He's talking about him coming, preaching the revelation. Ministered by the spirit. To create faith. OK? Demonstration of spirit and power. Otherwise he's dead. Can you see? Without the anointing, what it is? Dead. That's why the anointing of God is something special. It flows through a broken vessel. It flows through a pure vessel. Not perfect vessel. But pure vessel. Men and women that are broken before God. Humble enough. To have accepted what we call. The road of the cross. That's where the anointing comes. It's a product of a life. That understands. The dealings of God. And when you look at the life of the apostle Paul. You understand that the ministry of the Holy Spirit through him. Was powerful. It's not only because God called him. There is a call. It's not only because God called him. But he was a vessel of honor. He was walking on a road. Where God was constantly at work in his life. He was growing in the spirit. In maturity. He was becoming day after day. A spiritual man. More and more. Amen? We've got to continue. There is one thing that I would like to dwell a little bit today. The Holy Spirit. Now listen to me. Replaces the law. Now you've got to understand that. The church needs to understand that. The Holy Spirit. Replaces the law. The Holy Spirit. Does not need a substitute. I hope you get that one. He replaces the law. That's why you and I. And people of the new covenant. When we are born again. Listen to me. You leave. The control. Of the law. And you move in. Under the guidance. And ministry of the Holy Spirit. That is what God has ordained. For the church of the new covenant. You leave aside. The bondage of the law. And everything that smells law. And you move. Into the realm of the Holy Spirit. Guiding you. Ministering to you. And it's the only way for you. To live a righteous life. A holy life. And a victorious life of a sin. That's my main point today. Yeah. And the church. Is using law. And techniques. Thinking that they are helping God. To build his church. They believe that by putting law. On people and principles and techniques. They are putting the Holy Spirit. In a closed basket. And they believe that they are helping Jesus to build his church. Can you see something? How foolish that is. Yeah. That's what people are doing. That's what many, many, many, many Christians. They are under law. Under the control of law. Under the bondage of law. And yet the Holy Spirit has been given to us. So that we may hear him. To guide us into all truth. In a walk of righteousness. There is no victory outside the Holy Spirit. I don't need law. And I'll show you why. I don't need it and you don't need it. You don't need it. I promise you, you don't need it. I promise you, you don't to live your life under law. Under any law. To be nailed to the cross. Be nailed. Taken away. Removed. So that we can walk. By the Spirit. So that the Holy Spirit may guide us. It's amazing how we people. Church people. We devaluate. Undervalue. Minimize. The power of the Holy Spirit to bring people to walk a holy life. It's the truth. Why do you think that God gave us freedom? The Bible says that grace came to replace law. Now when we talk about grace. The Apostle Paul explains it in the book of Galatians and the book of Romans. He explains it. He explains law as being one thing. And he explains grace as being freedom. That's how he explains it. Grace is freedom. In other words, God gives us freedom. Removes every law. So that we are not being controlled by any form of law. But we can depend on the Holy Spirit. To guide us. That's why, that's the reason why I told you earlier that Paul preached not with persuasive words of wisdom of man but in demonstration of spirit and power. There is a direct link. Now listen. There is a direct link between the revelation of the gospel and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. And because there is the power of the gospel manifested through the ministry of the Holy Spirit you can believe that your life can be changed. Yeah? And that's the only reason why God gave you freedom. Because he knows the power of the revelation of the gospel. He knows the power of the cross. He knows when we preach the cross of Jesus Christ through the anointing of the Holy Spirit your life and my life can change radically. We can be bound by every sin of that world. But the preaching of the cross and the ministry of the anointing of the Holy Spirit breaks down every bondage and brings us into victory. That's why I don't need any law. You must not. You are allowed. You are not allowed. Don't you know that the Holy Spirit knows what is allowed and not allowed? Don't you know He knows? Come on now. Don't you know that He knows it? He knows it better than you. Because man has got the tendency to build up his own righteousness. So in other words that Christians today, even Christians now listen, even Christians have got their own form and line and how do you call that? Understanding what I'm saying that they got their own righteousness. I can do that, but I can't do that. The next Christian, he moves a line this way. I can do that, I can't do that. The other Christian, he moves it a little bit that way. I can do that, I can't do that. But you know the Holy Spirit has got one line. He doesn't move. He's got one line. He carries and He reaches out and He ministers to you and He preaches to you and He teaches to you one righteousness. The righteousness of God. Why do I need the law? Oh Lord help us. When God removed the law He did not leave us without direction. When He removed the law He did not say okay, do what you want. No. He gives us the greatest counselor of all. He gives us the greatest one that can lead us. Can you see one other reason why you don't need the law? You don't need it. You've got the greatest counselor in you. You know that when you do something wrong there is a voice in you. You know you don't know. Come on, tell me. You know you don't know. Do you need the law to tell you you don't have to do that? No. There is the person of the Holy Spirit in you. The ministry of the Holy Spirit to try and stop you. Not to stop you. To try. I come to that point. To try. Because He does not control your life. He guides you. He tells you stop, son. And the flesh says don't listen. That's better. Do you know about that? Hey. I tell you. Listen to me. When you are tempted and sin is nearly at the door what do you do? Do you need to go and look in the Bible what you've got to do? No, sir. By the time you get that Bible you're gone. But there is an instant, instant, instant voice. Hey, I tell you sometimes there's no time. Hey, there's no time. Sin is right there. Right there. It's right there. There's no time. But there's instant call. That's grace. An instant call. There's someone, someone the Holy Spirit brings your heart back to Jesus. Speaks to you and says to you, my son I am right here with you to give you that grace. Hold on to it. Take it. And you see there's no law at that time. You can't walk your Christian life full of things in your head about what God said to Moses and to his people in the Old Covenant. You can't walk with that. It's of no use to you because Jesus nailed it to the cross. You can't know more than Him. You can't discuss with Him and tell Him that you know, why did you do that? He knows everything. Put your Bibles with me. But with me, not before me. Romans. How many of you know that the law does not stop evil and sin? If it could, it would now. True. And the Apostle Paul explains to us so clearly so beautifully. Romans chapter 7. Verse 7. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? That's the question. You know, you see, because when you hear when you read the Apostle Paul and he talks about to you about the law and grace, if you don't catch the things in the spirit, the first thing that you can conclude is the law sin. Yeah? Read the verses before and you'll come to the conclusion that the law is sin. Because he's nailed it to the cross, so it's not good, so it's rubbish. No, no, no, no. And he replies it. You know, the law, it's not something that is bad but it's got no power. And it's worse. It's worse. I'll show you how it's worse. And the Apostle Paul says, certainly not. On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. So you see, how the law comes and reveals sin. Okay? And we go on a little bit more. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said you shall not covet. Right? So there was a purpose for that law to come. So that you and I could know what is wrong. Okay? Alright, he goes on. But sin, now that's the point, verse 8. But sin taking opportunity by the commandment. In other words, that same law and commandment became the instrument of evil. Follow me. That doesn't mean that it is the law that caused our death. No. Sin took the opportunity through the law to bring death. You see? In other words, sin, evil, took the law as an instrument, as an opportunity to condemn us and kill us. Yeah? Because sin existed before the law. It existed before the law. You know? It was there. But when the law came, sin says, yes, that's what happens. When the law came, sin says, yes, I will destroy everyone through evil. Verse 8. But sin taking opportunity by the commandment produced in me all manner of evil desire. All manner of evil desire. For apart from the law, sin was dead. So in other words, law does not stop evil, but it is an instrument of evil in our lives. You know why? Because our sinful nature rebels against the law. Yeah? Our sinful nature rebels against the law. Verse 9. I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. And the commandment which was to bring life, I found to bring death. Hey? So what am I going to do with something that brings death? What are you going to do with that? Hey? What are you going to do with it? For sin taking occasion by the commandment, here we are, deceived me and by it killed me. Therefore, the law is holy and the commandment holy and just and good. It had its purpose. The law had its purpose to reveal sin. But Jesus conquered the sin. Amen? That's why the ministry of the Holy Spirit, look in the last verse in Galatians chapter 5 and then we move on. Galatians chapter 5 verse 18. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Can you see that? If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. So in other words, if I walk according to the Spirit, I don't need the law. It confirms what we were just sharing right now. Right? Is it okay? Is it clear? It's got to be clear. So the Holy Spirit, the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to restrain us from sinning. Firstly, it convicts us. That's not right. And then it shows us the way to do. But the decision is still ours. Yeah? That's why you can't blame freedom. You can't blame freedom. You can't blame God for giving us liberty and freedom. We must blame ourselves. Yeah? Because we've got more than the law that cannot do anything for us. We've got the Holy Spirit in us to restrain us, to say, hey, that's not right, sir. Don't do that. Okay, I know, I know, but you know. Okay, if you know, it's okay, you know, but don't do it still. I'm with you. Take that road. It leads me. But it cannot move me like a robot. That's why Paul says, crucify the flesh and all its desires. The Holy Spirit cannot do that for us. We're talking about the road of the cross here now. Can you see? Can you understand? That's why you and I, we can't blame freedom. We can't be afraid of freedom and we can't blame God and say, God, why didn't you take me and move me and do whatever you want with me? Because God knew that we wouldn't do it. He tried it. He didn't succeed. But he says, now I'm giving you the Holy Spirit. I'm sending him to you. He'll guide you. He'll teach you. He'll convict you. He'll encourage you. He'll lift you up. He'll do everything. Bad, bad. Take up your cross. Take up your cross. Deny yourself. Be prepared to lose your life. Yes? You see, the Holy Spirit comes, comes, comes, comes right up to a point. He encourages you. He lifts you up. He leads you. He tells you what to do. But he can't go further. Can you see? We must be willing to take up our cross and die. But you see, the church today understands the first part that the Holy Spirit is in us, that he leads us. Everybody knows that. He's in us. He leads us into all truth. But my question is, why is the church backsliding? Why are so many Christians walking in sin? Does that mean that the Holy Spirit is not doing his work properly? Hey? Where is our part? Our part is to take up our cross. That's our part. And when we walk on the road of the cross and we feel and experience the ministry of the Holy Spirit to convict us, to lead us, to encourage us, on that road we are going to succeed. Because deep down in our hearts we have taken the decision to lose our lives so that Christ may live in us. We have taken the decision to crucify the flesh and not to let our flesh direct us. It might happen that we fall. But on the road of the cross so many times I've told you the same thing and I'm telling you again. I won't stop telling you the same thing. We might fall on that road of the cross but the Lord is there because he sees our heart. He will take us by the hand and he will allow us to repent of what we have done so that we may continue and serve him. The Holy Spirit will be there to help us. Not to stop us. To help us submit. Not to submit to the flesh. In fact that's the fight. That's the fight. The spirit against the flesh. That's the fight. I'm glad we have the spirit. I'm glad this Holy Spirit speaks to us. I'm glad he reminds us many times of the things we should do. That's why I've said earlier on that the Holy Spirit replaces every type or form of law, principle and technique. When you have the Holy Spirit living in you what else, what better can you have? Hey, you've got everything. You've got everything. But we need to accept. We need to take up that cross. And if we don't take it we will submit to the desires of the flesh. The Holy Spirit will help us all the time. It's a ministry of the Holy Spirit. It's exciting my friends. And I don't need any law. No, I don't. I don't need anything else. I need to hear. I need a pure heart. I need to walk on that road. That's what I need. And then when he speaks to me I will submit. By his grace, by the grace of the Lord I will submit. I will win. I might experience defeat once in a while. But deep down in my heart I have taken the decision. We need to take the decision. We can't do it in our own strength. Because the flesh will always win that way. That's why we need the cross. That's why I preach to you, Jesus Christ and him crucified. That you might constantly know day after day on which road you need to take. So that you can be free from sin. Delivered from sin. Walk in the light and not in darkness. Speak the truth and not lies. Yeah. Stop stealing but giving. All that through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Leading us. Warning us. That's what he does. He warns us all the time. How many of you have felt the warning of the Holy Spirit in your life so many, many, many times? He warns us. Danger. The same way when you're driving your car there and you've got some form of warning. There's a hole there. What do you do? You walk in? No, you avoid it. That's what the Holy Spirit does. He warns us. That's not good for you. The devil will condemn you. Right there. Crucify that flesh. Right there. Deny yourself. Right there. Swallow your cup. That's what he wants. That's what he leads you to do. Yeah. What do you think he's going to tell you to do? Go and relive us? No, he'll tell you drink your cup right now, sir. Swallow it. Humble yourself now. Don't make one step more. Take your cross, sir. That's what he tells you. That's how he leads you. He will lead us on one road. He will constantly remind us stay there, stay there, stay on that road, stay on that road. When you pray, asking God to help you to encourage you to walk on that road. Who is leading you to pray that way? Is it your mind? No, it's the Holy Spirit. He's the one teaching you how to pray. He's the one when you are in a mess. You don't even know what to do. You've read the Bible. You prayed. You sang. You prayed the Lord. Things are tough. It's as if you know you are going nowhere. Who is the one that is praying in the Spirit? Who is the one that is praying things to God that you don't even have the strength to pray anymore? It's Him. It's Him. You don't even have any more prayer to do. You prayed all the prayer you know in earth. All your vocabulary is gone. You are still down there, deep down there, hurting. Who prays for you? Who do you think prays for you? The Holy Spirit. He comes before the Father. He intercedes for you and I before the throne. I tell you. He sends an angel when needed. You don't know. You run out of fuel. You run out of everything. You run out of words. You run out of thought. You run out of everything that is godly. And yet, the faithful one, the faithful one, the Holy Spirit, He speaks. He speaks on your behalf. Yes, He speaks on your behalf. Have you found yourself in that place where you have got no more things to do? No more words to say? No more. Say, God, I'm finished. I've told you that 15 times. Should I say it another time? You don't even have the courage to do anything. You're finished. He's not finished. He's faithful enough. What you can do, you can't do. He'll do it. But He will not walk the way of the cross for you. That's what He will not do. He will not do that. He will not contradict what Jesus said. He will repeat to you what Jesus said. If you want to be my disciple, you take up your cross, you deny yourself, you lose your life. Then you are ready to follow me. He will not contradict what Jesus said. He will not compromise the words of the Lord Jesus Christ. But He will remind you the same words. Yeah? And if you are sincere with the Lord, if you are decided to serve the Lord, I tell you, my friends, you will hear His voice every day. Every day you will hear His voice. If you walk on that road and you are decided to lose your life and serve Jesus Christ through His life, through you, the anointing, you will keep hearing His voice. I tell you, you will hear Him talk to you. When you pray, you will hear Him talk. You will hear the voice of Jesus speaking to you. You see, He speaks. The Holy Spirit speaks. But He speaks for Jesus. That's what He does. He speaks for Jesus. Oh Lord, how good our God is. How wonderful our God is to give us the precious Holy Spirit. And yet we can do anything with that life, with that body. How many of you know that this body stinks? The works of the flesh. I tell you, you can put Lacoste, you can put anything on it to smell good, but the works of the flesh stinks. I hope, I hope you've got something. Do not underestimate the precious presence of the Holy Spirit in your heart and your life. I'm glad that during temptations He helps us. I'm glad, where would we be if we had no one to talk to us? To speak to us. To warn us. Who do you think makes you understand when someone comes with wrong doctrine? Who is the one? Do you think it's your head? Do you think it's your understanding? Do you think it's your intelligence? Do you think because you have learned the Scripture you can learn the Scripture and understand nothing? That's why when your life is laid on the right foundation of Christ and Him crucified, the Holy Spirit has got the power in you and I to make you, to remind you of the sound doctrine that you carry. And then you can make the difference between what is wrong and what is right. What is holy and what is unrighteous. What is from the devil and what is from the Lord. In the church I'm talking, in the church I'm talking. Because we are living in a day, in days where the church is being attacked from all fronts and from inside. There are false teachers and false prophets and false Christians that are rising up in the midst of the church. And who do you think is going to preserve us? Who? In our heads we can't because you know what? Our heads somehow is going to fall down to the doctrine. They will be able to convince your head but when you carry the Holy Spirit and you walk on that road and your life is laid on the right foundation, anybody can tell you anything they want but the Holy Spirit will say, no that's not right that's from the devil. I'm glad the Holy Spirit lives in us. I'm glad He reminds me of sound doctrine. I'm glad He leads me on that road so as not to compromise and not to go with the flow. It's nice to go with the flow, eh? Go with the flow. You'll destroy your life. We are living in dangerous days. Hallelujah. We are living in dangerous days. We need the Holy Spirit. We need to walk on that road. We need His guidance. We need His conviction. We need. Can you see the importance of having your life laid on the right foundation? Can you understand? Otherwise you'll be taken away by false doctrine. Swallowed by false teachings. Swallowed by false prophets. Swallowed by, let's say miraculous things that happen in the midst of the church. I tell you the Bible talks about in the last days that the devil is going to invent things and do wonders. The Bible talks about how much the enemy, the devil is going to deceive preachers and there are many signs and wonders that will happen from the enemy, the devil. That's why we need the Holy Spirit more than ever today. We must be conscious of His presence more than ever. We must understand more than ever that our life must be laid on the foundation of Jesus Christ and He crucified. The devil is the best imitator on earth. The best imitator on earth. You remember what happened to Pharaoh? You remember? And Moses? What happened? Who knew what happened? He imitated the same things. It's true? When Moses, God did the miracles and the enemy, the devil did the same exact thing. Hey! I'm not trying to uplift the devil. No, I'm not trying to uplift the devil at all because anyway he's been defeated at the cross. But there are evil spirits. Evil powers that are working in this world. And if we don't close the door of the church to them they'll come in. And the only way to close the door of the church is to write down on every door in the spirit Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That's the way to do it. Jesus Christ and Him crucified. He can't bear that. That's where he was defeated. That's where he was defeated. He was spoiled of every power. That's why you and I, we can walk victoriously over the enemy because of what Jesus Christ did on that cross. And the Holy Spirit gives us warnings. Warnings. He's the one who speaks for the prophetic. He's the one who speaks the prophetic. That's why it is a very very sensitive ministry. That's why God spoke about false prophets who prophesy and lie and speak false things. You know, I tell you we need to have our lives on the true foundation. That's our security. That's our security. And on that road God repairs. He repairs. Even if I miss it, even if I say the wrong thing but He will repair it because I don't say the wrong thing for myself. Can you understand? Because you and I, we can make mistakes. Sometimes we can talk in the flesh but God sees the heart. He sees the motivation of our hearts. And I want to tell you that the devil doesn't have good motivations. He's got wrong, bad, evil motivations. Amen? I want to encourage you today. I really want to encourage you to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life. Do not minimize it. Do not. He's the one glorifying Jesus. Our Savior. Our Lord. Our shelter. Our rock. Our salvation. Our high tower. He's everything to us. And the Holy Spirit is there to lift up Jesus. Our Savior. Jesus Christ. Stand up with me and we shall praise Him and glorify Him.
