God lives and works today. Is that hard for you to believe when you look at the world situation? Do you care about the world you live in? You can actually help to change the world situation today if you have faith. Today's meditation by Basilia Schlink will explain how. Concern for our nation and belief in the transforming power of Jesus is in itself full of promise. Far-reaching aid for our nation is available when people believe. If Jesus intervenes in the life of our people with so little power, is it not due to our lack of faith? He waits in vain for people who will proclaim his victory over the powers of darkness which beset our nation. Prayer is important, but only the prayer of faith will remove mountains. It sets God's arm in motion and claims his power for a particular need. It draws his help down and causes his power to be made manifest. Today, demonic powers are threatening to ruin countless numbers of our people for time and eternity. Therefore, nothing pleases God more than the prayer of faith for the victory over these forces. God answered Abraham's request for Sodom and Gomorrah when he prayed, if only five righteous people were in the town. For this reason, God sent the prophet Jonah to the town of Nineveh to call the people back to prayer and repentance so that the town and all its inhabitants would be spared. What marvelous possibilities we have! What promises are at our command! Great things can happen through us when we put our faith into action. Then, God will be able to answer. Praise the way, let's march! For God does yearn to answer such who cry for grace and mercy. So he who prays with heart and soul to him who made and ruled his God will find God wants to apply it. Let us pray. Our Lord Jesus Christ, without you we are powerless before the menacing forces of destruction which are surging over our country and drawing it under their spell. Therefore, we call upon your all-conquering name, holding it up against the satanic influence which flows out of television, films, literature, and many publications of the press. Lord, we believe that the dark forces will be broken if we call upon your name. You have won the victory over them when you died at Calvary. Help us through your Holy Spirit to take up and to continue the battle against sin in our own lives. Let us really be an honest, sincere witness to our people of your redeeming, liberating grace. Give us that vital love which will overcome the demonic powers at work in our people. We believe that we shall be able to do all things through you, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
