Sermon Transcription
Hallelujah. Thank the Lord. For those that are just coming in tonight and those that are joining us live on the internet, we've been here worshiping and praying since 5 30 this afternoon. What a presence of God has been in this sanctuary. It's been amazing. I thank the Lord for that. We have, what a praise report. I thank God with all my heart. I heard today that 700 people in this church have volunteered. You've been here, you've been unloading tractor trailers and putting it on trucks and getting it out. And there's been teams going out and many have just gone directly to locations. We had the privilege of traveling through some of the more devastated parts of Staten Island yesterday and meeting with pastors and meeting with churches just to mutually encourage one another. And what a wonderful thing to run into Times Square church people everywhere. We traveled yesterday. I thank God for that with all my heart. And remember the word of the prophet Isaiah says, if you don't hide from human need, when you come to pray, I'll answer you. When you cry out, I'll say, here I am. And I believe that we're going to experience profound answers to prayer as we pray this evening. I have some of the team here this evening that have been an integral part of a lot of the outreach and the maintenance of everything that's gone on. And they're going to be sharing some of their stories with you and I and leading us in prayer. And then we'll have a chance to pray together corporately for New York City. And we'll be inviting those that are watching tonight to join with us. Trey McCoy, our missions director is here and he's going to be giving you an overview of what we've been doing and how it's been happening and how many churches. Folks, I'll tell you one thing. We went all through Staten Island yesterday, but I'm not saying this to be derogatory to any organization, but I never met a single person anywhere from any secular organization of any level, of any place. But every street we went on, we met Christian people. We met believers in Jesus Christ. Every house, every block, from all denominations, from all churches, from all places, people with masks and pry bars helping people gut their houses out. Folks, they're even talking now, we met with pastors who are talking about rebuilding homes even before the insurance company has come in, of taking the drywall out and starting to bring in insulation and and what do you call it, drywall and wood and everything else, sheetrock. Sheetrock, thank you. That was one of the ladies back there told me what that, sheetrock. And starting to rebuild the houses because it's freezing outside so people can get back in their homes and getting heat in there. And I've never seen the likes of it. I'm telling you, the church of Jesus Christ is rising up in New York City, the church. We have partnered with 40 churches in Staten Island and more than 100 now in New York City through Feed New York. And we're all talking now about getting together, having prayer meetings, of bring the churches together and let's start to pray for this city. And let's begin to believe God for a revival of prayer. You're going to hear stories tonight about how people are so open to be prayed with now. They're so open to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Characters you never believed would ever be interested are suddenly bowing their heads in the presence of God. And I thank the Lord. Folks, if ever there was a time to rise up and be the church, it's now. This is the season. This is the hour. This is the time when the true bride of Christ of every denomination, I don't care what name is on the door. None of that matters to me anymore. It's what's in the heart that matters. It's do you know Jesus? Thank God. Thank the Lord. I thank God with all my heart. And there's something sovereign happening now. This is bigger than anything we've ever prayed for even and realized. This is something supernatural happening in New York City. And we're going to lay hold of this. We're not going to let it go. By the grace of God, we're going to pray and see the victory come. And I look forward to that day when every church in New York City is filled of every denomination with people meeting to pray because Jesus himself is meeting with them and answering their prayer. Nobody needs to lead this. Jesus is leading it. He's meeting people in the house of God. And I think we need to give God a shout of praise tonight for what he's doing. Hallelujah. For those joining with us online this evening, we don't have a program that we follow. We're following the leading of the Holy Spirit. We'll worship for a while. We'll pray for a while. We'll worship for a while. We'll pray for a while. That's the way it'll be all the way through the evening till about eight thirty or nine o'clock this evening. So we encourage you to join with us. And there will be also a presentation of what we're doing and how you can get involved if you want to, depending on where you are in proximity to New York City. God bless you, folks. Let's. Jesus is worthy to be praised. He is worthy. Let's do that tonight. Traig McCoy, our missions director, is going to come now and give you an overview as much as he can of what's been happening here at Times Square Church. And I think there's a small video he wants to show you, and then he'll be leading us in prayer and following that. Then Loretta Bush is going to come as a special projects coordinator, and she's going to be talking about her personal experience throughout this last week. Many of our staff have been sleeping at the church. It's been bedlam literally on the fourth floor and third floor and second floor, every floor, really, because many have stayed here with their children. We've had just children everywhere. We've had a birthday party. We had and it's just been amazing. I am overwhelmed at the dedication level of our staff and our leadership, our eldership, and the pastors. Pastor William and Tressie, his wife, William Carroll, came back from vacation when the storm hit to be here with us. Pastor Patrick and his wife Rosa, we've all been sleeping at the church, if we look like we've been sleeping at the church, because we have been. And it's been an incredible week. The fellowship has been so sweet. The prayer that's gone up, the cooperation, the joy of the Lord. There's been no complaining that I'm aware of in our streets, as the scripture says, and to come down throughout the day and go into room 201 and just see, literally,
