Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes that true transformation and unity with Christ come through the breaking of our will, allowing us to become pliable vessels for God's purpose. He explains that the hardships we face are part of God's divine plan to teach us dependence on Him rather than ourselves, ultimately leading to a deeper relationship with Jesus. Beach encourages believers to be infatuated with Christ, not just in words but through obedience and a heart aligned with God's will. He illustrates that only through being broken can the sweet aroma of Christ's life be revealed in us, making us effective witnesses of His love and grace. The sermon concludes with a call to embrace the breaking process as a means to experience God's glory and presence in our lives.

The matter every service Friends there's only one way and this is the way the Lord is showing us the way is through Jesus Christ By the quickening and power of the Holy Spirit honoring the Word of God in the Word of God alone He's preparing us to see his glory listen Not the glory that we'll see when he comes He has that already. He wants you to see it now now Now listen Divine will Human will They run at opposite directions Christ Listen closely if You are a believer this morning if you're not I Say it again Jesus Christ is the only way Come to him Ask him to reveal himself to you. Jesus said I will cast aside nobody who comes to me that is to Christ He will not cast you aside the judgment you deserve Will be altered by the mercy that God provided Mercy triumphs over judgment whenever we go to Jesus isn't that wonderful? If you are a believer this morning This is what God is trying to do in your life through the Holy Spirit He is trying to unite your will with the divine will so that Flowing in Christ the two become one the two become one this is the work of Purification and cleansing that God so desires to work in his bride friends. I don't know What other Preoccupation that a bride has Than the one she's gonna marry I'm gonna ask you a question Are you infatuated with Jesus Come on Are you infatuated with Jesus Well, that's what brides are supposed to be listen the Lord is stirring his people To once again become infatuated with him and him alone That is not a mystical Infatuation where we talk about him with our lips we shed tears and get emotional But then we go our own way that is not the infatuation God is looking for true love Obeys, what did Jesus say if you love me you're what keep my commandments. It's so easy to say I Just love Jesus so much, and then which we go this way in which he goes that way The work that God wants to do in your life this morning is to so reveal his love to you in Christ That your will and Hindus his will are united in Christ so that through Christ and by Christ You and him become one not an entity Not an entity. He always remains distinct listen. He's always God, and you'll never be God And I don't know if anyone's been exposed to the modern-day heresy that we are becoming gods don't believe it God is God you are redeemed man You are united to Christ through the Holy Spirit you become one in spirit with him, but not one in entity One in spirit means you are one in purpose you are one in thought you are one in desire You are one in that your souls have been knit together You delight you desire the things that God delights in and God desires in that's the new creation This is what God is seeking to accomplish that we in Christ Can find a place of unity and conformity to the will of God in all things Now I'm Going to take out some things That I need in order to illustrate this According to God's Word let me read the scripture first. I've got about five or six minutes I Want you to turn to 1st Corinthians 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 This is very very important very important that we comprehend this I submit to you no people will experience the mighty revelation of Christ's presence in the midst and Walk with him in intimacy and walk with him in glory and be sensitive to him and be broken and soft before him until Until the divine sovereign work of God comes to a people and breaks them and crushes them Not to destroy them But listen to break their will Remember what we're looking for we're looking for a will that's broken so that it can flow in Christ That's the purpose in God's dealing with us. He never does anything to his children to hurt him although from our perspective We often see God is mean He hurts us, but God's not intending to hurt you. He's intending to conform you So that you can be a piece of clay. That's pliable one thing that grieves a potter. It's an unpliable lump of clay I Mean if I have a design in my mind of what I want to make and this lump of clay gets hard on me It loses its flexibility But you know because I'm the potter I'm not gonna let that hard lump of clay frustrate me. I'll just soften it Have you ever been softened by God What are you doing God God, what are you doing if you listen long enough? He'll probably say I'm trying to soften you just hold on First current 2nd Corinthians beginning in verse 8 We do not want you to be uninformed brothers about the hardships. We suffered in the province of Asia Listen now listen we were under great pressure Far beyond our ability to endure so that we despaired even of life now Here's a picture of the Apostles now where the Apostles special to Jesus Yeah, where the Apostles loved by the Savior? Yeah Then why in the world is God letting the Apostles get into such a place where they have the testimony that they were suffering such Hardships that they were under great pressure so far as it was beyond their ability to endure doesn't make sense loving God God Are you a God of love? What's wrong? I thought we were your Apostles. I thought we were specially chosen by you Why are we in such circumstances that we can't even endure ah? Here's what God was doing indeed in our hearts we felt the sentence of death Now the next three words, but this happened all that we might hear, but this happened Daily Regarding the things we've gone through listen God has a but this happened in everything in your life and Until you can see their hurts and the pressures that you've endured in light of But this happened. It's going to be a stumbling block to you But when God makes you to see but this happened you'll be free and Get closer to Jesus But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves oh my But on God who raises the dead He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again Now listen friends. What is God's ultimate purpose in all of the lives of those that are his? But this happened so that we will not rely upon ourselves Dependence upon God brings the greatest joy in the Savior's heart and Dependence upon self though we are united to Christ through salvation Yet many times we continue to go our own way not abiding in the vine that Brings great sorrow to the Savior's heart You know why because you're missing the glory and the joy that you can have by abiding in him So what does God do as the potter? He says all right? I'm going to teach you how to abide in me. I'm going to teach you how not to depend upon yourself But how does he do it? Verse number six verse number eight Great pressure far beyond our ability to endure so that we despaired even of life Now watch closely friends Some of you remember this who has a black magic marker If someone to get a black magic, but could I have can I borrow that please? Now friends give me five minutes, I know I said that ten minutes ago Thank you Yeah, I think I'll be able to work with that listen I Have right here a glass container and in it is perfume I'm gonna put this container inside here I'm gonna wrap it up There's a picture of you and me here we are now listen here we are as people we're Christians and Inside of us just like inside of this fella is a sweet smelling fragrance, and that's Christ his life His long-suffering his patience his gentleness his goodness But if I look at this fellow and take a sniff at him I Don't smell that perfume You know why? Because the perfume is contained within an unbroken vessel So As long as this fellow remains unbroken the aroma is hid within him Now to be unbroken is this fellow just dances around and goes his own way La la la la la and just does his own thing you know and never never comes to grip with the need To present his body his soul and his spirit all to God and say Lord I am no longer my own. I've been bought with a price you glorify yourself in my body You glorify yourself in my mind you glorify yourself in my spirit. I'm gonna surrender I'm gonna follow my face and say Lord take me. I'm yours what the deep work of your life in me Now Here's a fella who's unbroken God and his love puts him in a place and God comes along And From our perspective listen closely from our perspective Many times it feels like a hammer is hitting us, and you know it's true. You have been broken by God You have felt at times a Crush that would come like a hammer, and you know it's true And we have this little fella here. God loves him so much and all of a sudden Things happen in our life circumstances circumstances and events occur And We're crushed God gets our attention now listen closely we come up and we're broken and We're wounded and our smile gets blurred But listen something happens There's an aroma there's an aroma coming from here here pass it around norm Just pass it around just pass it around you See contained within that Christian was a sweet-smelling aroma But it was hidden Unable to be realized by himself and by others around him until He was on his face and the Lord wrought the work of breaking and now that this Christian experienced the breaking of God There is an aroma flowing from his life Friends let me say to you in closing in closing Christ wants to be a sweet-smelling aroma flowing out of your life So that his gentleness and his goodness and everything that he is is seen through you Now I know that this is a funny illustration But the message is there What's the only sacrifice acceptable to God in the day that we live oh? the only sacrifice a broken and contrite heart is The only sacrifice a broken and a contrite heart is a person who is being brought into unity with Christ so that their heart becomes soft and tender and pliable before God So they don't demand their own way demand their own thing But flow in God's will Listen that means God's gonna deal with your pride your arrogance your selfishness as you let him So let's remember this illustration this morning as we We have planned communion, but we're gonna wait. It's getting late should we wait how many have to go can we take communion? Okay, sometimes. I feel like a little pressured, but if everyone's okay, then we'll have communion This will be a perfect opportunity to express our faith I might I'll ask brother Norman if he would come and brother Beach brother Norman and brother Beach and Remember the illustration friend As We pass out the communion elements if you must go that's okay But we'll just share communion and let the Lord have his way Perhaps we can use this time of passing out the elements as a time to meditate upon the Lord asking him To cause the fragrance of Christ To begin to flow through our life Now it hurts sometimes, but God loves us, and he knows what he's doing Would anyone like to Say why? You thank God for the blood anybody Maybe the blood has done something for you today Anybody Partake of The cup together in remembrance of that precious blood that was shed on Calvary And now the broken body By his stripes we were made whole Remember friends he bled not for his own sake, but for you his body was broken Not for himself, but for us let us partake together Thank you Jesus Praise the Lord Let's all stand if we would and
