Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes God's unwavering provision during times of judgment, drawing from Isaiah 30 to illustrate the contrast between the world's reliance on false security and the refuge found in God. He highlights the pervasive spirit of rebellion and lawlessness in society, urging believers to return to God for strength and clarity amidst the shaking of the world. Beach reassures that while God's judgment may bring discomfort, it ultimately leads to spiritual awakening and a deeper reliance on Him. He encourages the congregation to trust in God's promises, reminding them that true strength and peace come from returning to Him, especially in turbulent times.

He's doing this in our life and he's doing it all over. I would invite you if you have your Bibles to turn to Isaiah chapter 30 and we're going to read. Father, we pray that you will grant us understanding in thy word tonight that you would open up our eyes, that we might see our ears, that we might hear. Father, I know that you delight in giving understanding to us, thy people, and we pray God that you will grant us, even as Paul prayed, the spirit of wisdom, knowledge and revelation in you. Father, help us to see Lord what thy hand is doing in this hour. That we might be children with understanding, finding a refuge for our own souls and being selfless vessels that you can use to help others. Be pleased. Father, we pray in Jesus name. Amen. Isaiah chapter 30. First of all, I want to read one scripture in the New Testament. I'm going to quote it. Jesus said, you are in the world, but ye are not of the world. We as Christians who are part of Zion, the holy city of God. Hebrews says, for ye have come unto Mount Zion, unto the city of the living God, unto the heavenly Jerusalem. Though we are citizens of heaven and in Zion, yet we are in the world. May I say before we read Isaiah chapter 30 verses one through 26, that there is an incredible spirit of rebellion that is in the world today. An incredible spirit of lawlessness, an incredible spirit of covetousness and greed. There is a spirit that is working in the world today that is teaching men and women to forsake the living God and to trust in themselves and in the resources of this world. And in this late hour that we are living in, this spirit has sought to seduce and spiritually molest Christendom and has in all of our lives infiltrated our homes and our very beings. But God is faithful. God is faithful. God is true and God is orchestrating in the heavens even now, even this night. And he's orchestrating in the heavens and he's moving in his own way and he is shaking everything. Everything. Everyone here is experiencing a shaking. The world is experiencing a shaking. The Christians, the non-Christians, the end for the sinner shall be damnation. The end for the seeking saint shall be clarity, proper focus and a longing to see their savior. May God help us to take heart as we read Isaiah 30 and see the things that disturb God and how he has designed to deliver us his children from the world and from our own wicked hearts. Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord that take counsel, but not of me and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit that add that they may add sin to sin that walk to go down into Egypt. Now Egypt here is a type of the world that walk to go down in Egypt and have not asked at my mouth to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh and to trust in the shadow of Egypt. Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame. Pharaoh represents the principle of this world, the evil system of this world. Though all of this is literal, though it all occurred, yet the spiritual significance is applicable to us until the very day that Christ comes again. For his princes were at Zohan and his ambassadors came to Haines. They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be a help nor profit, but a shame and also a reproach. The burden of the beasts of the south into the land of trouble and anguish from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent. They will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses and their treasures upon the bunches of camels to a people that shall not profit them. Yeah. For the Egyptians shall help in vain and to no purpose. Therefore have I cried concerning this. Their strength is to sit still. Now go and write it before them in a table and note it in a book that it may even be for the time to come forever and ever that this is a rebellious people lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord would say to the seers, see not and to the prophets prophesy not and unto us write things. Prophesy not unto us right things speak unto us smooth things prophesy deceits. Beloved, we're reading here God's judgment that will come upon this evil world, this evil system and also the evil system of religion which has corrupted many people. This is a prophetic scripture, not only literally being which was fulfilled in the day when the people of God were taken captive, but it's going to be an is going to be fulfilled in this hour that we live in. God is saying that though Pharaoh and Egypt, which is the world and the system of the world has been a great refuge, has been a great shadow upon which multitudes have fled for strength and for comfort. Yet God says there's coming a day when I'm going to take Pharaoh and Egypt and I'm going to just cause their strength to be no more, no more. It's going to take the strength from the world from the system so that it no longer will be a strength. Notice verse 10 beloved how this is so, so relative to the struggle that we have to go through today. The spirit of this world, the deceitfulness of our own hearts are constantly coming to us and saying to the seers or to the word of God, which is God's word for this hour, see not and to the prophets prophesy not unto us right things speak unto us smooth things prophesy deceits. Here we see that God is exposing the real true heartbeat of the corrupt, evil, secular and religious system in the world today. What it's actually doing is it is causing an attitude to spread more and more, which is opposed to the word of God, which is opposed to the word of the Lord. It's opposed to the counsel of God. It's opposed to what is right, what is good, what is wholesome. Haven't you heard that voice? Haven't you even sensed it rising in your own soul at times to turn from God, to turn from the word of God? Verse 11, get you out of the way. Turn aside out of the path calls the holy one of Israel to cease from before us. There's the true depths of the intent of the system today and of every generation calls God to vanish from my eyes from your eyes. Verse 12, wherefore, thus sayeth the holy one of Israel, because he despised this word and trust in oppression and perverseness and stay there on. Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall. This is the doom and destruction of the world and those that are living in it and trusting in it. This is it right here. This is why John the Baptist soul was on fire and he said to the Pharisees and the Sadducees, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? I think it's good for us to be reminded that this old world is a passing world and there's nothing in it that we can hope in and trust in. Only the word of God shall live and abide forever. Peter and Isaiah both said verse 13. Therefore, this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant. My God shall bring his word to pass. And he shall break it as the breaking of the potter's vessel that is broken in pieces. I don't know how many have seen a clay pot, but all you have to do is take a clay pot and hold it about five feet in the air and let go. And if it hits the concrete, it just shatters and suddenly that which appeared to be so strong and firm becomes nothing but thousands of pieces. Actually, what it turns into is dust. And then the wind comes and whoo. And before you know it, that which was so visible and so clear and concise is gone in the wind and you can't even find it. Can't even find it. He shall not spare. Paul spoke of God not sparing in the day when Jesus Christ comes back a day of wrath, the day of the Lord, a day of fire, a day of burning. He shall not spare so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take the fire from the hearth or to take water with all out of the pit. Now, verses one through 14 gave us a description of this pernicious spirit that is seeking to seduce, seeking to slander God. And beloved, the reason why we read the scripture or quoted the scripture, you are in the world, but not of the world as we have to understand that because we are God's Zion in this hour today, we are Jerusalem. We are the heavenly Jerusalem, but because we are in the world, it is expedient and it is absolutely inevitable that as Christians, because we are in the world and we're not of the world, but because of the apathy of this hour and the complacency of this hour, many of us have become comfortable in the ways of the world and have taken refuge in things other than God. And I myself get in the front of the line. So therefore, consequently, when God begins to move and shake all things, we are going to experience the same thing. We're going to begin to experience the effects of God beginning to stir in the heavens because his wrath and anger is against Egypt and Pharaoh. It's not against his people, those that he loves, those that he has washed in the blood. However, God in his wisdom is going to use the shaking as a form of chastening and discipline to his people. And we're going to see the results as we read on. We're going to see the results as we read on. So don't despair when you feel shaking. We've gotten so many phone calls. So many people are so disturbed and troubled and afraid. What's happening? Phil, what's happening? My life's shaking. My company's folding. I might lose my job. I'll tell you what's happening. God is beginning to pay Egypt back. God is beginning to take the stilts off of Pharaoh and he's shaking and then we have to shake with them because we're in the world. But that's when God becomes a refuge. That's when God becomes a sanctuary for his people. Don't despair. You're a pilgrim and a stranger, beloved. You're looking for a city whose builder and maker is God. You've got a God who promised to give you water when there's a famine in the land and when there's a drought in the land, beloved, you are part of a mammoth body of believers who, when this shaking begins to happen, are going to begin to realize their need to become selfless. They're going to realize their need to become interested in others and there's going to be a coming together of bones and God's going to put life back into us and there. The world is shaking as long as Christ shall. Terry, we're going to draw closer and closer to Christ and to each other and when one doesn't have something, the other will and he'll give it to him. And when one begins to waver and shake, two will come and hold their arms up and say, stand up, brother. We're going to be together. God's got it under control. He's got it under control, but you're going to shake. You're going to shake. You're in the world. The world is shaking. You're going to feel it. The earth is going to rock to and fro like a drunken man. We're going to feel it, but God is going to be our refuge. God is going to be our strength. God is going to be our light in darkness. God is going to be our song in the night. God is going to be our man in the wilderness. God will come and save his people. That's good news. So don't worry about your job. Don't worry about your money. Don't worry about not being able to get a car. You don't need any of that. All you need is God himself. He's going to take care of you. Now, you're going to get afraid. Yes, you are. You're going to wonder what's happening, but that's all right. God will be there. And he'll hold you up. He'll pick you up and he'll walk you through. And he'll bring people into your life. And together, as long as Jesus shall tarry, we're going to hold each other's arms and we're going to call upon the name of God. And God's going to move in heaven and take care of his own. Now, do you believe that? I believe it. And the only reason I believe it is because God has enabled me to. And the Bible says so. Now, verses 1 through 14, God's wrath against rebellion and anger and Egypt and Pharaoh. Now, God begins to give the solution to the problem. Verse 15. See, in the midst of all of the shaking, God says in verse 15, here's the secret, my people. For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, in returning and rest shall ye be saved. In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. Now, here was God's remedy to all those that could hear, to all those that had a heart that would be inclined to hear him. God say in returning. See what that means is is returning back to God. In other words, in other words, fleeing Egypt, fleeing Pharaoh, coming back to God, Lord, returning back to the rest of Christ. See what God did in our midst tonight, what he did in tonight. He was he was showing us Isaiah 30, verse 15, right in the midst of God, beginning to move in the heavens and everything is shaking. God says there is rest. There is it's in him. Now watch it gets better. It gets better. In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. And ye would not. But ye said, no. For we will flee upon horses. Now, horses represent trusting in flesh, trusting in the arm of flesh. Horses represent the strength of Egypt. Egypt was full of horses that represented power. We will flee upon horses. Therefore, shall ye flee and we will ride upon the swift. Therefore, shall they that pursue you be swift? God saying, fine. OK. I'll let you go. Listen closely. For a season. I'll let you go. One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one. At the rebuke of five shall ye flee. Till you be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain and as an ensign on a hill. Listen closely. And therefore, will the Lord wait? In the midst of this incredible shaking, in the midst of this incredible uprooting of everything, in the midst of God beholding his own people saying, no, Lord, we will not return. Not this time. It's not convenient. God says, all right, fine. I'll let you go. I'll let you do what you want. But watch. Therefore, with the Lord, wait that he may be gracious unto you. And therefore, will he be exalted that he may have mercy upon you? For the Lord is a God of judgment. Blessed are all they that wait for him. Here's the divine plan that God will implement in this hour. He's going to wait. And though for a season he may allow us to go our own way, yet he is allowing us to go our own way only so that it might result in a moment when he will delight to have mercy upon us. When we come to the end of ourself and begin to say, Lord, help me. I remember you called. I said, no, but Lord, I'm ready now. What's he going to do? Forget it. No, no. He's going to delight to have mercy on us and thank God that he's going to delight. Now watch this. Now he begins to talk about what will happen with those people in whom the Lord shows mercy. For the people shall dwell in Zion. There's where we need to dwell, beloved, in Zion, not the literal Zion, but the spiritual Zion, the city of God, the city of peace, Jerusalem. They'll dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. Wow. There's a coming back to Jesus. Thou shalt weep no more. He'll turn our mourning into dancing. He'll turn our mourning into shouting, shouts of joy, shouts of joy when God brings us back to Jesus. And now watch the purpose of God. Watch because many times we see possibly now or in the past where we weren't with Jesus and we experienced bitter affliction. But watch what God does through it. He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry. When he shall hear it, he will answer thee. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity. And the water of affliction. Yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner anymore, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers. Here is the wisdom of God. Affliction and adversity sharpens our perception of our great teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ. And though for a season in context, in context now, though for a season we have possibly had affliction and the bread of adversity, yet God in his wisdom is going to allow that to sharpen our spiritual sensitivity so that we'll be able to see our God in the midst of him. Watch this now. Not only are we going to begin to see our teacher and thine ears. So here God in his wisdom is going to allow his people to go through a great time of affliction, a great time of adversity. But through it, they're going to begin to cry out to God. They're going to come to the end of themselves. We're going to discover our utter need for God. And suddenly our eyes are going to begin to open and our ears are going to begin to open. We're going to see him and hear him. His word is going to come alive. Watch this. And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, This is the way. Who's the way? Jesus. Beloved, finding Jesus as our direction becomes so much more important to us than finding direction as to what to do. When we have found him as our resting place, this is the way. What's the way? Jesus said, I am the way. When your soul is finally abiding in him, you care not. What the way is, because you know that God has it all under control. He will lead you and guide you. Your soul is resting in the way and whatever path he has, you will delightfully walk in knowing that he'll guide your every step. This is the way. I tell you, see, here's what's going to happen. Spiritual eyes will be opened. Spiritual hearing will be open. And now talk about a work of sanctification and purging. Watch this. This is the way. Walk in it when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left. Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver. All the practices that we learned from Egypt. All the things that our own corrupt hearts have set up within God's holy sanctuary, which is our own body. God says, when I get you and when you come back to me, though for a season I turn you over to affliction and I turn you over to adversity. Yet when I get you right where I want you and you start saying, God have mercy upon me. God says, I'm going to open up your eyes. I'm going to open up your ears and I'm going to put such a holy flame in you and such a holy passion for me. You're going to begin to tear down all the idols and all of the things that have stood in your heart. And suddenly you're going to begin to experience that purging power of the Holy Spirit causing your soul to worship God and flee from everything that's unclean, unclean, unclean. Let's go on here now. You're going to defile the covering of thy graven images of silver and the ornament of thy molten images of gold. Thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth. Oh brethren, is this some serious language or what? Do you want God to teach your soul to abhor and hate every form of sin and iniquity as you would a menstruous cloth? That's repugnant, isn't it? The thought. It's repulsive. See what God's saying? When he gets his work in his people, that which is corrupt and evil becomes repugnant to the soul. Why? Because the holy presence of Jesus is so concentrated and so there. Next to him everything looks impure. You see this great work? Thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence. Get thee hence. What happens now after God does this purging? There shall be showers of blessings. These are not showers though. These are rainstorms. You see what God's doing? The divine plan of God in this hour that we're living in. What an hour. Then, see then, see the eyes are open. The ears are open. The word, the purging, the sanctifying power of God's spirit saying get thee hence. Get away from me sin. God just doing such a work. Then shall that soul. Then shall he give the rain of thy seed and thou shalt sow the ground with all and bread of the increase of the earth and it shall be fat and plenteous. In that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures. The oxen likewise and the young asses that are here. The ground shall eat clean provender. That is seeds which have been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan that represents the pure food, the pure wheat. The winnowing fork is what separates the chaff from the wheat. God's saying in that day. It's going to be bread from heaven. No mixture. God's going to feed the soul of these people. And there shall be upon every high mountain and upon every high hill rivers. Oh my Lord. Rivers. Are you ready to go swimming? Rivers and streams of water in the day of the great slaughter. You see what's happening here? What great slaughter the slaughter? We just read about. But in that day, there's going to be rivers flowing in the land and there's going to be people living in the rivers and drinking from the fountain of God. Wow. What a provision God has for his people in this hour. Now, verse 26. Moreover, the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun. And the light of the sun shall be sevenfold as the light of seven days and the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people and healeth the stroke of their wound. And as we go on, we could continue to read many events that are prophetically spoken of that God is going to do in this last hour. And beloved, this portion from the word of God. Is is is is what God is saying to us? He is already preparing us. He's already showing us the place of refuge. He's he's forewarning us. Isaiah described it perfectly. And he's going to do it. And it's going to be glorious in his eyes and our eyes. And he's going to be Lord in that day. He's going to be God in that day. So no matter what happens in the world, no matter how long God is pleased to let us tarry before he comes again and takes us out of this corrupt world and then comes back and does away with it, I don't know when and no one else does. But what we do know is however long we should tarry, whether it's another 10 generations or another 10 years, God has promised to be his people's provision. And that's what he's doing for us. Amen.
