Sermon Transcription
God lives and works today. He is at work to build the Kingdom of Heaven in our midst. But perhaps you're one of those people who don't think much about Heaven. Today's meditation by Basilia Schlenk takes another look at Heaven and shares how each one of us can become a part of the Kingdom, which begins right now. Beautiful Heaven, if once a soul is given A glimpse of Paradise, Earth's charm soon fades and dies Heaven's glory bright, such wondrous holy light All sorrow, pain and woe, at sight of you must go The Kingdom of Heaven, that spells joy and peace. That means we are ruled by love. True bliss is ours, for Jesus is really in our midst. But where can we find such a group of people, or a place where love and complete harmony rules? Where there is a definite spirit of adoration? Yes, even people who don't go to church would be drawn to such a place which radiates Heaven. I've often asked myself, why is it that the Kingdom of Heaven seems so distant from those of us who are Christians? Didn't Jesus speak a great deal about the Kingdom of Heaven? Why is it that the world can't enjoy it? I asked myself these questions for a long time, but now I've found the secret, the key that unlocks the door to these questions. And what is this key that will always open the door to Heaven? It's repentance. Repentance is the way to a blissful life in Christ. For in order to receive forgiveness, we have to repent first. Wherever the words of forgiveness are said, healing and blessing are the result. Although our sin should condemn us now and for eternity to the Kingdom of Darkness, if we repent, we shall be blessed and receive grace. But what does repentance mean? Repentance means we have turned from sin and returned to God. God says, your sins are forgiven. Yes, repentance brings the joy of Heaven. So the first characteristic of the Kingdom of Heaven is joy. The tremendous joy which is released through repentance and contrition. Grace can only be imparted to those who lie at Jesus' feet as sinners. God draws close with His grace in His Kingdom where He finds the humble soul, the sinner who repents. Do you want this key for yourself? Do you want to taste a bit of Heaven? God will give it to you. He will give you the key, repentance, if you ask for it. It's worth it. Therefore, let's make this request our main concern. God's a heavy day, and ours is Heaven now. So come and hear the world we say, receive your sandshake now. Our sinners find God's promise sure, who sorrow for their sin. Repentance is the entrance door, God's mercy brings them in.
