Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in revealing the character of Christ to believers, urging them to trust in God's provision and not be troubled by worldly concerns. He encourages the congregation to focus on the eternal and to cast their cares upon the Lord, reminding them that their true hope lies in heaven, not earthly possessions. Beach highlights the importance of having a single focus on Christ, as the ideal standard for living, and challenges believers to strive for a life that reflects His glory. He reassures that in moments of impossibility, God is able to manifest His power and grace, urging the church to seek transformation into the likeness of Christ. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a heart posture of dependence on God, recognizing that true fulfillment comes from aligning with His will and purpose.

The precious Holy Spirit, whose ministry consistently reveals to us the glories and beauties and perfections of our Lord and Savior. Father, please today give us ears to hear hearts that are able to receive. We depend upon your grace. We claim the merits of Christ alone. We boast in his provision alone. We all stand equal at the cross and Christ alone is our life, our righteousness, and the one that has supremely pleased you. We do pray Father that today you would give us a vision of the glorified Christ and your intention to form his very character in our lives, so that in our mortal bodies we might display by the power of the Holy Spirit the eternal perfections of the Son of God. Lord, thank you for showing us our depravity. Thank you for showing us our sin, but I pray today that you will show us the provision is greater than our sin. Now Father, with man this is impossible, but we're not standing on the ground of what's possible with man. We're going to look into the Word of God today and we're going to continue to look to the Lord for wisdom to understand what he's trying to do in our lives. Before we do that, I'd like to make a few comments. First of all, there was an unquestionable gift from the grace of God today in the Lord's presence, and he was saying a number of things. Number one, he was saying to us, please be sure and remember that the fashion of this world is passing away. The glory of man is here today and is gone tomorrow, so let not your hearts be troubled. Let not your hearts be troubled. If you belong to the Lord, your destiny is heaven, not earth. Your riches are in heaven, not in the bank. Your hope is in the living God, not in the security of your checkbook, your bank account. That's where your hope is today, and this is what the Lord wants us to know. Don't let your heart be troubled. Cast all your cares upon the Lord. Roll them upon the Lord because he cares for you and he cares for me. He's a loving shepherd. Don't fret. Don't fret. Don't be anxious. Don't sweat the small stuff. You know the saying, don't sweat the small stuff. Everything's small stuff. Don't sweat it. Jesus knows where you're at. He knows your situation. He knows exactly where you're at today. Nobody else in this room might know, but you know what? There's a living Christ, a loving shepherd, a heavenly father who is intimately aware of exactly what you're going through inwardly and outwardly. And he says, I've got you right in the palm of my hands, right in the palm of my hands. I know everything is shaken. I know that you are feeling distress and disturbance and anxiety. I know that, but I'm with you and I'll carry you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he'll give you the desires of your heart. Just trust him. I was looking over this morning as we were worshiping at Gary and Meg and I was rejoicing that they're newly married and I was rejoicing. I just thought back the first day I saw Meg walk in the auditorium. She wasn't even supposed to be here. Were you looking for, you thought maybe there was another church or I forget the store. Maybe it was someone else. But here she is. Someone came but was looking for another place and they ended up here. Maybe that wasn't Meg. That was someone. Okay. She had a CD, but I was thinking about Gary and Meg and how providentially the Lord brought them together. And now look at them. And I was thinking about that scripture in Proverbs chapter three, trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he'll direct your path. Delight yourself also in the Lord and he'll give you the desires of your heart. Colette and I have been married for 20 years and we can honestly say together without any fear of contradiction that God has given us the desires of our heart and continues to give them to us. Unbelievable. Amazing. But our father's provision has never ceased. And I'm sure that's the testimony of other couples here to our father cannot fail. He cannot fail. Don't fret. Don't stress yourself out. Don't look to people to fulfill the desires of your heart. Look to God in his timing, in his timing. He'll fulfill his desires that he's put in your heart. Let him teach you patience. Let him teach you perseverance. Let him teach you disappointment. Let him teach you how to approach disappointment with grace. How well do you do with disappointments? How well do you do when the Lord sets you up to fail? That's what he wants to do. He wants to work some grace in your heart so you can sing at disappointment and thank God. Oh yes, he wants to do that. Just rejoice. Just look to him. Trust him. Trust him. Don't take things into your own hands either. Learn to wait. Learn to trust. Learn to take one step at a time. One step at a time. One step at a time. One step at a time. Just be patient. The Lord Jesus will take care of you. He'll take care of you. All of those desires that he puts in your heart as you delight in him, he'll provide. He won't do it in your timing. He won't do it in your way. And he won't do it the way you imagine. But he will do it in his own timing. Would you believe that this morning? I believe this is an exhortation from the heart of the Lord to all of us. Cast your cares upon him. Trust him. Don't worry about what happens in the world. Don't be troubled. The earth is going to one day row to and fro like a drunken man. Out of control is what Isaiah said. There's going to be no stability in the earth. There's going to be no stability. There will be no stability. You will not be able to look in the world and find anything that will bring a measure of rest and stability into your heart. So rejoice if the Lord is teaching you that now as his children. Rejoice if you're learning now to look to the Lord and trust him. Because one day the whole world will have to acknowledge that Christ alone is our peace and our rest. So I just wanted to briefly mention this word of exhortation. Father, I pray that you would encourage our hearts this morning. That as our shepherd in heaven, you would confirm these words. That you would create faith and rest. That you would give us the capacity to cast our burden, to roll our anxiety upon you, to stop fretting about our situation, but to go to you as our father and to draw all the grace that we need in time of help from your great throne of mercy. Give us a thanksgiving heart. Give us a heart of rejoicing and help us to be ever so sensitive to learn to hear your voice. To learn to move at your bidding alone. We pray in Jesus' mighty name. Isn't he wonderful? Isn't he wonderful? Don't you love him? He's so faithful. He's so faithful. He's so got our lives under his hands of control. If we could just see, oh Lord, give us eyes to see how you're holding on to us with everlasting love. Don't ever forget this. He's with you. No matter what happens, he's with you. He's with you. He's with you. Lo, I'm with you always, even to the end of the age. He'll never leave us. He'll never forsake us. Today, we're looking into the word of God and I'm excited because God's word is powerful. God's word brings light and life. God's word brings encouragement, reproof, correction. God's word is the only reliable source of truth that we have in written form today. 100% reliable. That's God's word today. All right. And what we're going to do is we're going to look at no part darkness part two. We're going to keep moving right along. Now listen carefully. Listen carefully. We're going to read the scripture. Luke chapter 11 verse 34 through 36. Please listen carefully. Luke chapter 11 verses 34 through 36. The light of the body is the eye. Now remember we learned that the eye is the perception, what you see. The light of the body is your perception, your vision, the thing that you are really focused on. Okay? The thing that you are really focused on. The light of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is single, when your focus is single, when your focus is focused on the light of the body, when your heart is after one thing and one thing alone, even though we live in a world that would consider such a state as ludicrous, bizarre, impossible for us to be after one thing, yet the words of our savior are clear. If your eye is single, your whole body will be full of light. Thy whole body also is full of light, but when your eye is evil, your body is full of darkness. Take heed. Be warned. Be alarmed. Be afraid. Be afraid. Be afraid. Be concerned. Be ever, ever, ever mindful of your need to continuously be looking to the Lord Jesus Christ and to the word of God and to the spirit of grace and to the spirit of holiness and to the word of truth. Take heed. Beware. Jesus is saying that the light which is in you is not darkness. If your whole body, I love the teaching of Jesus and I love the teaching of Paul because everything Paul ever taught can be connected back to what Jesus taught. The Holy Spirit took Paul and he wrote commentaries on the words of Jesus and their, his epistles, their commentaries, and Paul caught this revelation of the supremacy and fullness of Christ in the believer's life and in the church's life. Corporate Paul caught this revelation and always was crying out to the churches that he fathered and that he ministered to, encouraging them never to settle for anything less. Don't settle for anything less in your heart than a prayer for the full, the full manifestation of the eternal perfections of Jesus Christ to be revealed in your mortal body as a single individual and in the corporate body of Christ. Don't settle for anything less because the word of God is clear on this. Now I know that this is where people stumble and they say, well, that's impossible, Phil. It is impossible with man. I agree, but we're not approaching this subject on the topic of what we can do, how powerful we are, what we can muster up, how we're approaching it on the ground of, with God all things are possible. God is able to do what? Exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ever think or ask. In context, Paul writes that statement in relation to the fullness of Christ being made manifest in the church. He knew that such a goal would cause us to stumble. He knew that if we see the goal set before us and then we see ourselves through the word of God, how weak we are and how, how inclined we are to go astray as sheep. He knew we would stumble, but that's why the Holy Spirit said, now unto him that is able to do, him that is able to do. God is able. Brothers and sisters, if you're in an impossible situation now, thank God because you are now coming to understand that you are plugging into the now to him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever think or ask. Impossible situations are not things that we should draw back from, but that we should draw near to because it gives our God an opportunity to manifest his glory and his power and his majesty. We're inclined to think that if we're in control, everything is okay, but the opposite is really true. It's only when we're not in control and we're placed in a position by our loving Heavenly Father where we sense our utter dependence and need upon a sovereign God to intervene in our lives. Hallelujah to such a situation. Let me ask you, do you feel right now, are you aware right now that your life cannot go on unless a sovereign God makes a way for you? Then rejoice. You're in a blessed place. You are going to reap the blessings of every blessed statement that Jesus ever spoke in the Beatitudes. Blessed are you poor in spirit. Blessed are you mourning. Blessed are you sorrowful. Blessed are you hungering and thirsting for righteousness. Blessed are you meek man. You're blessed. You're blessed. Take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If your whole body therefore be full of light having no part darkness. Now, keep your eyes open. Keep your eyes open. Keep your eyes open. Put your finger there and go to Philippians chapter three. I'll show you the Holy Spirit's commentary on that phrase. Philippians chapter three. Having no part darkness. Philippians chapter three beginning in verse seven. Here's how the Holy Spirit took the words of Jesus. Having no part darkness. Having a single eye. Having your body full of light. Those statements. Here's what the Holy Spirit did with those statements in this man who's called Paul. Verse number seven. But what things were gained to me, those I counted lost for Christ? Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss. For the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, rubbish, garbage, that I may win Christ. Brothers and sisters, listen carefully. I say to the words of God in the Scripture and to the Holy Spirit as He might speak to your heart right now. The Lord is searching in the body of Christ right now. He's going to and fro throughout all the nations of the earth. All through Europe. All through Eastern Europe. All through Western Europe. All through Central America. All through South America. All through Africa and Asia. All through the world. Australia and all the different continents. He's searching by the Spirit that comes from His own person and He's looking for a people irrespective of what social status they measure up to. Irrespective of what possessions they may possess. Irrespective of what kind of job they have. Rich or poor. Educated or uneducated. These things don't hinder God. He's looking for something deeper. He's looking for a people who will say yes and amen to the call of the Spirit of God to produce this kind of a cry within their heart. I count all things but loss. That statement, I count all things but loss, is what happens to us when we understand the words of Jesus in Luke chapter 11. If your eye be single, your whole body is full of light, no part darkness. Such a statement carries out to, produces in us, the cry of Paul. I count all things loss. Listen, listen. That I might win Christ. Verse 10. That I might know Him and the fellowship and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings being made conformable unto His death. If by any means I might attain this, I do not know Him. I do not know Him. I do not believe. Verse 11 is referring to a future resurrection which is guaranteed for all believers. But Paul here, if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection out from among the dead now. Now, Paul's saying, now. Paul's saying, now I want to know His resurrection life out from among the death of this mortal body. Out from among the death of the sin around me. I want to know what it means to live now in this mortal body, in the resurrection life of Jesus Christ. That's having a single eye, a body full of darkness, full of light, having no part, darkness. There it is. Now watch this. Verse 12. Not as though I had already attained. Either were already perfect. But I follow after if that I may apprehend. That word means to seize, to lay hold of. Listen, listen. Apprehend. To possess a goal. You see where Paul's heart is now? You see where Paul's heart is? I live to lay hold of Christ. I live to seize all that Christ died and rose to produce in me. So many things distract us from that simple, simple heart cry, don't they? So many things distract us. And that's why Jesus said, take heed. Beware. Watch. Lest the light in you be what? The light that is in us will be darkness if in fact we allow the passion of Paul's heart as demonstrated in Philippians chapter 3 to somehow slip from us. And that's why the Lord is searching. Not as though I already attained and already were perfect, but I follow after. And then again, verse 13. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended. I am not there. Are you? But I'm looking for it. I'm striving after it with all of the power that grace and the word of God and the Holy Spirit makes available to me. It is the supreme goal of my life. The object of my faith. The passion of my affections. The passion of my heart. Christ. To know Him. To know His resurrection life now. To see His glory now. Now. I don't count myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do. Forgetting those things which are behind. That includes failures. That includes victories. That includes spiritual experiences. That includes disappointments. That includes bitter experiences. That includes happy experiences. Forgetting those things which lie behind. Not living in the past. Many Christians today are no longer moving on with God because they can't get over something that happened to them in the past. They can't get over it. Paul said forgetting. You say, well, how can I forget? You go to Father and you say, Father, here is your word. Forgetting those things which are behind. I am coming to you as a child. I am coming to you in faith and I'm asking you to make good in my life your word. Make good in my life your word. Give me the power to forget what lies behind. Give me the power to be free from the tyranny of the past so that I can be loosed and set free to strive and stretch with all the might that you provide to win the prize and to obtain Christ. This is the heart of our Father this morning. This is what he wants to see in us. Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth. A heart cry and groaning for those things which are before. I press toward the mark, the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I press toward the goal. Don't loose sight of the goal. Don't lose sight of the goal. Don't lose sight of the goal. We are not saved for ourself. We have not been translated out of the kingdom of darkness and placed into the kingdom of God's dear Son for ourself. Though we benefit, thank God, we benefit. We receive forgiveness. We receive joy. We receive peace. But it's not about us. It's about God being glorified supremely in the earth through displaying His Son in His sons. That's the goal. That's the purpose. That's the heart cry of God. That's why the church is here. That is it. Period. We are here as vessels of mercy to display the eternal perfections of the blessed Son of God who alone is worthy. That's why I'm here. That's why I'm here. If I can no longer fulfill that purpose, I want to go home tonight. I want to go home now. There's no reason to live. If it can't be Christ, for me to live is Christ. And if not, then to die is gain. Let us therefore as many as be perfect. That word there means adult, full grown. That is, as many of us who have been matured sufficiently, in the eyes of God, we should have this kind of mindset as we approach life. And if any be otherwise minded, God shall reveal this unto you. Now, listen carefully for a moment, okay? I want to give an illustration now that I believe is going to help understand. It's going to help us understand what the Lord is doing. Okay? After this illustration, we'll use this illustration as an analogy and apply it to the spiritual journey that we're on and demonstrate what the Lord is doing in our life. Ultimately, our goal is to systematically look at areas in our life where there may be potential darkness. Okay? And as we discover these areas of potential darkness, we are given an opportunity by the spirit of God and the word of God to be free from this darkness so that our eye can remain single and our body full of light. No part darkness. Now, listen carefully. As you know, I'm planning God willing to take a civil service exam April or May 11th in a month. Let me give you a little history of how the civil service exam came into existence. Please listen carefully because the analogy I believe will help us understand what the Lord is doing. The Department of Personnel, the New Jersey State Department of Personnel, together with the police commissioner of New Jersey, wanted to create a way to produce an ideal standard as a model to measure all law enforcement candidates. So here's what they did in order to accomplish their goal. They hand selected men from three different law enforcement agencies, the city police departments throughout the state of New Jersey, the sheriff departments throughout the state of New Jersey, and the corrections institutions throughout the state of New Jersey. They selected those who were considered by their superiors and their peers as the cream of the crop, the ideal public safety officer. Once they got these men, they created a test which was designed to find the perfect lifestyle profile that they were looking for. They gave this test to these selected men. The answers that these men gave for the test that they took became the standard, the profile, a picture of the ideal public safety officer from which everyone else, myself and everyone who's going to take that test, will be measured. So what we have here is a certain profile, a certain kind of person that the New Jersey Department of Personnel was looking for. They had to somehow determine where they could get that kind of person. So they selected these people, they gave them a test, and their answers became the standard now that all of us who are going to take the test will be judged by. The parts of this test include memory, visualization, written expression, problem solving, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, information ordering, life profile. And so what we did is we were taught basically what they were looking for. And then we ask ourselves the question, is that what we are? And that's how you score on this test. For example, all of the test questions are geared to reveal the ideal candidate who has good leadership qualities. Is attentive to detail, is community sensitive, is morally upright, is a creative person, is a person who is able to solve problems. No temper, always prepared, follow the rules, you plan ahead, you set goals, you have to be stable, reliable, you have to be able to analyze facts, etc., etc., etc. So they put a test of 168 questions together. And the answers to these questions become a means by which they can determine whether or not you're the ideal candidate. Well, likewise, brothers and sisters, listen carefully. Heaven, our father in heaven, has been, has longed for all we have to offer. For eternity. For a family of sons and daughters. Who would be ideal in his eyes. But just like the Department of Personnel needed a standard, they needed a standard to determine what is the ideal public safety officer, our father in heaven needed a standard. And so what he did is he looked at his son. He saw his son from eternity past. And he saw in his son, the ideal son, the ideal heart, the ideal manifestation of the kind of character, the kind of righteousness, the kind of love, the kind of purity that he was looking for. So he sent his son into the world. And he said concerning his son in Matthew chapter 3, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. God put on display before heaven and earth the ideal profile, the ideal picture of a son who pleases him. Who brings ultimate pleasure to his heart. And now that we've seen the Lord Jesus Christ as the ideal son, we've seen the Lord Jesus Christ as heaven's choice, we're called by the Holy Spirit to be the ideal son of God. To look to him. And through the power of transformation, we are called to be changed into his image so that his ideal profile becomes the goal, the prize, the thing that we're after. That's what Paul was after. He saw Christ. I doubt very much if Paul was interested in being a law enforcement officer, and it's possible that none of you are interested in it. That's OK. But Paul saw the profile of the ideal son of heaven. And he was conquered by this man, Jesus Christ. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, his life's passion became that I might know him, that I might be as he is. That the eternal perfections and qualities that are in him might be communicated and etched into who I am so that what I am can become a manifestation of who he is in his moral perfections and eternal beauties. And brothers and sisters, just like the Department of Personnel won't accept anyone who scores on that test an inferior measurement than the standard that they've already secured, which was the cream of the crop. Likewise, our Father in heaven will not accept anything that you offer to him. You can't offer anything to him. He's already decreed it is his Son and his perfections, his mind, that pleases him. And now the church is destined, right now, we're destined to accept the ideal heavenly profile and bow to him. You see, when the Department of Personnel and the Commissioner got together, they said, we need to know what the ideal police... Five reports that need to be done before the end of his shift. And the reports have to be accurate and perfect. How does he react? Does he say, well, I don't think Sarge will mind. I'll just forget. I'll blow it off and go in early tomorrow morning. Is that the ideal police officer? That's the way you might be. That's the way I might be. But if I want the job, I've got to change my ways or lie. See? And so, let me give you an illustration here. Yeah, let me give you an illustration here. Please bear with me, brothers and sisters. This is laying the foundation to what we're about to go into. We, for three days, we went to school and we were drilled. We had to think like the cream of the crop. We had to think. We had, listen, we had to know the standard that we were going to be judged by. We had to understand it. That's the strategy in taking the test. Question. I sometimes overlook details. That's a question that will be on the test to determine your profile. I sometimes overlook details. Do you agree? Do you strongly agree? Do you disagree? Do you strongly disagree? If you want to be a police officer in the state of New Jersey, you have to strongly disagree with that statement. Because as a police officer, you can't overlook details. Part of your job is details. Very, very specific details. So, see, I know the standard. I know the strategy. It was drilled into my mind for 15 hours. Drilled into my mind. New social scenes excite me. New social scenes excite me. Now, you can look at it from two ways. You can say, well, personally, I'm just sort of a it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I just like to stay in the comfort zone of my own little world. That might be true. But when you, when you come to understand the standard, the ideal, how would the ideal police officer answer that question? New social scenes excite me. I agree, strongly disagree, disagree or strongly disagree. I agree. Absolutely. I'm very much interested in a challenge. What about I would enjoy going to other countries and eating new kinds of foods. I agree. You see, give me about an hour and we could all begin to think just like the ideal police officer and we would begin to learn the strategies necessary in order to take this test and score highly. This is the strategies. Rules and laws need to be broken. Some people would say, I agree. I strongly agree. But the idea, what's the job of the police officer? To enforce rules and laws. You see? And so I hope you're getting the idea here. There's a standard. This isn't a subjective thing. It's not a subjective thing. There is a standard that has been developed. And listen, unless we understand the standard, the way they obtained the answers, then it would be, it would be, it would be of no value to take this test. So likewise, brothers and sisters, do you see it? There's a standard. God has exalted His Son. And here's what God is saying. Oh, God, listen to us. Listen to His Word. Here's what He's saying. I have an ideal standard. And we have recorded in the Word and by the Holy Spirit, we can see how the ideal Son reacts to any given situation. We know how it's going to be. It's in the Word. How does the ideal Son react when He gets a hold of possessions? How does the ideal Son react when He talks about money? How does the ideal Son react when confronted with the questions of the purpose of living? How does He act? Well, here's the answer. However He acts is the standard by which you and I are going to be judged. He's the ideal heavenly Son. And all you and I are in this earth, we're in this world, and we are continuously being confronted every day with life situations. And just like we were taught at this Bernstein course, you don't go about life. You don't go about trying to understand how to answer these questions, asking yourself, what would I do? You go about saying, what would the ideal public safety officer do? That's the answer to the question. And as the church of Jesus Christ, we've got to stop going about life saying, this is what I think I'm going to do. And this is what I think I'm going to be. And this is how I'm going to react. That's when we do that, we adopt the wisdom of the world, the foolishness of the world, because that's what the world does. They live by their own wisdom. They live by their own knowledge. They determine how they're going to have a worldview based on their own selfish desires. But we must come to the place as the church where we begin to approach life on our knees before God in His Word and say, Father, you have one Son that has pleased you. You have one Son that properly reacted to life situations in a way that was pleasing to you. And I need the heart of your Son etched in me. And that's why the Holy Spirit's been given. It's been given so that we can see the ideal Son and know what He is and who He is and the way He is. And then we see our poverty. We see how other we are. But then we come to Father and we thank Him for the promise of the Holy Spirit. We thank Him for the gift of the new covenant. And we begin to claim His promises that He'll take our stony heart. That is the darkness. He'll take the darkness that's in us. He'll take the evil eye that's in us and He'll remove it and He'll give us what? A heart of flesh. He'll write, listen, He'll write the ideal Son's heart in our heart. He'll write it in our heart. He alone, the Lord Jesus Christ, is without darkness. He alone is heaven's choice for the ideal Son. His life, His mind, His way of viewing the world is the only acceptable way that pleases our Father in heaven. And so I'm telling you, brothers and sisters, if you approach this life called Christianity, as some students will, who take this civil service test this month and next month, not understanding the ideal police officer and responding to those questions in light of them. But they're going to approach this test and they're just going to answer these questions. I am always prepared. I strongly disagree with that. I'm quite an unprepared person. Boy, this is an easy test. Yes, I use a weekly planner most of the time. Oh, my goodness, I don't even know what a weekly planner looks like. I strongly disagree there. Well, they're going to take the test and they might be given honest answers. But I'll tell you right now, they'll not be a police officer. You know why? Because they don't know what they're looking for. They don't know the strategy. Now, these guys continuously said, we're not telling you to lie. They said, what we're telling you is this, you better change real quick. You better change real quick. Ideal police officer, the correct answer, they exercise between five and six days a week. That's the correct answer. That's what they're looking for. Then they have between two and three days a week, one day a week or rarely never. Say, see. See the strategy. The strategy is what knowing what the ideal police officer says, and that's what you've got to be. Now, the analogy, the analogy is so incredible. We go to the Lord. We can't go to the Lord and be a phony. We can't go to the Lord and be fake. The beautiful thing about the new covenant is we go to our Lord Jesus and we see what he is and we acknowledge that's not what we are. But we don't just stop there. We go to him and we say, father, make me a son in character. And what father will do is he'll take, he'll take the profile of the son and etch it into our heart and into our spirit. OK, brothers and sisters, we're we're not going to go to the next section because the next section is quite lengthy. This is a foundation that we laid for the next section. What we're going to do is next time we get together, God willing. Listen, listen, listen. We're going to systematically now do exactly what the New Jersey Department of Personnel, together with the police commissioner, did. We're going to see the ideal son and his life profile. We're going to look at all the ways that Jesus would react and respond to money, work, possessions, entertainment, responsibility. And a host of other things, and we're going to compare the the profile of the ideal son versus the profile of the Gentiles. How do Gentiles deal with life situations? How do sons deal with life situations? And we're going to learn. That every area of our life, listen. Where we are approaching the test without having in view the ideal son, and therefore we're living it our way, we're doing it our way, that is an area of darkness in our life. That's an area of darkness. And with that area of darkness comes a potential evil eye. And with that potential evil eye comes blindness. An unclear ability to be able to truly see properly. And once we look at this profile of the ideal son. And see how he reacts in all of life's given situations, we will come to our father on our knees. We will rejoice that we have such a holy, loving, righteous savior. And then we're going to dare to ask God to birth in us the passion that Paul had. Now that I see how other he is than I am, now that I see how in every situation I chose the wrong answer because I didn't know the standard. There's going to be thousands of guys at that civil service test who don't know the standard. They're going to choose the wrong answers. Brothers and sisters, we've got the right answers. We know what father's looking for. We're going to go to him and say, father. I chose all the wrong answers. But I still got the job. I still got the job, Gary. I chose all the wrong answers. But now I realize. Your son, the ideal son wants to make me. Into his image and his likeness. Through transformation, through metamorphosis. So that from within my very spirit. By the power of the Holy Spirit. I, through him, can live like the ideal son. I am crucified with Christ. It is no longer I that liveth, but Christ who liveth in me. So I hope and pray you'll get these messages. We make copies of them. They're free. You know this. Ask the Lord to get this word in you. This is where the church is heading. And it's those who know what father's looking for. Who go through life, not just answering these questions. Well, this is what I would do. Yeah. This is what I would do. Yeah. More, more, more. Greed, greed, greed. Gentiles are motivated by greed. But sons are motivated by what? Love for God. How much of the stuff in our life would drop off if father suddenly showed us the greed behind our energy? But see, now we're going to, we're going to, we're going to get the right answer. And we're going to say, father, change my heart. And let me tell you, as we close, you won't lose a thing. You know who the losers are? The losers are those who think. That they have something that they can offer to God. That'll benefit them and benefit God. The winners are those who recognize they have nothing, but Christ is all and all. Let's bow our hearts for a moment. Father, thank you so much for your Holy spirit and your word today. Lord, I pray that you would ever, ever, ever exalt before our eyes and our hearts through your word, the eye deal son in heaven. He's the standard by which you are now judging all of us. It's what he does in any given situation that represents the ideal son. Teach us this father. Teach us the power of recognizing he alone is the ideal son. Help us Lord by faith to be changed, to stop thinking from the inferior standard of our own judgments, but to see Jesus and to be changed into his image and likeness. Father, we glorify you for the sake of your son. For Jesus sake. Hallelujah. Show us our hearts, Lord. Show us that we're all right now in an exam and all the things that we're doing. All the questions before us, all the questions that life has brought to us. Help us to realize, Lord. The ideal son. It's the standard. Lord, show us in your wisdom what your son would do and then give us that kind of heart. Thank you, father. Thank you, Lord. We have just a few minutes here and we just invite you if you have to go, you know, that's fine, but just invite you for these few minutes right before the kids come. To just. Ask the Holy Spirit. To speak to you through his word, this is.
