I give it to you now in Christ's name Amen Revelation 18 to and The angel cried mightily with a strong voice saying Babylon The great is falling is falling and has become the habitation of devils and the hold of every unclean and hateful bird Babylon has fallen has fallen Now Martin Luther and other Reformation preachers taught that Babylon was a Catholic Church and the Pope was the beast Many believers at that time were being martyred by the orders of certain primitive popes Now if you know church history, you know, the Catholic Church is stained with the blood of many godly martyrs But if you understand church history, you also know that have been nearly as many Catholics killed by Protestants Even in Ireland today, you see it Catholics killing Protestants Protestants killing Catholics. No What John is talking about is not the Catholic Church. The beast is not the Pope Something far more powerful than a Catholic Church of the Pope It's a world power that's visible before our very eyes tonight and I want to show it to you I want to expose it and show you what God is talking about Babylon was a physical city at one time that God used to judge Israel It was destroyed by the Chaldeans in 536 BC And if you understand your Bible history every time God wanted to chastise Israel He sent Babylon down carried him away in chains took him into captivity Remember they were there for 70 years in captivity in Babylon No Babylon Represents something more than just that physical city. It's a type of something that's in existence today Just as surety as Zion is not just a physical city in Israel Zion is a type of the church the true Church of Jesus Christ is called Zion Babylon is a harlot backslidden Church Babylon is a Spiritual condition. It's a church within the church. It's a visible body Coexisting with the invisible body within the Church of Jesus Christ professor Milligan 1885 said this and I thought what God was showing me was from the original and it's not it's been believed for years 1885 professor Milligan said this Babylon is not the Church of Rome in particular No doubt that church is deeply sinned, but it is not the spiritual harlot of revelation Babylon is all professed Christians who love the world It consists of those who love the world's favor rather than its reproach It is those who esteem the honor of the world rather than its shame It is those who love ease rather than sacrifice Self indulgence rather than self-denial Grasping covetous, but having no compassion on the poor Babylon is all who anywhere professed to be Christ little flock But they are not because they deny him by their actions in their lifestyle Babylon as far as I'm concerned and many others in church history is Any church any ministry any minister any Christian who is in league with the world? Seduced by a spirit of worldliness and covetousness doing God's work and worldly methods it can be Conservative it can be liberal can be Catholic it can be Protestant And of course it includes the super world church that is going to be in existence when Jesus comes and he said he's going to Destroy it with the breath of his own nostrils But you see God is more concerned about the true Church of Jesus Christ and what's happening to the church This is the thing that grieves the heart of God God is vitally concerned about how we are evangelizing he's vitally concerned about how the church is taking on the character of the world and I tell you Babylon is falling Babylon is coming down God is soon going to shake and sift every unspiritual church He's going to expose and bring down every unspiritual ministry every backslidden minister the gospel Every lukewarm worldly Christian is going to be shaken to the core of his soul The Bible predicts that everything that can be shaken will be shaken and the only things left standing are those things that cannot be shaken When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming he didn't see him coming as a divine Santa Claus No, he saw him coming with an axe in one hand and a fan in the other and with the axe He'd lay it to the root of the tree and cut off the root of sin and with the fan He'd appear in his floor. That's his church and he would blow that's with the Holy Spirit and He would blow out of the house of God all the chaff and the only thing that would remain when Jesus comes is the wheat John in his vision saw a harlot riding on the back of a beast and One of the angels talked with me saying come hither I will show you the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters That means upon many lands worldwide in influence So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast Full of names of blasphemy Having seven heads and ten horns Those are just fallen empires and the restored Roman Empire the constant worldwide influence of this beast The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet colors and she was decked with gold and precious stones and pearls as she had in her hand a golden cup full of Abomination and filthiness and upon her forehead was a name written mystery Babylon the mother of harlots Folks this prophecy is not complicated at all In fact, this is speaking of the backslidden Laodicean church the last day church before Jesus comes described in the third chapter of Romans This is a church that would come into being who would have a public confession of prosperity It's a church that says she is rich It's a church that will say she is increased with goods She says he's in need of nothing a positive confession of wealth and success But unaware that she is naked wretched poor and blind Does that sound like something you've been hearing lately of a confession of wealth and prosperity? By people who have never dealt with sin totally ignorant that they're wretched and blind and filthy and naked Claiming all the riches of the glory of Christ Jesus having never dealt with sin in their lives Now Babylon is not an apostate church just because I say it is every prophet of God Knew who the harlot was Jeremiah said have you seen what backsliding Israel has done. She's played the harlot Israel has a horse forehead and refuses to be ashamed Remember what John the Revelator said? She has a horse forehead Mystery Babylon the mother of harlots written on her forehead and listen to what Jeremiah says he's speaking of the backslidden people of God He's speaking about the apostate church of the time Israel has a horse forehead Backsliding Israel has played the harlot and she refuses to be ashamed Ezekiel said How weak is thine heart become saith the Lord God? Seeing you do all these things in my presence the work of an impudent harlot woman in The Old Testament days when you wanted to show a sign of impotence you picked up a stick You held it under your nose and you flipped it at a person that meant you were putting them down a sign of impotence Nowadays, they threw the stick away and they use the thumb and they thumb their nose And that's what God's saying my people many of my people become so impotent. They're thumbing their noses at me Isaiah How has the faithful city become a harlot speaking of Jerusalem God's Holy City? It was once full of righteousness, but now full of hate and murder And you'll find it in Joel Amos Micah and Nahum all these prophets in essence said the same thing My people have become degenerate plants. My people have become harlots You see these people of God that were once faithful called out of Egypt called to go in and possess Canaan They began to go a whoring after the heathen ways Scripture said thou has gone a whoring after the heathen and it become polluted with their idols and their ways. Oh You see that pollution today creeping into the house of God and so many careless living Christians Who have gotten so mixed up with the world? So involved with the world they've got a whoring after the heathen ways The Prophet said the holy place has become defiled by strangers Uncircumcised ungodly men were coming into the holy place to minister before the Lord This thing have they done unto me. They've defiled my holy place Isaiah said Israel now finds pleasure in the children of strangers Jeremiah strangers are now coming into the holy place of the Lord's house There was a terrible thing happening in Israel that frightened all the prophets. There was an outer court That's where the sinner the transgressor brought his sacrifice But into the holy place No one was allowed to go except a holy person a holy man of God separated sanctified set apart No one could minister the holy oracles of God Unless they were totally sanctified they couldn't even have a spot or wrinkle on their garments or they'd be defiled But you see the church becomes so black slidden God's people become so polluted with the things of the world the spear the age had so corrupted them that ungodly men were coming in and offering strange fire before the altar of God and All the Prophet Ezekiel saw what was happening and he thundered a message That is a message that needs to be heard all across America I'm going to give you the prophecy if Ezekiel this thundering message You keep it in mind when you think of all that you've been seeing on so-called Christian radio and television hearing and listening to Think of all the half converted Hollywood celebrities that give their cute little Jesus commercials Think of all the show business gospel and all the choreography think of all these uncircumcised half converted people Coming into the holy place so to speak to minister the holy oracles of God and then you listen to this Say to the rebellious house of Israel you are brought into my sanctuary or my holy place strangers uncircumcised of heart and in flesh To be in my holy place to pollute it even my house you have not kept the charge of my holy things Listen, you have hired keepers in my holy place for your own pleasure Thus saith the Lord God no stranger. No alien at heart. So enter my sanctuary You see when John was looking at this Harlot riding the back of a beast he was looking into our generation. He saw a church riding on the back of the world The beast got its power from the dragon, which is the devil And he saw a backslidden church riding on back of the world riding on top of the crest of the world Doing God's work with worldly methods with strange aliens in the house of God in Collusion with the temple service in the worship of God He saw a church was so weak and so worldly it had to desperately depend on the world for its strength Now, you know as well as I do that the world is creeping into the church It's creeping into the ministry ministers today borrow the music of the world the styles of the world the Choreography of the world and now borrow their stars who one day can be on a Christian television program or in a Jesus rally Talking about their conversion and the very next night. They're in Las Vegas Dancing and singing in front of a bevy of nudes singing drinking cursing gambling songs And you know what grieved prophets they saw the worldliness in the temple they saw unsanctified men standing for the altar to minister and All these strange fires And the Prophet said with grief in his heart my people love to have it so This is what bothers me the lack of discernment in the Church of Jesus Christ nowadays people sit and watch television programs And they go to meetings and a lot of our crusades today are entertainment and much of Christian television is entertainment I'm not going to name names But something you got to be said and I'm not I'm not afraid to say because God put this on my heart I'm not I am not Putting my hand on God's anointed Because if you remember Nadab and Abihu were two great priests of God Who along with Aaron had the spiritual care of over three million Jews? Nadab and Abihu two great prophets of God had been on Mount Sinai for six days. They had Been rolling in the thunder of God as the earthquake shook that mountain The Bible said along with Aaron they saw God walk on sapphire stones these two great prophets of God came down out of the mountain and They came one day into the holy place Now God said the only fire that could go into the censer had to come from the holy altar. It was a perpetual fire No hand no human hands touched it and that was the fire that was to go in to the censer before the incense cap went on to be waved before the altar of the Lord But you see these two priests became so busy and careless One day they came walking right past the altar and they went into the holy place and they struck up their own fire human hands and They offered strange fire and what happened to these two great men of God they dropped dead In the holy place. They dropped dead. They offered strange fire before the altar of God We are saying strange fire being offered before God and I watch some people and I go into their homes turn this on to this Isn't that wonderful? Look at that celebrity. Look at that Hollywood personality talking about Jesus and all friends agrees me because I just happen to know that I've seen a newspaper clipping where they're going to appear in that same city in Some kind of a benefit or some kind of an ungodly Club a drinking club mind you I am a Jew. Did you hear me? I'm a Jew by faith the only kind Paul recognized I'm a Jew by faith But can you imagine any Jewish rabbi inviting me an uncircumcised Gentile into the synagogue? You think he'd allow me in to open the law and preach the Jewish gospel and the law No, because I'm uncertain and I don't blame him I respect that but by the same token, why should any man of God permit in the holy place any half-saved? unsanctified celebrity God said it's all coming down Babylon is falling. Oh now that dwellest upon many waters abundant in treasure thine end is common the measure of thy covetousness God says it's enough I'm going to put a stop to all the spiritual foolishness in my house Now, what does that mean to you and me sitting here? Today, it means so much that the Lord says I'm going to tingle your ears And I'm going to astonish your eyes. That means it's gonna be headline news. Here's my prophecy Listen closely and Then start watching the news in the months ahead We are on the verge of seeing the bankruptcy of some of the major ministries in the United States Men who have built their empires without a mandate from God. We're trying to build memorials to their own name They're going to come crashing down. They're going bankrupt God is going to shut down every Christian television program. That is preaching the gospel with ungodly methods and people God's going to shut it all down. It's all going bankrupt Churches who have overbuilt without a mandate from God are going to go bankrupt Liberal denominations are going to have their funds cut off because God says it's enough God's going to instead raise up spiritual men to fill the gap They're going to be men of God that hear the call of the Holy Spirit they're going to say it's enough and they're going to purge their churches their ministries and themselves and They're going to ask God to help them preach a pure clear unadulterated gospel of Christ Unmixed with the world in its spirit God is getting ready to do a new thing in his church He's going to bring down the proud and the famous and the ambitious and the ego trippers And God's going to lift up humble unknown ministers to bring the church back to repentance and holiness The days of the superstar evangelist. They're all over No more one-man shows No more stealing God's honor no more glamour no more showmanship No more world directed choreography in the holy place No more big-time religion The Holy Ghost is going to shut down corporate religion and my friends what religion has become in many circles is big business Nothing else but big business The Holy Spirit is already Making people sick of all the money raising that's why that program pray TV came to birth The world that was a sign of the secular world being very fed up and tired of all the money appeals Aren't you a little tired of all the money appeals Aren't you tired of seeing men of God on radio on television and listening on radio? Weeping and crying as though God has become a pauper All the unbelievable gimmicks the house of God is being turned into a den of thieves Folks I don't want anything to do with that. You say be careful. Mr. Wilson what you're saying about men of God Oh, I believe God's saying that to a lot of us. I believe many of us have been guilty There've been times past in my life. I was guilty of the same thing and God been dealing with me And I say God's not dealing with me only thing with every minister Everyone who hears the sound of my voice God is saying he's going to woo his church away from the bigness the brightness and sensationalism and their soulmanship He's going to rule people away He's going to show people the difference between the holy and the profane the clean and the unclean God is going to bring down every minister who's wrapped up in go-go religion busy busy running Listen to it. I'm against you babbling. I will lift up my hand against you and roll you down from your heights I will leave you a burned-out mountain. You shall be desolate. You shall be completely wiped out. I Was in Washington Square Park doing personal work last summer met a minister sitting in the park. He left his church He left the ministry. He was sitting there in a daze. He didn't even work had no job Completely burned out he had run so far. He'd gotten ahead of God God is warning every sincere Christian to get out of Babylon now Flee out of the midst of Babylon deliver every man his soul Be not cut off in her iniquities for this is the time of the Lord's vengeance He will render unto Babylon a recompense said I'm going to send judgment God is warning every minister the gospel to get out of Babylon to read his soul of the spirit of Babylon. I Would to God That we could have a one-year moratorium on every building program all plans of Expansion that all through the church for just one year every evangelist every minister every church would just stop for one year and give themselves The fasting and praying we could turn the world upside down. I am NOT against building new churches Oh, no, God calls men like Ezra Nehemiah to be builders. God knows that we have to have roofs over our head But oh something's happening America now we've become so interested in our drawing boards, we're not into the word I Can say to any minister who hears me around the world? That if you have a mandate from God Woe to the person stands in front of you or tries to stop you and Saints Listen to me if the man of God in the pulpit is really heard from the Lord And you know, it's not an eagle trip if there is a real need to build and expand Then you'd better stand behind him with everything you have or you're in danger of your very physical life but once the plans Have been settled upon I've been asking pastors to turn the building plans over to their elders and the deacons let them build it so the pastor gonna shut himself in with God and fast and pray and stand in the pulpit with a word from heaven every time he preaches God is going to spew out of his mouth all the preaching that is light and frivolous Jeremiah rebuked the ministers of his day He said you have healed the herd to the daughter of my people only slightly saying to them peace peace when there's been no peace Slightly means light silly lacking substance Do you hear that? He said my ministers were preaching a light silly gospel lacking substance And this is what bothers me about some of the programs we see now around the country Here's so light it is so frivolous. Oh, there is some healing as he said you healed the herd of the daughter my people slightly It's possible to produce all kinds of testimonies of healing But folks until people deal with the sin in their lives and tell the axes laid to the root that can be no healing God will not allow ministers any longer just to lift their hands and say to people Do you have a burden you ever need you have a sin? I'm gonna release it. You can't release it That's like standing in a confession booth and having the priest forgive your sins No, you can't be healed until you deal with a secret private sin in your life And that's what God is trying to raise up. Now. He's trying to raise up ministers We're going to preach against in effect The Bible says that the best test to know whether the man of God in the pulpit is truly of the Lord If you want to know your pastor's a real man of God Here's the test if they were mine saith the Lord they would turn my people away from their sins Now you if you go to a church and I'm sure that's the way it is in this church You hear a pastor make you so uncomfortable. You think somebody ratted on you He told him all about you And he preaches a message in spite of what the money people in the church or the deacons think and he preaches it even though It's going to cost him his pulpit and you know it You better thank Almighty God and hold on to him because he's a man of God Jeremiah said these priests these ministers overpassed they overlooked the deeds of the wicked Ezekiel said the priest they have put no difference between the holy and the profane Neither have they showed my people the difference between the clean of the unclean They're not showing the people the difference between the clean of the unclean. I Take care of that. Oh My friends This is the message of the hour that God is going to appear in his church And he's going to raise up ministers of the gospel that are going to cry out loud as the mighty Prophets of God and the Old Testament and God is going to purge his body of sin God said he's gonna put the blush back into the gospel We don't bless anymore The red cheeks you'll get hot in the cheeks because you feel the guilt and shame because God is exposing it by the power of his Holy Spirit Were they ashamed when they sinned? No, they weren't ashamed. Neither could they blush but God's gonna put the blush back in Here's something God said he's going to do To the ministry when I read this one day. I was so glad I'd been fasting and praying and seeking God I was so glad he'd already touched my values and straightened him out Because when I read this, I don't think I could have taken it and I think this is the one One scripture that could send an arrow into the heart of any minister the gospel who is honest here it is Jeremiah said the ministers the pastors have transgressed Walking after things that do not matter Chasing after the wind Involved in things that don't count. Oh Think think of it ministers of the gospel Who have lost their burden? Who are chasing after things that have nothing to do with the ministry? chasing after things that do not count I Say to the men of God in the pulpit if you want to be a businessman go out and get a job as a businessman You're gonna be a politician run for Congress But if you're gonna preach the gospel give your life to it and don't chase after the wind Jeremiah said for the pastors have become carnal and sensuous Carnal and sensuous getting divorced all over the country I could stand here and just rattle off one famous name after another of ministers who have left their wives and picked up with somebody else I could name you right now three outstanding books that every one of you read reread and The men who wrote the books are now married to their secretaries or somebody else and I've talked to most of their wives and the wives Are heartbroken? Seeking the Lord the prayer life is gone. I had one pastor. Tell me who has time to pray anymore It's too busy. He said the church demands too much of my time Therefore they shall not prosper and all their flocks shall be scattered All folks I'm not down on the ministry not at all I stand with these men I am one of them But I'm preaching to myself tonight. I'm preaching something. God's been teething with me about That God would chase all the carnality and sensuality out of my life And so that I would dig down and fast and pray as never before When God began to reveal this to me, he first took stock of my own life And he showed me something. I realized I hadn't fasted in 20 some years I had read one day about the fast in Isaiah The fast that he has chosen ordained. It's done. Do the heavy birds and set the captives free nothing Well, who's fasting more than I am? I'm I'm sitting drug addicts alcoholics free in the power of the gospel I'm really fasting. So I went my merry way just eating to my full content Until the Lord showed me that's not enough. That's not enough now fasting has no merit in it as far as getting merit with God The real value is fasting is that it gets your mind off of food and the things of this world it gives you time and energy to put into seeking the things of God read his word and seeking God and focusing attention on your unsaved loved ones and real spiritual needs and folks when God showed me that I began to push myself away from the table and I begin to spend days fasting and praying And I wonder now Where I would be if God hadn't shown me that because when I begin to fast and pray he showed me so much garbage in My life, he showed me pride and ego He showed me things that made me wonder how God could have ever allowed me to stay in the pulpit Even though I've been preaching around the world had a national international pulpit and preach the thousands and having results I saw discovered things in my life that I wondered looking back how God could have ever allowed me in the pulpit I wondered at times why God didn't strike me dead Now what an adultist don't go thinking things like that. I thought I was humble until God showed me the pride The sin of pride is worse than any other sin in our lives God began to deal with me. He showed me this scripture many pastors have destroyed God's vineyard. How is God's vineyard being destroyed? They said many pastors have destroyed his vineyard and all I got a hold of that and said, oh God I don't want anyone to leave my crusades anymore with a false sense of security I want them to know that they've heard from heaven and that God has been speaking through my lips God is calling the congregation out of Babylon all his people For the Lord of hosts says Babylon is like the wheat upon the threshing floor in just a little while the flailing will begin So we move out of the midst of Babylon and go forth out of that place Go forth Isaiah Wrote a letter to the captives in Babylon He was trying to analyze why God had allowed this these people had seen the peace of Jerusalem These people who had lived in such peace and security and joy It had all been robbed from them. They're in captivity now They're like scattered sheep and Isaiah wrote a letter to the captives in Babylon And this is what he said you did not take the things of God to heart You were living in pleasure You lived carelessly You didn't take the things of God seriously, he said you quit trembling in my presence You quit trampling in my presence You see the ironic thing is that the Bible said even the devils believe in tremble And while the devil believes in the power of God because he knows what he can do He's trembling in the presence and power of God, but God's people are not And it's something He said you you're living in pleasure And you're living carelessly And you're really not taking the things of God seriously And one of the prophets said you come and cover the altar of God with tears, but you go home and mistreat your wife You cheat on your family I've seen that all over the country people who come and weep and cry and pray in church and go home and live so carelessly Cheating Involved in secret sin, and they come and cover the altar with their tears You have lost respect for God you no longer tremble in his presence Jeremiah 5 22 from the Living Bible Take a look around you folks Here we are at the brink of the coming Lord Jesus Christ and Where are a majority of the Saints of God today? They're at the beach They're checking out the latest Academy Awards, you know They're going to the shows to see if they were really worth the Oscars if they're in California The big thing right now even among Pentecostals is to trade your wine list Or They're parked in front of TV all afternoon watching as the world turns inside out and upside down Well, they like to go to they like to go to music Conventions and all kinds of concerts and when there's some big entertainment in the church Well, they flock it especially at Christmas and the pageants. They love the pageants Mm-hmm and a lot of you men saying give it to him brother Dave You have time to hunt and fish and watch hours and hours of sports But you don't have one hour in the whole blessed week to shut yourself in the secret closet The secret closets are vacant. They are vacant people are not praying people are no longer students of the word I say to you that's what the Prophet is saying. You have lived carelessly It is carelessness absolute carelessness to be on the brink of the coming of Lord and see your family going to hell knowing that members of your family unsaved and you have time to sit and watch hours and hours and hours of movies and television and not pray I Say it's carelessness that you should sit at a table that we should sit at our tables and Eat and eat and eat and become gluttons and neglect the spiritual welfare of our souls Carelessness the scripture says absolute carelessness I think it's absolute carelessness to be in this last day and age when all the ends of the world are coming upon us There's depression of spirit and mind and body And there's despair Homes are being split up and to see all of these things coming apart and not know where to turn How many of us are really students of the Word of God come on I Didn't say do you read your Bible I? Said are you a student? I had a businessman come to my door last week I Hadn't seen him in 10 years Last I'd heard of me was backslidden and living in terrible despair He's a fine man. He's a Fine father and a loving parent, and I love the man very much. I didn't have any at Mossie. I'd forgiven him But he hadn't forgiven me And last week I almost passed out there. He was my front porch Threw a bear hug around me brother Dave. I love you, and I knew God had touched him He was so on fire. He didn't bubbling over. He said praise the Lord I'm going all around the place making my wrongs right I've been talking about you brother Dave for 10 years I've hated you, but God taking that out Love you brother David my he didn't want on and on and on talking about it. Just rolling out of it I said my friend what in the world happened to you. What revival meeting did you go to? Who was the preacher I asked I asked who was the preacher he said no revival meeting brother Dave no preacher He said I just decided one day that I was going to read the Bible and become a student Until I found some answers for my life. I looked at them You mean to tell me but nothing but Bible reading then he told me something else that shook me up He said brother Dave. I went to a semi got church on my life, and you know it And they never did motivate me to read the Bible. It was all experience I'm going to a Baptist Church now, and they make me read my Bible They make me read my Bible. I've been motivated to read my Bible I Think it's one of the great weaknesses in the whole Pentecostal movement a lack of respect a lack of People studying really digging into the Word of God. There's an answer for every problem in your life You don't have to be divorced. You don't have to live in depression You don't have to live in fear if you were into the good book God would give you faith and power in your life over all the power of the devil We don't read our body. You know we do we pick up a tape or open a book or pick up the telephone tape worms Put up your tapes Put up your books for the next six months or a year and read nothing But your Bible and dig in to become a student Don't just read a few verses become a mighty student of the Word of God and God will send the greatest revival to this church It's ever had through Bible reading God is bringing Babylon down so he can raise up Zion Thou Shall arise and have mercy upon Zion for the time to favor her yea the set time has come Is he Zion is that true church at the last day? That's going to be raptured pure without spot without wrinkle the Lord shall build up Zion He shall appear in his glory. I Believe that we're on the verge of the greatest revival of holiness The church has ever seen God said I will rebuild the house of David which is fallen down I'll restore the house of David. I'll rebuild it I'm going to appear in my house, and I'm going to be restoring and I'm going to be rebuilding I have never believed that God would stand by idly While Christians are getting divorced and homes are falling apart and a whole generation of kids been given to drugs and sex and alcohol I've never believed God was going to sit by and do nothing about it The Lord said when the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him You know what that standard is Those are holy sanctified people filled with the Word of God the sword in their hand going to stand against this age God is going to start canceling divorces. He's going to start healing the hearts of the children and the parents There's a great revival of restoration coming to the Church of Jesus Christ. That's the standard. He's going to raise up in this last day Hallelujah blow the trumpet in Zion Sanctify a fast and call a solemn assembly. God's about to do something hallelujah. I Tell you that if you've been praying you've been sensing it in your heart Just like I have you've been feeling a stirring a drawing like you have never had in all your life now That's only if you've been praying and reading the Word God's calling. He's stirring and shaking us hallelujah First thing he does when he sends revival of holiness is to purify the music and now Let's see where we go I'm a student of church history as I told you I have seen it every time God sent a spiritual awakening and brought a revival of holiness The very first thing he did was to purge the music in the house of God Now you and I you and I know that God's got to throw the junk music out of the church. I Give you a prophecy here. It is from Isaiah and in that day shall a new song be sung on Mount Zion What new Holy Ghost wave music may tell you what this music is going to be he describes the message of this music no more Who did it? Who am I? Where am I? What shall I do? Dear Lord, will I make it? No here. It says the Lord of hosts has spread a wonderful feast for everybody He will remove the cloud of gloom he will wipe away the tears at last the Lord Whom we have spoken of is appearing in Zion to smooth out the road Hallelujah, there's a new song coming the church. I believe that there's going to be a new Emphasis on worship and praise and the great hymns of the church Our young people have never heard them God's reviving them It's an amazing thing that our young people today when they begin to hear the great anthems of the church They begin to respond to it to begin to open up Now I just wrote an article recently called the confessions of a rock-and-roll hater I thought God gonna be a message to blow all the so-called Christian rock and roll out of the church And the first thing God showed me was this sing a solemn sound unto the Lord and I thought there it is solemn That's heavy That that's high church And I thought boy, that's it Lord. Give me some more The next one he gave me was sing a loud song unto the Lord and I found 15 reference to loudness I said well Lord, that's not what I want But you see the Lord showed me that the loudness of the young Generations music doesn't bomb the drums don't bother them to the louder the better Make a joyful loud noise unto the Lord Well, that's not what I wanted Then he took me into the Pauline teachings about me you see the controversy in Paul's day wasn't music it was me and And there was meat that was certain that was sacrificed and dedicated to idols I had a worship and then it was sold in the shambles. That means the marketplace and Some of those Christians been saved from that kind of thing couldn't in all good conscience eat that meat But then there were a lot of Gentile Converts that didn't mean anything because they never worshipped idols and the idol was taken out of it and to them was just prime rib and So they ate it without it being feeling Any kind of conscience about it? you see the reason I hate rock and roll is because I grew up with Shelby checker and Elvis Presley and I Remember an Elvis Presley appeared on Ed Sullivan show the day after I heard a reporter say Elvis Presley's rotten tomato ought to be squeezed And boy everybody in a pulpit, you know Man after him and then this rock spread around the country rock and roll music My first book I ever wrote was rock and roll the devil's heartbeat First book I ever wrote when the Woodstock thing hit America I left New York and I bought a motorcycle and a black leather jacket and I spent months on that motorcycle going to music festivals and To me rock and roll was what I saw these festivals I had to put kids into ambulances some of them died. Their friends were so stoned. They didn't even care and to me It was rebellion. It was communism. It was Sex it was rebellion. It was drugs and alcohol and I really despised it because of all that I've seen but you see Janice Joplin died Jimmy Hendrix died and these kids got shaken up, you know, and many of us start getting saved a whole generate the Jesus movement All the Jesus hippies that came in remember the whole Jesus move. They all got say so what they do They brought their music in the church. They brought it with them. That's all they knew and Some of them were so godly. So I mean I used to talk to them and and they saw brother Dave, you know These parents putting us down. They love that country western stuff. That's that's drinking cheating stuff Yeah, and some of you people sitting right here You don't let your kids listen rock and roll but on the way to work. You sure love to hear your country western over the cheating and gambling and Oh, yeah, you know what I'm talking about They got Stonely-sided there just a minute But these kids to see the idol had been taken away from what Paul said It's not a sin to eat that which was once offered idols. It's not a sin No, he said every man has to judge by his own conscience If you can't do it with faith, then don't do it because it's sin to you But don't judge another in meat and don't judge another in music. And so right now I don't put kids down I don't to me rock and roll music Christian rock and roll music is no longer an issue because I believe it's all over anyhow God's doing a new thing in music and I'll just say this to young people and hear me give me your good ear and I know this to be a fact The closer you get to Jesus the more you'll want to hear the songs of worship and praise God is going to bring Zion back to the altar. He's bringing the church back to the altar You know David said the altars of God have been so forsaken that the birds have made their nest there The swallow has found a nest for herself even God's altar Can you imagine a bird building a nest the altar and it's so neglected wasn't even perturbed That's why I said how cry out he ministers of the altar Well, God is going to do a new thing. He's gonna bring Zion back to the altar Now I know that there's a tradition in evangelical churches, especially Pentecostal church called going to the altar It's a wooden rail that goes in front of the church. They call it the altar we're just kneeling on the steps and it's a tradition and a lot of ministers don't feel they had a meeting till the The front is filled with people and I feel real good go home I had a real meeting and people go home. I feel so good. I went to the altar No, you didn't that's not the altar now It can be if something happens there in your heart because the altar is in your heart It's in your heart This is the altar that you erect and that can be in the secret closet and folks the greatest work of God is not done Right here. It's done when you shut yourself alone with God in the secret closet The greatest worship the greatest power that you receive is in your secret closet Now Don't don't say that I don't have to go to the bench anymore But don't go just out of tradition Don't you ever again get up out of your seat and run down and kneel in an altar just to feel good Or just to say I went to the altar if you've got sin in your heart Do you have a need of prayer do it, but don't do it out of habit. Don't do it out of tradition. That's sin That's sin better to stay in your seat Than to play the game God said I'm going to erect a true altar. I'm going to get my people to praying again the fasting again and seeking my face God has promised that he's going to bring about a new kind of prosperity preaching a New kind of prosperity preaching not After the things of the world has nothing to do with Cadillacs It has nothing to do with success has nothing to do with a new home or a better job or anything like that Those things come automatically to people who are obedient to the Lord that comes under the covenant will of God The blessing for those who have read their hearts of sin those things happen automatically to those who walk close to Jesus Those are automatic blessings, but you see we don't do that now we seek after these things Now that's called Gentile faith in the Bible only the Gentiles Seek after these things But the Lord said don't even give a thought What you shall eat what you should drink or the clothes you should put on and if you can't even give a thought Now he commanded us not to even give a thought. How can you give any faith to it? That's Gentile faith only the Gentiles only the uncircumcised only the worldly do that He said set not your affection on the things of this world, but on the things above There's a new kind of prosperity preaching coming to the church and that's the preaching about the true riches of God in Christ Jesus The spirit the soul being prospered Rather than just the body God is about to bring down all the dainties of Babylon. That's what the scripture said dainties mean elegant things here's the prophecy and The good things that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee and all things which are dainty and goodly Are departed from thee and thou shall find them no more for in one hour all of these riches All of this prosperity will come to nothing one hour God can shake it out of the church in one hour and I believe that's exactly what he's about to do He's going to blow all of that worldly Three-minded Gentile faith out of the true church of Jesus Christ And the only thing that's going to be left is a hunger and thirst after Christ Jesus and his holiness and his righteousness That has to matter to you more than anything else in the world He said I'll take care of those other things. You give me your faith. You give me your love You give me your time seeking my face hallelujah Rejoice holy apostles and preachers. She who lived deliciously shall be thrown down in one hour. Oh What a dainty gospel we've been hearing lately full of dainties God said all those dainties you've been lusting after going to come to nothing Folks, do you know something that you're all you're if you've got one two, three cards all gonna burn It has to come burn You say when when Jesus comes it's all gonna burn doesn't matter anything you're gonna leave it to somebody believe it to the devil I don't care You leave it to the only thing that matters now is what you have in your heart You that you're growing in the Lord in the might and the glory of your spirit. That's all that counts Nothing else really matters I've got a book It's a out-of-print book one of my favorite books. It's it's I'm gonna have to get it rebound. It's falling apart It's about Edward Payson, they called him praying Payson. He was a Presbyterian preacher in Portland, Maine. This is 1807 1807 I don't know if many of you know that the United States was in another Great Depression at that time and He wrote a letter to his mother. He said dear mother The Depression is bankrupted almost every business in Portland Many are taking their lives because they have no Christ to support them The poor houses are filled to overflowing People being scattered to the four winds He said many in my church and most of the young married couples have lost their homes But they've taken joyfully the spoiling of their goods and he said Mother, I'm living on pennies. I can't afford to get married. I'm living on pennies myself But he said mother don't say poor Edward say blessed Edward Because the Lord has been showing us the true riches of Christ Jesus Beyond anything we've known he's opened the windows of heaven and before he closed his letter He said this I know how different from what we're hearing today in the land Wish every minister gospel could preach like this. Listen, this man prayed eight and ten hours a day He died a cripple with every bone in his body aching and Before he died. He said I want you to know it's been worth it all I've seen into the other world and it's true There's nothing in this world of any value but Jesus And his love and here's what he said. He closed the letter He said dear mother It is my prayer that if God has any worldly blessings in store for me He would be pleased to give me his grace instead or change them all into spiritual blessings God if you've got any worldly blessings in store for me change them all into something spiritual Hallelujah, you know what we should be saying in the Church of Jesus Christ Lord if you've got anything in store for me in a physical material way turn it into grace mercy and spiritual things Now in closing I've been asking God to give me something for the church. That would be uplift and exalting I didn't want it to be just a negative message and the Lord gave it to me I'm going to give it to you. And if you haven't heard anything else I've said in this message here this please This is the final word from Jeremiah speaking to those in Babylon and Babylon shall be left in ruins I will bring it down like a lamb to the slaughter Think of it.
