Welcome to the Lord's Challenge with Joshua Daniel. The Layman's Evangelical Fellowship International is a ministry reaching people from all walks of life since 1935. After a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ at the age of 16, Joshua Daniel has been declaring the marvelous deliverance from sin which is freely given to all those who turn to the loving Savior. From small villages to large cities, in many parts of the globe, through revival meetings, literature, radio, internet, and television, Joshua Daniel has been tirelessly laboring, trusting God to supply all that is needed. Wherever this message has gone out, broken relationships have been restored, sickness healed, ill-gotten money returned, and thieves turn into givers. We now invite you to watch and receive the invaluable blessing that God has for you. So dear friends, if you will please turn again to that portion of scripture, Psalm 8, you certainly would have noticed some of those wonderful statements. What is man that thou art mindful of him? You know, I try to tell people, look, there are millions of people like me, like you, and yet why should God focus on you and me? Why should he send his loving invitation and message to me, an unworthy wretch as I call myself? Psalm 8 please, third verse, when I consider thy heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have ordained. What is man that thou art mindful of him, and the Son of Man that you visited? Well, folks, you know, my knowledge of astronomy is very limited, but I trust all of you know that we are just a mere speck, a tiny celestial star in one of the smallest galaxies, and we have galaxies galore, so many other galaxies, and the vastness of it just bowls us over. And to think that you and I, small specks as we are in this great universe of ours, that we should have a personal relationship with the one who created this perfect universe with its unsearched and unexplored wonders. You know, I was thinking about the ants. Well, you'd better not put a piece of cake in your mouth into which a few red ants have gotten. You will soon know that red ants exist and they can pull their weight. Well, but do you know you have seen ants, all of you have, tiny little things, always busy. Now, do you remember any particular ant? Do you? Did you find some nice name for that little pet and say, I'm going to make this my household pet and put it in my ear, or some such thing? Of course not. You won't attempt it. It's simply unmeaningful. In that little speck is life, and in that little speck is action, not meaningless action, an action that foresees the future. It foresees a rainy day, a wintry day, and that God should put that intelligence into a little ant. Well, you and I might think of ourselves as tiny ants, except for this one fact, that Jesus came after us. Jesus came to seek and to find, to lift, to give to us an elevation, a promotion, which we ill deserve. So think of that. What is man? What am I? Why should God bother about me? Just a mere speck. Let him go. He's sowing his wild oats. Let him reap it. Let him reap them. Let him reap them to his fill. He's so proud and strutting away as though he's the master of the scene, which he well knows he isn't. But that's the kind of bluff that he wears. Let me leave him to his own devices. Let him have his fill of it. Why should not God just dismiss us like that and say he ill deserves my love and all the care which I have bestowed upon him? Why should I bother with it? Now, my dear friends, if Jesus Christ had abandoned me in that manner, oh, let me tell you, I would have just flunked every test in life. I would have been so miserable. But, you know, in these many years, I just wonder how is it that God should love a wretch like me? But that is God's love, something which blows our minds. So when we turn to Luke 12th chapter, there we see how Jesus Christ speaks of that love and care in this figure, 12th chapter and the sixth verse.
