Lest After I Have Preached to Others I Should Be a Castaway
Keith Daniel

Keith Daniel (1946 - 2021). South African evangelist and Bible teacher born in Cape Town to Jack, a businessman and World War II veteran, and Maud. Raised in a troubled home marked by his father’s alcoholism, he ran away as a teen, facing family strife until his brother Dudley’s conversion in the 1960s sparked his own at 20. Called to ministry soon after, he studied at Glenvar Bible College, memorizing vast Scripture passages, a hallmark of his preaching. Joining the African Evangelistic Band, he traveled across South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and made over 20 North American tours, speaking at churches, schools, and IBLP Family Conferences. Daniel’s sermons, like his recitation of the Sermon on the Mount, emphasized holiness, repentance, and Scripture’s authority. Married to Jenny le Roux in 1978, a godly woman 12 years his junior, they had children, including Roy, and ministered together. He authored no books but recorded 200 video sermons, now shared online. His uncompromising style, blending conviction and empathy, influenced thousands globally.

Sermon Transcription
We thank Thee for this joy of being together out of our love for Christ, otherwise probably none of us would be here together. And so thank Thee for the Lord Jesus Christ, our Father in Heaven, above anything that we could think of, that could come near our thoughts, in time or eternity, we thank Thee for Christ, my Son, who shed his blood, who rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and ever liveth, ever liveth to make and possess him, for everyone he died for, who has embraced his love and sacrificed by faith. Wherefore, he is able to save men through the utterance that come to him, that come to God through him. And so come, Father, and glorify thy Son tonight, in all of our hearts, to protect us from the powers of darkness and Satan, our enemy. Let there be a hedge around us, and angels with drawn swords to do battle against the powers of darkness, the Holy Spirit brooding upon us, and the soul center and ground, the risen resurrected power of Christ made manifest, to protect us and to bless us. Speak now, in thy mercy wash me afresh in the blood of God. God the Son, God the Creator, God the Savior, God the coming judge of all men, God the Son, fill me and anoint me in thy mercy with the Holy Spirit. Beyond human comprehension, how God could do that to such a base, weak, despised, and rightfully so aggressive as us, but we by faith ask thee, for without thee we can do nothing. And so come now, and answer this prayer, and visit every heart in the most profound way with eternal value. In Jesus Christ's holy, sacred name, we ask this of thee, our Father, with faith unswirling. Amen. You all know this passage, but I'd like to read it perhaps differently to you tonight. In 1 Corinthians 9, from verse 25, every man, every man that striveth, that striveth for the mastery, is temperate, is temperate, is temperate in all things. Every man that striveth, that aims and pursues for the mastery, that is to reach peak level physically and mentally, to be their best in order to be able to win a race, run effectively in any race, to reach peak level, every man that aims and pursues this, that striveth for the mastery, is temperate, that is, is ruthlessly disciplined in all things, in every aspect of his life. Now, they, that is, athletes, they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, an earthly crown, but we, an incorruptible, that is, a spiritual, eternal crown, I, therefore, Paul says, so run, that is, in the spiritual race, not the physical, I so run not as uncertainty. I have no doubt as to what is required of me through this book, through the words of God. I have no doubt what is required of me in every aspect of my life, to be able to run this race effectively and at my best. I, therefore, so run the spiritual race, not as uncertainty, so fight I, so fight I, not as one that beateth in the air. I know what I'm fighting for, I know whom I'm fighting against, I so fight I, not as one that beateth in the air, but I keep under my body, speaking of his spiritual life now, not his physical, I keep under my body and bring it into subjection, lest, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be accost away, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be accost away, that is, disqualified, disapproved. Brethren, I have to guard my spiritual life ruthlessly, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, especially if I have preached or faithfully witnessed to others, I myself should be accost away, literally meaning cost away, my credibility cost away, tragically forfeited and lost, my testimony cost thrown away, my ministry disqualified by everyone. Beloved, one of the most tragic, one of the most tragic and unnerving onslaughts and attacks against evangelical Christianity today, worldwide, is how many preachers and prominent Christians everywhere, prominent Christians, by that I mean evangelical soul winners, how many preachers and prominent Christians everywhere have fallen and been exposed in shameful sin, prominent evangelicals across the entire world are giving the unsaved, the ungodly, legitimate cause, legitimate reason to despise, reject and discredit the gospel, when David tragically fell into sin, Nathan, the prophet rebuked him in 2 Samuel 12 14, because by this deed, now has given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme David. Ecclesiastes 10 verse 1 warns us, dead flies cause, dead flies cause the ointment, the perfume of the apocryphal, to send forth a stinking savor, so doth a little folly, that all the devil wants her, that's all he's waiting for, so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honor. On our highways, national roads, today, whatever a high rate of fatal accidents have occurred, you will find a fearful and sober warning, reading danger, high alert zone, high alert zone, beware high casualty and fatal accident occurrence, you know, when one is confronted with such a grave warning, only a very foolish man or woman would not immediately slow down and begin to concentrate and become careful to avoid becoming the next casualty, only a very foolish person would do that, but beloved, we are living, it seems, in an unprecedented dangerous age where many well-loved preachers and prominent Christians have fallen into and are being mercilessly exposed in shameful compromise and sin. Christ warned us all that in the last days, because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. What a horrible warning, what a fatal warning. In the eschatology of Matthew 24, and you can go to every single other place, in the Bible, you will find there is going to be an escalation of things that always were there, but just before Christ's return, there'll be an escalation of wars as never before, there's always been wars, escalation of diseases, escalation of earthquakes, there's always been diseases, but as never before, earthquakes as never before, natural disasters as never before, this escalation and an escalation of moral decadence, because iniquity, moral decadence, depravity shall abound. That word in the Greek, the fearful word, is used today primarily for an avalanche that escalates every second, grows in momentum, nothing can stop it. Every barrier before in our world is restricted, nothing could stop it, because of the media, especially every media, every media, the love of many, the wax cold, that word many is fearful, literally in the Greek, the closest you'll come to it, the masses, the most. Take that word many in Matthew 5, 6, and 7, where Christ again and again, many false prophets shall abound and deceive many. The word there means the most. Under the banner of Christianity, in its context, in the world before Christ comes, just before the return of Christ, when all these things are happening, the most preachers will be heretic, heretics, sects that sit under the banner of Christianity, and most who gather under the name of Christ, under the banner of Christianity, worldwide, just before Christ returns, will be deceived, itching ears, you know, heaping to themselves, teachers. You see, they want anything, but don't, don't give them this, don't talk of sin, don't condemn my soul, don't make me uncomfortable, you lose my seat, you lose my tithing, don't tell them of eternal judgment, don't talk about repentance, talk about come, believe, receive, accept, but don't talk about repent, and so men stand there, actors, they still have gone straight to Hollywood, they dress like it, they make more money than Hollywood film stars do, the most preachers, the most who gathered under the banner of Christianity, worldwide, the masses, and so, even when he said, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, preached in its context, in the life of Jesus Christ, have we not preached in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name have done many wonderful works, miracles, you know Jesus didn't say no, that didn't happen, casting out devils in the name of Jesus, that's it, miracles, you preached in my name, no, Christ didn't say that, I never knew you, I wonder what percentage of people who cast out devils in the name of Jesus today, for sensationalism, who cry out about miracles, who preach, what percentage who stand in the I never knew you, apart from the, leave that work, iniquity, you see they never repented, preachers, many, same word, the most, who preach under the banner of Christianity, worldwide, just before Christ returns, and if you don't know that's close, sir, there's something wrong with you, in the light of this book, we may not be able to give the day, but every single thing Christ said of eschatology, of what would happen of the eschatology, and every single aspect, especially moral decadence, has happened, because iniquity, moral decadence that abound, escalates to a degree nothing will stop it, ever, no government, nobody's going to be able to stop this, like a volcano, the love of the most, worldwide, sir, who profess Christianity, who gather in the name of Christ, who preach in the name of Christ, who cast out devils in the name of Christ, fearful, beware, just because you were a preacher, in God's service, it doesn't mean that you also can make shipwreck of your life and ministry, it doesn't make you immune, sir, Hebrews 12 verse 15, looking, looking diligently, lest any man fall from the grace of God, verse 16, lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, lest there be any fornicator, that's immoral, sexually immoral, as Esau, now he goes to Esau, why does he do that, who for one morsel of meat, sold his birthright, for ye know, how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place of repentance, of undoing, or reversing the consequences of what he had so foolishly done, in a weak moment, though he sorted carefully with tears, oh, one weak moment, one weak moment, preacher, prominent Christian, one wrong choice, everything you have gained of trust, privilege, from everyone you know, in this world, could be lost forever, never to be regained again, Christian, think not that your forgiven sins will have no earthly consequences, yes, you may be forgiven, I have no doubt in the grace of God, to every one of us, that's beyond comprehension, think not that your forgiven sins will have no earthly consequences, don't dare believe that, I want to repeat it again, think not that your forgiven sins will have no earthly consequences, the preaching policeman, Derek Melton, Oklahoma, prior city, he cried, what a dear man of God, you need to go on his website sometimes, to read all his little statements that he puts daily, staggering statements, think not that your forgiven sins, child, will have no earthly consequences, number 32 verse 23, warns all, warns all of us, be sure your sin will find you out, what does that mean, in this context, will affect your lives adversely, tragically forever, God said, this is God's word, beloved, a Christian is in danger zone, a Christian is in danger zone spiritually, when he like Esau, faces temptation and literally casts aside, he disregards any thought of the consequences, he is in danger zone, he only regards the moment of sinful pleasure, now don't doubt this, he is in the alert zone, where higher currents of fatal fertility happen in our privileged Christian war world, he has most certainly, most surely neglected and thrown aside, every meaningful spiritual exercise and discipline, to maintain his relationship with God, I want to repeat that, he has most surely, there's no doubt now, he has thrown away, cast aside, every meaningful spiritual exercise and discipline, to maintain his relationship with God, be careful, be warned, no matter who you are, sin lieth at the door, sin lieth at the door, you think God said that to Cain, no sir, he said it to you, just read it in its context, pray about it, reflect on it in the light of the rest of the scriptures, you'll be stunned to God saying that to you sir, to all of us, be careful, that you think you're giving to God of your life, that is displeasing to God, sin lieth at the door of Cain, therefore be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, your enemy, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, so we're going to take that lightly and say that can't happen, even though God says it can, 1 Peter 5 verse 8, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, your enemy, the devil, as a roaring lion, walk about seeking whom he may devour, neither give place to the devil, Ephesians 4 verse 27, neither give place to the devil, don't invite the devil to destroy you, don't foolishly give him opportunity to destroy you, brother, sister, let me warn you, don't play the fool with a lion, you think God doesn't weigh up every word he allowed to be in this sacred book, when I was a boy, every year the circus in all countries of Africa would come, in those days, there wasn't so much activity on the internet and the television or whatever that keeps people at home, no one can compete with Hollywood, if that's where your heart is, well, the circus would come, now everybody, trust me, weeks upon weeks, the lines, the rows, the queues, around the blocks, around this massive tent that holds hundreds and hundreds of people, week day after day, night after night, and we would stand in that long line, Boswell Wilkie Circus, now when I was a boy, there was a big advert and a big painting right across the whole tent, of a lion taber, called Carl Fisher, he was famous in Africa, Carl Fisher, what they had these big steel things all around, there's all the baluses, all the seating places, hundreds watching, all the children, oh, there was the clowns, yes, there's the trapeze, yes, everything that goes with the circus, thrilling and thralling, yes, and then there was the lions, and then he had come, you see, on that big painting and in the newspapers, it advertised a strange thing, a beautiful thing, this Carl Fisher used to take a lion's mouth and pull it open, literally, and put his whole head into the lion's mouth, now that was very foolish, and I sat there and watched him, I was trembling, I stood there, oh, and he pulls this, keeps pulling it, throws his hands up, and all the people applaud, oh, what a wonderful man, the next show, when I sat there, the next show, all the people, children, that lion that he trusted, with no fear, raised from little cupboards, and those ferocious teeth, and that's strong, just, what he did to the rest of that body before they could stop that lion, I can't even tell you, but in newspapers, for children not to do that, don't play the fool, and God thought you might think of that, and he called it a lion, in his book, it's about seeking whom will give him place, give him opportunity, and folly to destroy him, oh, that was a terrifying thing to have witnessed, but beloved, it is more terrifying for me today, and fearful to witness this lion that God warned us about, destroying minister, and preacher, and prominent Christian, again and again, everywhere, there's an article in one of our main newspapers back in Southern Africa, I tore the top part of the page out, it's in Afrikaans language, how this man, there he is, kitty, kitty, fancy calling the lion kitty, and they just ripped him, ripped him apart, that was this year, 11th of May, 2014, oh, how many people, preachers, prominent Christians, I know, foolishly, tragically gave place to Satan, to the devil, believing that they could get away with it, I have a list here that I hope nobody ever finds, but I dared to make it, names, preachers that I knelt beside and wept with the soul, wept within their conferences where they allowed me to preach, their pulpits, I had no doubt they were godly, I have no doubt, the souls that came to Christ under their ministry, they were influenced, it was God, the Holy Ghost, meeting them, those souls stand, who the devil has destroyed. In this last two years, only, little only, the forty-some odd years I've preached, that I knelt beside and prayed. That makes me fearful, sir, but what was the tragic cause, what was the cause of so many preachers and prominent Christians falling into shameful sin, what was the tragic cause? I was preaching on a tour of our country, and they took me into the high mountains, and there was a two-hour journey through a very large pass, similar to the Grand Canyon, but not, of course, in any way, comparative, because it's nothing like the Grand Canyon on earth, it's so magnificent, so long, so rugged, but its beauty, Mary's Port Pass, where they took me up, through where the river had just washed away down through the years, down, down, hundreds of feet, mountains, going through all the beauty. Now, that river's still there that did this, but as we stopped at one of the viewpoints, waterfalls, climbed up to the waterfall, I noticed something staggering, the largest tree, and there were many magnificent trees in that whole gorge, I'm talking about magnificent trees that have stood for many, many years, but the very largest tree, it caught my notice, so I walked across, I suddenly looked in here, carefully, you see, that tree had stood longer than all the other trees, growing in strength, flourishing, growth, but now, most of its roots had been, its soil had been washed away, here it was, most of the roots were hovering over nothing, a few roots left, holding that tree up, one wondered how it's possible a tree could still be standing, it takes a little wind, or a little more water in the river rising, that tree's going to fall, though it stood longer than any tree in sight, and had been stronger than any other tree there, to have survived all that time, its roots were hovering over nothing, most of its roots, the soil had been washed away by that river, here was a tree whose roots were no longer safely sunk into good soil, no longer rooted and grounded safely in the soil, in the earth, now in Cape Town, where I live, the most beautiful city in the world, they say, I don't think you can argue with literally millions from all over the world that come every year, every year millions is flocked to Cape Town, not to South Africa, but to Cape Town, to witness, and they have agreed, of all these tourists, there's no city on earth like this, such amazing beauty, Table Mountain, so high you can't believe it, but flat two miles, we walk up these big cable cars, they're taking all these visitors up, restaurants and pubs, and the view of the two oceans meeting, Atlantic and Indian Ocean, India, the most magnificent city, we just live beneath it, by the way, you look out of our front door, there's the mountain, climbed it many times, I'm enjoying it very much, in this Cape Town, we have what they call the company gardens, now historically, those company gardens made it the oldest man-made park in the entire Africa, there's many beautiful parks, botanical gardens, amazing parks that draw the crowds, Kirsten Boss is regarded by many as the greatest park on earth, with the most variety of wonderful trees and vegetation, amazing place, but in the company garden, running adjacent to our beautiful Parliament building, some of the most beautiful buildings in the entire world, for our Parliament, stood there for many hundreds of years, well, this year, there's this company garden, and there is a variety of vegetation and trees, that have come from many parts of the world, as the early immigrants, 200 years ago, 300 years ago, some planted these things, now I've looked at these trees, because I go and walk down there, it's not too far from my home, and I pray, it's very beautiful there and quiet, and secure and safe, and I look at these trees, I look at it, I saw this year, one tree that really struck me, right at the edge, it's the largest tree in the entire park, which goes on and on, something like Central Park, not quite as long as Central Park, but oh, magnificent, I saw this tree just going up and up and I walked, and I looked through all the trees, walked through and got to this tree, and I was stunned, it had roots like no other tree in the whole of the company garden, the roots were as high as this, why was it, not just seeping into the ground, but growing right across, seeping into the soil everywhere, roots that you could climb on, if you had to climb over, some would do that, magnificent roots, they're spreading further and further, no wonder it reached such a height, and so far, in spite of the capable storms, the most violent winds and storms you could ever imagine, they're not quite like yours, sorry, it's very, very, really, nonetheless, here are those roots, so I, of course, look on the big plaque, the old plaque there, with writing on against this tree, to see what this tree is called, this is what I read, of course, it is Fictus Elastia Murakaya, Fictus Elastia, what you call in the Benzen group of figs, you, you pretend that I pronounced that right, but it is known generally as a rubber tree in much of the world, it is native to northeast India and southern Indonesia, now in parts of India, the people guide those roots over chasms, high cliffs, dangerous chasms, deep and steep, they guide those roots over and eventually they form living bridges across these dangerous gaps down these cliffs and they're able to cross, not on a man-made bridge but a tree that the roots can be guided and steered by man, amazing, how does the devil wash away the soil, that is the means through which our spiritual roots feed and gain strength and security, how does the devil wash away the soil that kept us spiritually solidly seeped into the ground of spiritual things, beloved, he sends a river of legitimate yet meaningless non-essential time-consuming things to divert the soul from spending any meaningful time with God anymore, the meditation of his word above everything, now may I ask every one of you sitting here tonight that names the name of Jesus, preachers included, soul is included, respected by everyone, may I ask every one of you, has the devil washed away all the rich spiritual soil that you once sunk your roots into daily, has he washed it all away with meaningless activity, even religious activity that he shouldn't be as he went, and now you may look God, God's work can become sin if it keeps you from God, be careful, be careful, Christian you urgently need to take those roots that are tragically hovering now over nothing and redirect them to sink them again into God's word, foremost sir, from the day of your salvation till the day you die, your greatest discipline in life daily must be the meditation of God's word or you are a backslider, you aren't a little bit backslidden, you are totally backslidden, you are a grief to God, not a little grief, you are a total grief to God if the meditation of the word of God is not primarily your first discipline in life and you'll be stunned what you don't have to be busy doing to find the time you say you can't find anymore, if you're honest with God in yourself which costs today, the foremost discipline in life if you stay right with God daily and this is how you know you're right with God, is the meditation of the word of God, the unhurried meditation of God's word, it must be the most guarded, treasured, nurtured discipline of your life, every day of your life that nothing Satan or man can do will divert you from or hurry you from or you are a backslider and in terrible danger of bringing blaspheme on God's name sir, don't you doubt that sir, someone is placed there because according to the rest of the scriptures you'll be doers of the word not here is only this evening is that someone is there and you have to live it before you dare to read psalm 2 because sir you skip that and try the rest of the psalms you're really going to stagger it and you're not working out and how little you really have that's why psalm 119 is exactly the same as psalm 9 the importance the vital essential importance of the meditation of the word of God about anything very shocking the more you give of God's word to your day the less possibility there is that you will ever neglect it if you're neglecting it's because you gave a little bit it's the only book that can do this that the holy spirit the more you give the more you want it the less you have anything that could pull you away or distract you because nothing is more vital nothing is more meaningful nothing is more rich nothing is more more than gold I treasure that read psalm 119 every single verse related to the vital and it's the longest passage in the entire bible why because it's the most important why before any other psalms all your promises have you grabbed because God wanted to read psalm 1 blessed I love that word he's the man that doesn't delight in the things of the world the things that grip the unsaved his delight verse 2 is in the law of the lord now that's what they had when this was written that was the word of God we have the full bible his delight his all-consuming delight is in the law of the lord in his law doth he meditate that cancels out any hurry day and night not all day not all night but wherever you have a choice you bury anything that is not essential you give it to God's word this is God's word not my standard if you're uncomfortable with it you're uncomfortable with what God requires of you blessed sir cancel out the word blessed if this isn't your life because if it isn't you might as well start with the word cursed beginning with those in your home and I dare you to stand up and say it's not true but you do not make this your all-consuming delight he doesn't waste his time with work worthless distractions endless diversions redeeming the time if he's inside this one you see he shall be like a tree this is God's promise you see there's always a condition to the promises of God there's no such thing as a promise without conditions you think you can be clever and try and find something sir I'll tell you what every promise in this book has radical conditions but it's not in the verse itself the second half of the verse it's in the passage and the rest of the rest of the scriptures you'll find it radical conditions God has no obligation sir to you if you don't fulfill those conditions here's God's promise if you fulfill the conditions of the first few verses he shall be God promised like a tree planted by the rivers of water that word planted is wonderful that bringeth forth his fruit in his season his leaf also shall not wither whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper that's not speaking about prosperity that's of the devil right from Satan nothing to do with it material financial prosperity there this is spiritual prosperity the leaf the fruit is speaking of spirits you will be firm with God and you will be a threat to Satan every day of your life you howl and fear as you walk out your door if you walk out of the door after spending time with this until God says now go and now you will stab powers of hell because you were a new day by day with the only thing that will renew you in us the word of God sir you say we kept by the power of God what's the condition through faith where is faith from faith cometh by the word sanctify them keep them separated i pray that thou does not take them from the world but thou keep them from the evil how thy word sanctify them through thy truth thy word it's always the word there is also a young man cleanses way by taking heed according to thy word my word have i hid within my heart that i might not sin against thee there's no other way sir here's God's promise all beloved steer your roots over the chasms the tragic voids that your spiritual life now dangerously hovers over if he's in three verse seven that ye being rooted and grounded that's very solid ground coliseum's two seven rooted built up in him established in effect as you've been taught David cried in Psalm 119 turn away my eyes sorry it's Ezra that wrote Psalm 119 turn away mine eyes for beholding vanity now you might think that's sensual thing no it's not you know what it means really mean in its context and the actual word i'm looking at worthless things i'm wasting my time with worthless things in God's eyes worthless in God's eyes he's speaking to God now turn away my eyes from beholding vanity from looking at worthless things the next verse verse 47 for i will delight myself in thy commandments i don't want to delight in anything else God firstly we must seek those roots we must steer them and lead them over the void that we've allowed Satan to wash away everything with worthless meaningless time-consuming activities back into his word back into God's word secondly into good literature that open up the word of God now be careful 90 of the books today are trash you judge me God will judge me if i don't tell you shallow meaningless diverting trash walk out of Christian book rooms literally ill go not to the new books most of them those people who wrote them won't die climbing they'll die insane go to the men who died climbing who moved this world to God and masses and nations go you can spend your life you'll never get to the end start with the biographies start with John Wesley George Whitfield there you are great Wesley in our ministry great Calvin's what's the difference they were men of God get the get the biography go to the George Mueller's the D.R. Moody's go on take these books Charles Finney their mistakes yes are there but be warned by them men are capable of mistakes mistakes on sin as they said persons ever say we all are not perfect in understanding we can make great mistakes but these men rewrote the last chapter of their lives apologizing for the division you find that you're so much like them they faced failure they faced confusions they faced weeping and groaning in agony as things fell apart in their lives and they faced with united but they triumphed and they give the reasons why integrity with God get good book sir you don't waste your time with books any day of your life that you've neglected this when the holy ghost witnesses with your spirit that this book has not been neglected but you have given God his time then you have the right where you find time to pick up other books but be careful what you pick up I don't pick up a book since I was saved it hasn't been recommended to me by the godliest of the godliest of the godliest of the godliest on earth and then if I'm not gripped by the first five papers I don't throw it back into the shelf I throw it in the dirt box wow what do I want to waste my life and time with something that doesn't grip me and throw me it must break this book open it's central it must be Christ from page one or otherwise it's not worth it and bring me into a deeper relationship with God and understanding of his word oh get back to good literature sir there is good books pilgrims progress you're in poverty you're illiterate spiritually you haven't read that most christians used to keep it beside their bible it's the second most printed book and read book in earth history second to the bible only because it's a scriptures all related to the practical outworking of christianity in a man and that's why it makes it so special don't bury these books such as the progress but don't waste your time with 90 percent at least of every book you'll find in the modern day modern day christian books firstly the bible let your roots back discipline yourself go back to good the bible itself don't neglect it then good literature but be careful and then sermons good sermons give time to you say like most christians where do you find uncompromising purpose today you walk in to this church that church that church searching nobody gets broken down beginning with the music the devil's got his music there's nothing of God in the whole place how can you preach the gravity and sacredness of this book after you're listening to music that you used to hear in the nightclub for God's sake you want to be walking near it now it's so disturbing that there is such a it's in the churches but there's good sermons even if you go to church where it's not perfect go there get something out of the hymn yes don't neglect that but you can get good sermons through the internet now of course the internet is used by the devil terribly ten-year-old children defiled forever access to these filthy things whatever you want unless you're strong enough in your faith and you know days the day you're not throw the whole thing out is it worth closing your walk with God and perhaps your children your wife's trust and see yourself your conscience in God right now but if you're strong enough and protected and you know you are then on the internet with these sermon index sermon audio and over a hundred different websites they've somehow taken this old man's sermons read them across the world which I thank God for you will find godly sermon and unending mostly dead they asked me if I could use my sermon I didn't even know what on earth the website was so all these preachers driving along to his man's on the phone he's been trying to get you can't get over you he wants to know can he put your sermons on the website what on earth is a website they all looked at each other in dead silence looking out the window a decent way of telling me oh what's this man up to from the dungeon nonetheless I said no the internet's the devil I don't want to be like Christian television no way they've asked me I mean no anyway brother this thing is tomorrow's media this is tomorrow's way of communication across the world you don't say no to this man he's deeply conservative he he only has dead preachers on his website you'll be the first living one now I didn't know whether they were condemning me or encouraging me dead preacher I'm dead you see nonetheless okay if you say so tell him fine you know that was Greg Gordon of the sermon index show I was the first living preacher the rest were moody and I am bound told you all these fellows here they didn't got the great William Booth and even Moody hear these old recordings of these great men no of course it was the lord that these people have done it and I worship the lord for their trust in me as I see now that I preach perhaps to 200 people there's thousands and thousands in the sermons I preached 40 years ago you know how they got all these sermons but they got them hallelujah but beloved you have access on websites if you're under the blood prayerfully asking god protection to tozer aw to reese howells lennon revenue david wilkerson men who were valiant for the truth they gave no place for compromise and they died climbing those men you listen to now before the devil attempts to wash away the remaining soil that your spiritual roots are actually still drawing from that's kept you from a total fall that's kept you from being totally destroyed you need to guide all the roots back to ruthlessly throw out of your life anything that is not of god and discipline yourself to redeem the time the little time you have left in your life and you've got one little time sir to plant your roots back back back today as never before we look in shock and sorrow and shame at great men who once were used mightily by god who now shamefully fallen and god has graced and causing blasphemy and the ungodly and the stumbling block to the masses they were once a blessing to brother sister we dare not look at them judgmentally i want to repeat that we dare not look at them judgmentally but as god's merciful warnings to all of us for you may be next and you never forget this sermon for it preachers take care here there may be only two defining moments in your god-given ministry firstly the call secondly before beloved it may be that this message will be to you a beam from a lighthouse sent by god in mercy that will shake you and make you turn as that beam through this message comes through all the storms of life and everything that the devil's created in time to avoid shipwreck to turn as this beam from a lighthouse to turn and avoid shipwreck of your ministry your life your testimony but you must not hesitate you dare not hesitate you see there must be a turning point brother sister i'm one of those preachers i believe you want to stroke into this you have to come and make a total dedication you may have a testimony of once being absolutely surrendered to god but you've lost it everything you may have a testimony if you point back in the test about where you were genuinely filled with the spirit of god which is not evidenced by manifestations or time according to 1 corinthians 12 13 14 it's evidenced by the fruit of the spirit christlikeness victory in every aspect of what god says is victory beginning with love you may once have experienced a dying to self but it's no longer now you pursue your own things again the greatest need is to rededicate your life there has to be an absolute surrender again a full surrender to be spirit filled means to be controlled full stop outside of that it means nothing he's in you don't doubt that otherwise you're none of him but he's not controlling you look at your life and say he is i mean even your religious activities but look at the vital god perhaps tonight has reminded you carefully and carefully his love to you romans 12 verse 1 paul cried out i beseech you brethren by the mercies of god literally i beg you now if paul begged christians i'm willing to beg you that you're in danger i'm begging you by the mercy that you present your bodies literally you dedicate that's one thing god can't do for you god consecrates what you dedicate you can't consecrate god won't dedicate you dedicate when you do god consecrates that you dedicate that you present your bodies a living sacrifice the altar in the old testament a whole body of a carcass of a dead animal the entire animal had to be placed on his entirety but he doesn't want a dead sacrifice inside of calvary no he wants your whole body a living sacrifice but everything on the altar absolute surrender or nothing or second best and saying and disgrace upon his name through you though you're safe don't doubt this now that you may prove what is that perfect and acceptable but you've got to do that i'm begging you today with your role on the altar god aren't you god i'm talking about everything for you a tree that's about to fall like they have in their multitude even this year of great men who genuinely walked with god as a warning from god at least i'm the next as paul warned that he even he could be just to add to the sermon that when i have preached to others i myself should be cast away disqualified everything that really was from god and privileged me and gained the respect of the goddess i salute everything beginning with my children who will never trust me again my wife will never trust me again no one will trust me in the pulpit again without remembering how can you be here again what is done secondly doctrinally morally cast away secondly because of doctrinally this is a fearful thing everywhere you go you will see preachers you will find preachers who once preached truth who are now heretical sects i mentioned and touched on it last night to timothy 113 hold fast the form of sound words which you heard of me holding fast as he has taught you as he has been taught that he may be able by sound doctrine both to resort and to convince other men titus 1 9 study to show thyself approved under god workman that needed not to be ashamed that can happen rightly dividing the word of truth by the two seven in doctrine showing uncorruptness gravity sincerity sound speech it cannot be condemned but neither does the contrary part they have no evil thing to say one timothy one verse six from which some have swerved have turned aside and to vain juggling idle talking desiring to be teachers of the law but understanding nothing neither what they say what they affirm and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine one timothy 119 some have made shipwreck poor christ 118 that there may be that thou by them might have wore a good warfare holding faith and a good conscience which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck shipwreck morally shipwreck of your testimony your life your ministry doctrinally the first thing god will remove from a preacher who harbors sin again in life hidden sin is discernment david wilkerson said ephesians 4 14 that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the slight of men cunning cross but they lie and wait to deceive oh they're everywhere i could go on and on with scriptures warning us that this can happen to you if you don't guard against it you can make shipwreck you could be cast away not only because of morally but doctrinally cast away what's the reason right failure of many preachers is their success here's all the illustrations of preacher upon preacher who once preached truth that i even stood in their pulpits who are now the most fearful sects erroneous heretics that can happen you can make shipwreck morally shipwreck doctrinally be careful jenny's father he's a farmer he's also a preacher never been through a theological seminar in his life but he spoke to more preachers i think than most preachers in the history of our country we love them flocked he was in the school of god there in the tractor there in the lands they were the floods the droughts learning and he would bring practical christianity and brokenness and they flocked to hear this man who had no degrees beyond his name these people with degrees now on his farm they had beautiful farms they lost everything why there was some treatment of the soil that was supposed to be good for the trees and protect them and make them grow and so they believed this and put this all over but it was poison to those trees all the orchids orchids the fruit down the hills over the valleys these trees from the inside were poisoned they thought it was all right but inside these trees were rotten it began for him they lost everything and all did he have to get in his face to divide the father for years even now never recovered from the tragedy of poison being put into the soil and be careful just as you morally will be kept through this never neglected primarily so you will be don't allow yourself to blind your eyes to the truths of god's word through new movements new emphases from new preachers who gain the crowds in the world attention the diuretics no matter who you are you don't say the jehovah witnesses will get to heaven like one of the most famous preacher in the entire world of our generation is saying he wouldn't have said that when he's young the shins of the danger when you're old you can throw everything away be careful every one of you even the most famous preacher in generations history be careful sir you don't bury this and go for the poison the trees will begin from inside to rot and begin to fall oh be careful morally doctrinally lord we would be faithful lord we would follow you and would enter each morning devoted and true at the end of life's journey on that glorious day as we look into your eyes we want to hear you say well done my good and faithful servant enter into my kingdom you have fought the fight you have kept the faith according to my world well done my good and faithful servant great is your reward you have been faithful now your race is run well done my servant well done done for i was hungry and you fed me thirsty and you gave me drink you served others in my name you spread my gospel without shame and you were light in the darkness you were strength for the weary you were my messengers to spread my gospel of love well done my good and faithful servant enter into my kingdom you have fought the fight you have kept the faith according to my word well done my good and faithful servant great is your reward lord you have been faithful now your race is run well done my servant can we stand now false focus after i have preached i desperately want to die climbing because others that were far greater than i ever could ever reach in god's service and for you young old preachers youth leaders missionaries and you know what steams you blesses god for you that this beam of light makes you turn before you cast away beginning with your family oh don't you think the devil can do that you play the fool any longer sir and don't get ruthless in every aspect of your life there you have it are you saved um two or three of you agree i think anything the will of my father in my name it shall be done amen dear father thank you so much for the opportunity to hear from your word tonight and to be encouraged and lord thank you for challenging our hearts and lord really stirring us about what we need to do and how we need to walk with you but i pray that you would help each of us to have a heart after you and lord have a love for you greater love for your word father or deepen our devotion to you and to your word thank you father for brother keith daniels for using him for using your word in our lives tonight father i pray that you would be with us lord and you would help each of us to walk with you for all of our days lord and to live our lives for the gospel of jesus christ and to share that gospel with others and lord i pray that we would attest our right and everything to this world i pray all these things in jesus name amen now go love joy but if you needed to go and be alone with jesus say amen and god pity you if you don't go along with jesus now and make that dedication knowing that it might cost you everything you have in life and most activities people look at you they're not called to serve they're called to walk with god sir primarily anything you do isn't serving god it's dangerous anything that's a serving god that isn't the result of the relationship with god which is obtained and maintained primarily through the meditation of the word of god daily is not of god it's dangerous to everyone especially me so now go where you need notion and going eating little things and that we have gravity after this message or you think you're not doing the devil's work after this message
