The Call of God to Preach and Its Consequences
Keith Daniel

Keith Daniel (1946 - 2021). South African evangelist and Bible teacher born in Cape Town to Jack, a businessman and World War II veteran, and Maud. Raised in a troubled home marked by his father’s alcoholism, he ran away as a teen, facing family strife until his brother Dudley’s conversion in the 1960s sparked his own at 20. Called to ministry soon after, he studied at Glenvar Bible College, memorizing vast Scripture passages, a hallmark of his preaching. Joining the African Evangelistic Band, he traveled across South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and made over 20 North American tours, speaking at churches, schools, and IBLP Family Conferences. Daniel’s sermons, like his recitation of the Sermon on the Mount, emphasized holiness, repentance, and Scripture’s authority. Married to Jenny le Roux in 1978, a godly woman 12 years his junior, they had children, including Roy, and ministered together. He authored no books but recorded 200 video sermons, now shared online. His uncompromising style, blending conviction and empathy, influenced thousands globally.

He emphasizes the importance of not becoming embittered or full of self-pity when faced with challenges in fulfilling God's calling. The speaker references William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, who fearlessly ventured into dangerous areas to spread the gospel. He also highlights the significance of Jesus' call to fishermen to become fishers of men, emphasizing that God equips and anoints those He calls. The sermon concludes with a story about Samuel, the speaker's child, and the beauty of Cape Town, South Africa, as a backdrop to the message.
Sermon Transcription
Let's bow our heads, please. Our Father, we bless Thee, we praise Thee, we worship Thee, for Thy Son, Jesus, the Christ, our God, our Saviour, our dearest friend, we worship Thee for His death, for me, to live for eternity, we worship Thee for His life on earth and His words, recorded in this book, we worship Thee for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We worship Thee for the Holy Spirit, who shall not speak of Himself, His whole work is to glorify Christ. We worship Thee for the Holy Bible, our Father, which Thou hast entrusted to us to pass on in the relay race of earth's history, from good men who gave us its teachings with no compromise, to pass on with no compromise, to those God brought near us to say, I give these men this message now, that they may run probably the last lap of the race, right now, before Christ's return. And so we worship Thee, that we can ask Thee by the Holy Ghost to bless this word to our hearts, to protect us from Satan, our only enemy, his demons, rebuke Thou Thyself, Satan, and his demons away, in the name of Jesus Christ, and by the Holy Spirit brewed upon this building, and in every heart, and reach out and turn our direction forever, in Jesus Christ's name, for His glory, Amen. In Jeremiah 1 verse 4, Then the word of the Lord came unto me, then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the womb, I knew thee. Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee. Before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God, behold, I cannot. Moses said that, Ezekiel said that, I cannot, not me, no. Then said I, Ah, Lord God, behold, I cannot speak, for I am a child. I am a child, but the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child, for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee. Whatsoever I command thee, thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their face unto thee, for I am with thee, I am with thee to deliver thee, said the Lord. Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth, and the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. I have put my words in thy mouth. If God commands you to do something, it is the highest possible evidence equal to an oath that you can do it. Charles Finney said, If God commands you to do something, it is the highest possible evidence equal to an oath that you can do it. The great Charles Finney said, When the dear Lord Jesus looked at fishermen, uneducated, and said to them, Come, come, follow me, and I will make you to become fishers of men, to become soul winners. Don't ever lose sight of those few words. If God has ever called you, I will make you. All you are required to do from my heart is to follow me, to obey me if I call you. Leave the rest to God as far as anointing and equipping you to become a soul. I will make you to become fishers of men. That's God's anointing. That's God's equipping. That's God's business. You don't doubt God if he says to you, Come, follow me. I will make you. When I was first saved, 45 years ago now, it was within a few months, three months, sitting in a meeting that suddenly God impressed on my heart, and I will never doubt this. I've never doubted it from that moment as I sat there listening to that message. I've never doubted that from that day to this, that God was there speaking to me, to the basest, weakest of people, in that pulpit. He wanted my life to preach his gospel, to burn every bridge behind me in one moment, forever that night. Not to consider it, to do it right then, because it was his voice, reaching my heart where no human voice could ever reach, and I knew that. And you know when it's God, when it's not man's voice reaching where no human heart can reach. You know you have to do with God every plan you've ever made, Keith, every dream you've ever had in life, Keith. Burn it, bury it, that you never look back again, not once in your life to preach. I remember that night trembling, as I seldom have trembled at anything in life. I sooked like a leaf in fear. I had never been so presumptuous to think I could preach. I had never thought in my life, because I would never have been so presumptuous to think I could preach to others. I had the right to preach. That was too much for me to ever entertain such a thought. But that night, and from that night, nothing else but that mattered. I stood in that meeting, trembling, saying to God of every faculty of my being, as weak as I was, take my life, have it for thyself, take my life and let it be consecrated, separated, for thee, till I die. I remember all the things I thought of doing to prepare to be used by God. God just cancelled them out and swiftly said no. You know when God's speaking through people, circumstances, messages and everything, especially that book. And God led me to probably the most despised Bible school you would call it a theological seminar, the same thing in our country. He led me there. It didn't matter to them what your academic qualifications were. You see, the old man said, don't pass and get 100% the true results of what you take into your heart, and live in God's sight, even if you get 40%. If God sees you're the one that passed the exam, not the others, you're the person God needs in his service, not the others who get 100% on paper. Oh, that's a different theological seminar to most for equipping you. And I thank God I went there. I went back home after our first quarter, our first term, and went across the country back to Johannesburg where my parents lived at that stage to be with them for three weeks. Now, suddenly I found in our home a number of preachers, liberal and one or two unsaved. But they were in our home. And as I listened to the conversation, statements were made, one particular undermining this book, challenging the authority and divine inspiration of this book. There was a statement or two made and suddenly I found myself standing up and I was young and I raised my voice and with indignation burning in my heart. I defended God's word. Then I saw my father hang his head down and saying, in our country, at least it used to be so. Young people do not offend older people like that. I stopped and I said, Father, forgive me. And I said to this one preacher particularly, forgive me for offending you. I'm young. I am really sorry that I offended you in our home like this. Please forgive me. This preacher stood up. And he said these words that I shall never forget for eternity. I am not offended. I am not offended. I am staggered. I am stunned. I look at a young man who was so full of complexes, so fearful of man that I used to fear for you. You were so fearful. You withdrew with all your complexes and fears of man. You were so complex, Keith. And I wonder what happened to this boy that suddenly he stands up with this courage, with this boldness, with this fearlessness. How could this have happened so swiftly in this complex, fearful life? And I am staggered, not offended. Tears began to come down his eyes. How could this have happened? You see, when Jesus said these words, he meant it. Come, follow me. I will anoint you. I will equip you. I will make you. It's God's work. In one moment it happens and the world staggers. The powers of hell stagger to become the faces of man. Soul with us. No matter who he calls, Jeremiah, it's the highest possible evidence equal to an oath. You can fulfill that calling or he wouldn't have called you. It's almost an insult to God to doubt. That's why God's anger was kindled against Moses and Ezekiel and Jeremiah in their fear of him calling them to stagger the powers of hell. If I have the call of God upon my life, and once I have the call of God upon my life, nothing that all hell may do and send against me must ever keep me from fulfilling that calling till the day I die. Once I have the call of God upon my life, nothing that all hell could send against me and will send against you must keep me from fulfilling that calling till the day I die. Even if those who love me oppose me, my brother and I, we worked together. There was a few businesses he had. I had a business. They were blossoming. They were thriving businesses for young men to have. And God called us and my brother and I were going to obey God's calling. And so my brother announced to my father and mother he was to sell his businesses immediately and go to theological seminar to become a missionary, a preacher. My father was so shaken for my father was not saved yet, but he stood up in an unsafe state against my brother. Being three years older than me, Dudley did the speaking. We're giving up the businesses. We have nothing in us to continue. They've died to us, daddy. And he said these words to Dudley. I forbid you. I forbid you to sell your businesses. Dudley, Keith, your Bible says obey your father and mother, honor your father and mother. Let me tell you one of the reasons I think God said that because we are there to protect you. We are there to guide you, Dudley. Very few businessmen in this world will ever be so successful as you are. And look how young you are. Isn't that an indication that God is with you? Isn't that an indication, Dudley, that this is God's will, not for you to leave it. That's what God is so prospering. You can send and support preachers in such a way that very few will ever want to. And you'll be able to do it. Why would you be so prospering like this? No, Dudley. I forbid you. I forbid you. And I'm your father. And God says in that book, you obey your father. My brother trembled at my father and said, Daddy, I will obey you in anything you ask of me in life until you ask me to disobey God. My father was so stunned that he fell into a chair. Tears came down his eyes. He had no more words to say. Oh, Daddy was saved soon after that. How could he not get saved with such a brother as mine? And Daddy was our greatest supporter till he died. From the day he was saved till he died, there were times he would weep looking at us in front of people. But crying out to our hearts, don't you ever, ever leave God's service. Don't you ever stop preaching for anything on earth. You know, my daddy's last words to me as he died, he still wept, promise me. I know the Bible does say don't bow. Promise me you will never, ever leave this privilege God has given you of preaching for anything, anything till you die. Oh, a mother and father, when they are saved and rightly related to God, will give their life to keep you from ever giving up once God has called you. They will literally give their lives, I believe, to stop you from ever leaving the noblest calling on earth, the highest calling on earth. God could ever give a man. We have a missionary in our work. Our missionary society is close on 100 years, just on 100 years. It has had many thousands of workers and one across Africa, hundreds of thousands of souls. Mostly our ladies who never, ever gotten the pulpits, but they went from hut to hut and died of diseases, many of them across Africa. But they brought the souls in the hundreds of thousands to God. We have a man in our mission whose name is Davy Groovy, an African speaking man. Davy Groovy was made district superintendent as he rose up in respect of his abilities over large areas of Southern Africa. But all hell rose up against him. All hell rose up to destroy him. That happens when God calls you to preach. Don't doubt this now, when God calls you to preach. We watched Davy Groovy crumble and age and crawl. That happens, Jeremiah. That doesn't mean God didn't call you. Or that you're a failure. Davy Groovy was so crushed that he lay almost like a destroyed human in every aspect and faculty of his being. It was horrific to see how much rose against him from every direction to destroy his life and ministry. And I was in his home, one of our district headquarters, in a large, what you would call state, in Southern Africa. And his mother, his godly mother was in the house. And I looked at this lady and said to her, lady, I fear that your son is giving up. I fear that it has been too much for him and he will not be able to survive this. I fear that he's leaving God's service. He can't go on. And I'm very sorry, lady. Do you know this woman was so stunned at what I said? Tears just flowed from her eyes as she looked at me. And trembling, she walked toward me and said with a loud voice, no! I will lay my body across that door before he does that. My son will have to trample over his mother's body before he leaves God's service. Her son heard her saying those words to me. He was unable to leave God's service because of that mother. He's still serving God today. Always had strokes and problems, all the things that came on him. Yes, but he's still British and still serves God. Oh, once our loved ones are saved, they will die before you leave God's service if they are right with God. For they know it's the greatest honor they have ever been given in life or so. To have someone in their blood serving Christ. As Hannah, who gave that little boy Samuel and never hesitated to give it to God. And all she did was provide for that boy and pray for him and encourage him and leave him for the honor of serving God from a child. No wonder the whole of Israel knew God was with him. With such a mother, giving him such an early training to serve Christ. God with all his heart, soul and might. He had a million mile start on others. And that mother gave that right to him. Once the calling of God has come upon my life. Nothing that all hell may send against me must keep me from fulfilling that calling to the day I die. Even if people cannot comprehend and openly despise me for forsaking all to fulfill this calling. I was once in a vehicle and there were many people in that large vehicle. And one lady turned to me and said with a loud voice, angrily, I thank God I'm not your wife. I thank God I'm not Jenny. I would rather die than to have sacrificed my life as she has sacrificed her life for you. To be left alone to raise the children so much. To be left alone to survive without her husband. To be left alone so that you can get the limelight and preach all over the way you are. To sacrifice what a waste of life that she married you. She had to bury her life. Everyone in that vehicle was stunned and shocked and sorrowful at what she said to me. I put my head down and my heart sunk. And I trembled. But I prayed. Oh God. The difference between Jenny and this woman is that Jenny has a calling from God that this woman has never received. From a little girl of 14 she stood in a meeting and meant it with all her heart. As the appeal was there to give your life to God's service. If it's God speaking to your heart. She meant it as she stood and gave God her life. And one thing burned in her heart from that day till she stood as a missionary in full time service years later. She meant it. The one thing God. The one difference between this woman and my wife is that this woman has never had a calling from God. My wife has. When God calls you lady. When God calls you young girl. When God calls you. Every single value in life changes. That moment. Every direction changes. If you've been called by God. Every priority. Every value is gone. Change. Things you have never thought or considered in your life. Of giving your life for. Suddenly you embrace. And you're willing to die for. With joy. In one moment. Every single value and priority and direction has changed forever in your life. Once you have the call of God. What the unsaved. And the shallow superficial Christian. Would look upon as a wasted life. As a sacrifice. You. Will only think. Of this. It is privilege. The word sacrifice is not in the vocabulary of someone who is called by God. It leaves the dictionary. It leaves the cook. Cabulary in your life. It cannot come near you. Every single thing is called. And looked upon in your innermost being as privilege. That others will look upon as sacrifice. Great sacrifice. And worthless waste. Even if. People cannot comprehend. And openly despise me for. Forsaking all and fulfilling God's calling. If I have been truly called by God. And I remain rightly related to him. Beloved that word sacrifice. Will never ever. Come from my lips. With regard to anything God has asked for me. I will only think. Privilege. That he called me. Even to this. To face this. We will not hesitate. We will not hesitate to give our lives. For the souls that God has sent us to reach. We will not hesitate. To give our lives. For the souls God has sent us to reach. Mr. Will Macfarlane. Was the godliest man I ever met in my life. Oh. That you could just have him in this pulpit for 30 minutes. You would never recover. To the day you die. A man said to me. A few minutes. In that man's company. Your conscience will never allow you to be the same. To recover. Men just looking at him fell down. Crying out to God for mercy. And for salvation. Just looking at his godliness. One of our old missionaries in Africa told me. Minutes in his company and now he's on my face. Publicly sobbing for God to have mercy. Oh he was godly. Oh he was godly. Mr. Macfarlane went to different countries. He didn't just stay in our mission. Though he was the second male worker. In our missionary society. Many, many years ago. Close to 100 years ago now. Mr. Macfarlane went to Canada. For a number of years. Served God there. In our mission. In Canada. One day. He and his wife. And the workers allocated to them. Were in Vancouver. On the beach. They had made a stand. On the beach. To have an open air meeting. With a loud speaking system. And they were calling out. To the sinners. Strewn across the beaches. To turn. From hell to heaven. Mrs. Macfarlane. The godly. Godly. Mrs. Will Macfarlane's wife was so godly. So Christ like. Though she was so frail. She had courage like few I've ever known on earth. She would stand at that door. And when preachers walked out. She would say. You failed God. And their blood is on your hands. She was fearless. For God. Though she was frail. And she never let a man fail. Without walking to his face. And telling him. If he left that pulpit. Having wasted his opportunity. Their blood is on your hands. What will you say to God. When you face him. She stood. At that open air meeting. In Vancouver. On the beach. She took the microphone. And she only quoted scriptures. But all of the judgments of God. On those who will not repent. She quoted the words of God's coming judgments. Of those who continue in sin. Though Christ died for them. Rejecting Christ. Just quoting the words of God. With such earnestness. And compassion. Those were the hippie days. Those hippies. And many became angered. There was a group. That in their enragement against this woman. Quoting God's words. There's nothing more sharper than God's word. It's like a sharp two-edged sword. Piercing. Oh, it reaches where no man. Can undo. It undoes men. All their arguments. Don't give them arguments about evolution. Don't give them arguments about creation. Just quote the book. It undoes them. Everything the devil has built up around their minds. Is undone. By the word. For God's sake. Don't bury that for all your arguments. On science's level. I don't despise you for that. I respect you. Dear brothers. But the centrality of God's working. Is through the word. To undo the sinner's minds. No matter what he is and how hard he is. No matter what arguments or academic achievements he has. In moments the word. Cuts through. And pierces. Till they agonize. In fear. And every argument is gone when they deal with God's word. Don't bury it. For anything. To reach them. As she. Quoted. These enraged sinners. Came up on the platform and beat her. With their hands. She fell. They kicked her. In her face. They kicked and beat her. What does the godly will not fall and do? He falls. Over her. And cries. Beat me. Kick me. Do what you will. But to me. Not to her. Please. Beat me. But not her. That's staggering. No. That's nothing. There's the staggering part. One week later. She hobbled back. Onto that beach. Hurt. Wounded. She took the microphone. No anger. No bitterness. The love of God burning in her heart. And cried out the same verses to the same people. Of whom many was there back. On that day. That's the staggering part. Beloved. When you're called by God. We will not hesitate to give our lives for the souls. God has sent us to reach. We don't become embittered. Jeremiah. We don't become. Full of self-pity. Jeremiah. We don't become angry. Jeremiah. We will give our lives. For the souls. God has sent us to reach. If we've truly been called by God. And stays rightly related to God. William Booth. The great General William Booth. Founder of the Subbasin Army. Marched. Into what is known as no man's land. In Europe. Where police would not venture. It was so dangerous. They wouldn't come out alive. He marched. He shook the powers of hell. This man crying out to the. Then known. Evangelical church. You have become useless to God. You sit in the ease. Of the churches. Too good for God to use. While sinners. Go to hell. Who are not good enough. For you to feel comfortable enough. To have in your churches. God cannot use you. We go to the streets. He marched down the streets. And he formed an army. Of prostitutes. Of murderers. Of drunks. And when they were saved. As he reached them. With God. And his gospel. And love. He clothed them in a uniform. Like an army. And he gave them a weapon. The only weapon. God wanted them to ever carry. Bible. And they marched. For God. Down those streets. Singing. Onward. Christian. Soldiers. Marching. As to war. With the cross. Of Jesus. Gone before. Booth. Marched. Those near 50. To the housing. Of the Mafia. King of Europe. The most feared man. Of Europe. To get there. Numbers of those people were killed. To stop them. Of enraged evil thugs. And criminals. Who beat them with steel bars. Smashing their heads open. Booth marched on. As they poured coals. Whole barrages of coals. Upon these dead bodies. Or dying bodies. That the stents of human flesh. Booth marched on. Till he got to this. Housing. Of the Mafias. Leaders. In Europe. Booth needed no microphone. His voice pierced. As the prostitutes lay. With men defiling their bodies. And shaming. Their children. And their wives. Were being dishonored. They crawled out of those buildings. On their knees. Of the prostitutes. Giving their life to Christ. Because that voice went through every room. And all Booth did. Did you know? Was quote scriptures. Those scriptures. With this piercing voice. Brought thousands to God. From the most filthy. Defiling places. Till the powers of hell were trembling. And the churches were trembling. And shamed. And no one else was doing this. In love with souls. Souls that Christ died for. Because they were too good. For God to use. Booth stood outside of this house. And cried with this voice. Quoting the damnation of God. The judgment of God. Unless a man repents and comes to Christ. They stormed out of that building. The Mafia head. Spat in his face. And spat again. And the others began spitting all over. Booth's body and face and beard. And he cursed God. And he cursed Booth. And he cursed the whole group. With blasphemous cursing. And anger. And suddenly. The man standing behind Booth. In the army uniform with a Bible. Began to weep and howl. In fear. Facing death. In his eyes about the blood. Of soldiers. Of God. And Booth. Going like a stream. To where Booth stood. And surrounding his boots. As he stood there. And this man began to howl. Booth turned to look at him. He was wiping the spittle off his face also. And Booth said. No. Brother. Grabs his hand. Don't wipe them off. These are medals. For a true soldier of God. Don't wipe them off brother. Tears pouring down his face. But always love in his eyes. Always love. His harshest word. Throbbing with God's love. Or you sin preacher. If it isn't. If your harshest word. Does not throb with God's love. That the worst sinner. Is conscious though you condemn him. By God's word. No man has ever loved their soul. Or them in their lives like this. Because of your sinning. Being a preacher. It is not spiritual to offend. It's impossible. But the offense will come. But oh. You are buried by God himself. If you go out to offend without love. Driving you. Without the love of Christ. Driving you. No other reason. Driven. Because Christ is in you. Driving you. From us. To the many died for. When Booth said those words. This thug. The most feared man in Europe. Began to weep. Booth said. I hate. Your evil. I hate your sin. God hates your evil. God hates your sin. But I love your soul. God loves your soul. I don't want you to face judgment. For eternity. I want you to have total forgiveness. No matter what evils you have done. I long for you to find. The forgiveness that is in Christ. For while we were yet sinners died. Knowing your sins. Tasted death. For every man. God says. I want you to come to Christ. To pray for forgiveness. And find eternal salvation. This man crumbled. And fell on his knees. Booth knelt beside him. And led him to Jesus Christ. And eternal life. There is no evil. That will not be conquered. By God's love. If it can be through you. Before you die preacher. Not just God's words. But God's love. All the others. The mafia leaders. Looking at this man that they lived in fear of their lives. For fell down on their knees. Trembling. And gave their lives to Christ. They were. Apart from two. Hung. For their crimes. Booth stood with each one. As they died. And Booth said. Of those men. They were. In the army. Of God. The salvation army. In prison uniform. Before they died. They won the warders. The police. The criminals in that prison. Seeking God through them. Before they died. They were so relaxed. Like you and I. Washed in the blood of Christ. And though they face the consequences of their sin by man. Not forgiving them. Of their crimes. They face no judgment for eternity. Of God. Who died for them. As he died for the murderer. On the cross beside him. And assured him of eternal life as he died. For putting his faith in Jesus. So any murder will be forgiven. In eternity. With such love. We will be willing to die. For the souls. God has sent us to reach. That is privilege. Sir. That no one else will ever do. He never knew a calling from God. I was stabbed once. And as the blades went in my body. And in my back. And the blood just covered me. I thought I was to die. I just ruthlessly. Put the blades through. I felt no pain. Just a numbness. But two things staggered me. That I shall never ever forget. Firstly. The peace that flooded my heart. The peace of God that passes all understanding. That I began to worship. As I thought I faced death. That there was no fear of death. No matter how you have to die. Oh it stunned me. It staggered me. It changed my preaching. When God didn't let me die. That others could know this when they die. No matter how you have to die. Oh. But there was something else that staggered me. I had no anger. No bitterness. Only love. As I thought I was dying. Do you know what I thought? These are the last two. I will ever be privileged. And I'm not going to waste this moment. And I poured out the love of God for my souls to them. Till they knelt and sobbed uncontrollably. When we have the call of God upon our lives. We will give our lives. For the souls. God has sent us. To reach. Like Booth. We will die. To bring the soul. That is about to die. But his soul must be reached. If I have the call of God. If I have the call of God. When God calls us to preach. If we are rightly related to God. We must place ourselves on the front line of the battle. I'm not talking about go and be stupid now. Don't do that. But. The Bible speaks of men who have hazarded their lives for the gospel sake. I want you to seriously consider that. Men who have hazarded their lives. For the gospel sake. It also speaks of what will be said of most preachers. By God and man at the end of their ministries and lives. Ye. Were not valiant for the truth. Tell me preacher when did you ever. Allow God to put you in the front line of the battle where you were in any way. In a position where you could have been. Persecuted. Hurt. Rejected. Suffer. Rejection or persecution. And you didn't back down. You were not valiant for the truth. You were not as those men who hazarded their lives for the gospel sake. You never were willing to put yourself in any position on the front line of God's battle in this earth. Where you couldn't even be or suffer embarrassment. Let alone right. It meant so little to you. And even if all hell comes against you from within the ranks of your own church. And today it will. If you're faithful. Don't doubt this preacher. Even if all hell comes against you. From with the ranks of your own church. Don't compromise. On the message God has put into your hands. Don't divert. Don't divert. From what God has said in this book. And called you to preach. Even if they put you in jail in Canada now. For quoting Romans 1. As hate speech. Go to jail. But don't give up preaching what God has called us to preach. Don't go out deliberately looking for trouble where you don't need to. Just to put yourself in prison. That is total folly. But don't throw off the cargo. Do you remember how. Jonah. Wrote all that fear on those men and they threw off everything that they were. Commissioned to take across the oceans. The purpose they were traveling was not just those passengers. The cargoes they had were thrown off. In fear that the boat would sink. Like Paul with those men. Who when the ship was wrecked. They threw off everything to try and lighten it. So we don't sink. Oh. When the mega churches. The charismatic prosperity. The charismatic personalities who divert from the truth. For entertainment. And money. And crowds. When they rose up overnight in our generation and drew away the crowds. Replacing the central. Means. Of bringing souls to Christ by the preaching of the word. The uncompromising. Word of God. They replaced it with worldly entertainers. They brought the world's music in. Of course it grew overnight. The world wants. That in religion. But don't preach the Bible to them. Not the context that will make them truly fear. If they're still in sin. You lose 90% of them overnight. You mega preachers. Try it. Before you accuse me. I dare you to just read Romans 1. Without apologizing. Or explaining in a way. Once. To see what's left in your church. Tragically. As these movements have blossomed overnight. But. The conservative movements. Feared. As they lost their youth firstly. Brother you didn't lose your youth. You lost the unsaved. If they went to the world. In the church. They are the world. You can't win the world by being like the world. Leland Ravenhill said. They'll win you. Nothing else will happen. Don't try it. Oh these conservative movements panicked. Fearfully conceding. Crying throw off. All the old heavy cargo. So that we don't sink into oblivion. So what did they throw out? Firstly the godly sacred hymns of our faith. That have never offended through the hundreds of years. We have sung them that are reverential. The reverential fear of God. And once that goes. The sharp edge of the sword cannot be preached. In an atmosphere that's like a disco. Or a rave concert. That God saved me out of. Let alone walk in and say. But this is where. What I was saved from. Oh they throw out the godly sacred hymns. And they replace and open their platforms to entertainers. Not to singers preachers. They should be in Hollywood. No as. Sir. If you wait for applause. That's all you want. You angry sir? If you are it's because. Nothing else. They replace their platforms. With entertainers that look like the world. That sway their bodies like the world. And the more like the world. No matter how disgusting or low. These demonically looking. Singers and entertainers look. They welcome in the platform. So long as they get the crowd. These men. And women who stand there waiting for applause. Otherwise they wouldn't be there. They get it from the world in the church. When the world is comfortable in the church. It's because the church is becoming comfortable in the world. When the church is right with God. No sinner will enjoy being in your church. They will tremble. They will fear. They will agonize. Until they get right with God. They won't be walking and singing and leaping and praising God. And you're scared to say thou said not. Don't do that. We want attendance us. To throw out the old cargo. It's sinking us. We've got to keep the youth. We've got to stop a new tribe preaching. Hell after that music. Who in their right mind will listen. In an unsanctified godless atmosphere. You lose your sensibilities preacher. If you think God's a net. You totally lost your sensibilities. Let alone your answer. Or calling. Yeah. That's enough of that. Once God calls us. We are not called. Only to preach. Be careful. If God's called you it's not. To only preach. It is to endure hardness. As soldiers. We are called. To endure hardships. Hardness. For out of hardships. Is born greatness. In Christianity. Outside of that there will never be greatness upon you. Ever considered. Fame. Greatness. Never. Hardships. Lift us. Out of shallowness. Superficiality. Sam. May refine us. God says. The trials of your faith. There's no substitute. Till there's nothing left of you brother. And men only see Christ. Let me tell you something. That's worth it. A billion times over. And to remain with. Shallow. Superficial. Self-centeredness. And weakness. Spurgeon. The prince of all preachers. They say he said. If it wasn't. For the trials. I have faced. If it was not for the tragedies. God allowed to come on my life. If it was not for the persecutions. And the undermining. Some all the most unexpected sources. Or else. The rejection. Being buried. And my ministry. By those whom you would never believe. If it was not for the rejections. The undermining. The persecutions. The suffering. I. Would. Have been poor. In the pulpit of God. I would have been poverty stricken as a preacher. And preachers. Don't ever fear. That God. Will forsake you. In your darkest moment. God is doing his greatest work. In your life. Or he would not. As a sovereign God be allowing it. The darkest moment. You will ever. Be allowed to face in your life. If you have been called by God. God is doing his greatest work. Mr. Gothard. Just wait to see the fruit one day. Christ like you were. In the example you gave. To all of us. If we face. Crucifixion. From the evangelical. Liberals. Who hate a standard. In this day and age. God has not forsaken you. If you grow weary. Fulfilling this blueprint. That God had in his heart before your. Birth. Don't tell me. That you. Can't destroy that blueprint. Jeremiah. Paul. I was not disobedient. To the heavenly vision. Paul said of his calling. He could have been. If you fail. To warn. The wicked. From the error of his way. Those I want you and intend you to. The wicked will die in his iniquity. But thou. His blood will have acquired your hand. Don't tell me all these things were there. I'm a God who got confused about sovereignty. Be careful. About what you say. Is the blueprint of God. Must happen. Be careful. If you grow weary. Fulfilling the blueprint. Of God for your life and ministry. Don't you ever give up. Our Samuel. My youngest child. My biggest child. Terrible when they look down at you. Our Samuel. When he was small. We would. Go to the forests. Around the most beautiful city in the entire world. There's no doubt of that. Cape Town. South Africa. Mountains that are unbelievable. In their splendor. Around which a birth city is built. An entire city. Around the point of Africa. With a beauty. Oh. It just goes on and on. The mountains. And the sky. And the blueness of the sea. That nowhere on earth is there such colors. In the seas. We walk up the mountains when they're small. And I used to teach them. What I had as a boy. How to throw a rock. Or sling you know. Like David. He proved this. Don't lose what you haven't proven. Preacher. Stick to it if it works. Die preaching it. Oh. I would take the rocks you know. And say watch. We don't go to the stupid moors. We go to the. Forests. The mountains. And we take the rock. There. See that tree boys. Now you try. Daddy was the best when he was a boy. I'm not proud. Trust me. Not of rock throwing. Oh. Bam. That tree dead. Come. Come boy. Oh. We loved it. So we went for our walks you know. Through the trails. In the forest. Up the mountains. But Samuel was. The smallest. Quite a gap you know. From his two brothers. And he used to grow weary. Couldn't keep up with us. But he was a remarkable child. He would never ever say daddy. I can't go on. Wait for me. Come up. No. Not Samuel. We would suddenly realize. Where's Samuel? And we look back. And he always just stopped. When he couldn't go on. He stopped. And he just waited there. Will they ever look back? We would look back. There's Samuel. Oh. He just stopped waiting. Trusting. Knowing. And oh. We would run back. Oh. Daddy and Roy. And Noel and mommy. To see who would be the first. To have the joy. Of lifting him up on our shoulders. And he knew we would. And he just waited. Without asking. Preacher. Don't ever entertain the thought. That God won't come swiftly. When you're weary. And put you on his shoulders. And carry you. And all hell. Will not destroy you. No matter how hard they try. The only thing is. Don't ever give up. Don't ever give up. I will place no value. On anything I have. Or may possess. Except. In relation to the kingdom of Christ. I will place. No value. On anything. I have or may possess. Except in relation. To the kingdom of Christ. David Livingston. What others value. Is worthless now to me. David Livingston. Wrote this. Unknown hymn. To most. Oh Lord. Since thou. Has died. To give thyself. For me. No sacrifice. Could be too great. For me to. Be. Lord. Send me. Anywhere. Only. Go with me. Lay. Any. Burden on me. Only. Sustain me. Sever. Any tie. Save the tie. That binds me to. Thy heart. Lord. Jesus. My king. I consecrate. My life. Lord. To. The. I only. Have one life. And that. Will soon. Be past. I want my life. To count. For Christ. What's done. For him. Will. Lord. Send me. Anywhere. Only. Go with me. Lay. Any. Burden on me. Only. Sustain me. Sever. Any tie. Save the tie. That binds me. To. Thy heart. Lord. Jesus. My king. I consecrate. My life. Lord. To. The. I follow. The. My lord. And glory. In. Thy cross. I gladly. Leave the world. Behind. And count. It's all game. As loss. Oh lord. Send me. Anywhere. Only. Go with me. Lay. Any. Burden on me. Only. Sustain me. And sever. Any tie. Save the tie. That binds me. To. Thy heart. Lord. Jesus. My king. I consecrate. My life. Lord. To. The. I stood up. Forty five years ago. Three months saved and said. So God was my soul. When he burned in my heart. He wanted me to bury my dreams. And God saw me. And the wall. Hell has tried. And will continue to try. I have no doubt. God kept me. He equipped me. Though I was the most complex fearful soul on earth. I believe. Anointed. And made me. To become. I want to ask you tonight young people. Young men. Young women. For women were the greatest soul winners. Across Africa. The men. Didn't want those diseases. And out of the limelight. And no pension. For souls. So God sent women. You see he cursed a nation. That had a woman as a leader. Then he chose Deborah to lead his people. When there was no man. You want to condemn the woman who go. Why don't you go. Before you do that. I want to ask every one of you. Men and women. Young people. Young fourteen year old girls. Like Jenny was. She went it. And God saw it. And God took her to her word. She never had another thing burning in her life. Until she stood as a missionary. Reaching souls. I want to ask every one of you. That in your hearts is burning God's voice. When no more human's voice. Can work. And you know. And you know. If you're saved. When it's God's voice. You see you can't switch off to it. I want to ask every single one of you. That sense. The voice of God. Reaching through this base. We despise that man. Yes. But that's who God chooses. The base things of the world. The weak things of the world. The things that are despised. That no flesh can glory in his presence. You see. So that's the first qualification. In case you worried. Jeremiah. That I've made a mistake. No. I want to ask every one of you. That sense you have to do with God here tonight. And say God take my life. I might be a girl. But in moments I'm grown up. But now I make my decision forever. Take my life. I might have dreams. Ambitions of education. Even if my parents oppose me. In their unsaved state. With no values. Even if others despise me. What I'm doing. You know I leave my wife and children. Oh God. Don't stop. To be a king. If God calls you to preach. William Carey said. I want anyone in this building. Young and old. Who would say to God from their hearts. That they sense it's the Holy Spirit. Working in your heart here in this meeting. That God wants you to say. Here take my life. What's left of it. Have it Lord for thyself. Let it be consecrated tonight. Separate. Forever. Of my free will. Saying yes. Anyone and everyone that God. Is speaking to. And you would say to God. Here am I. Send me. Send me. I want those. Who would say this to God. Here am I. Send me. Send me. Help me. I want all who say that to God. To stand right now please. Be careful. I would be stunned. If everyone of you standing. Will not be in God's service soon. That's your answer. Be careful. He may never ever call you again. If your values are so opposed to his. Come stand in the front those of you. That no matter what it costs. If God has in this. You will go. We make something sacred here. Before we walk away from this message. There's no altar to kneel. So don't worry. It's not the bowed body. That God looks at. It's the heart. The bowed spirit. And if you pray from your heart. Though God. Does not look at the words. That proceed out of the mouth. He looks at the heart. From whence they come. If you pray this from your heart. Don't doubt this God will answer this. If this is God. Can you pray with me. Every one of you standing. And all sitting. That God has not called. Or you have obeyed God. And are in God's service. You please pray. That God now. Will stagger the powers of hell. From the next step they take. Till the day they die. After this. If it's God. Truly God speaking to them. But those standing. Please pray with me. Oh God. Take my life. And let it be. Consecrated. Lord to thee. Have what's left of my life. But don't let me. Thwart. Or destroy. Thy blueprint. For my life. Give me grace. To fulfill this calling. Confirm. In thine own way. That this is God. Calling me. I will not rush. That would be folly. But it would be greater folly. Jonah. Do not go. If God has called you. And if thou does confirm. Till I know that I know. And there is no doubt. For if there's any doubt. I dare not go. I must stay and serve thee. Where I am. But if all doubt goes. Give me the grace. To go on that journey. And never to divert. Or to retreat. No matter what Satan. And evil people. And unsaved people. Even my loved ones. Will do to stop me. Till the day I die. I long to be used of God. And to bring souls to Christ. And to let my life be poured out. Anointed. And equipped by God. To stagger the powers of hell. Every step I take. By the time I die. In Jesus Christ's name. For his sake. And his glory alone. Amen. Can we all stand please. God bless everyone in this meeting. That even those. Who did not. Respond. Will give their children. And die before their children leave. God's service. Will pray for those who go. And give everything they can. With joy. To keep those who went. On the front line of the battle. Change all of our values. Here tonight. And our understanding. Of the call of God. For Christ's sake. And in his name. Amen. It's nine o'clock. We started at seven. That's a two hour meeting. My word. You know what I did last year. Something on the spur of the moment. I called some young men. They've doubled in. Their size. In this meeting tonight. Young men I met at the. Annual convention of the street workers. Down in Dallas. Convention. With street workers last year. Where I preached. They were so bold. And so full of the scriptures. And so courageous. And so ablaze. That I. Was undone. Looking at them. But I took courage. With them. Knowing that God. Knows when to call. How to call. And how to equip. Right to the end. So I asked some of them to come and preach. I limited them to one minute. Some of them don't know what a minute means. But we forgave them. But be careful. Don't give them 40 minutes. Which will kill you. When 10 minutes. Or five minutes. Or three minutes. Would have stunned you. That you never forget. Discipline them from the day. You meet them. Influence from the day. You come near them. Because you may not be near them again. To influence them. Be direct. Be. Ruthless. But not cruel. That they know. You love them. And saying. No. No. Not that. That will bury you. But don't keep quiet. You destroy them. You dishonor them. You disgrace them. In coming near them. If you know. You need to tell them. No. Because they'll bury themselves alive. If you don't. So we're all tired. But that doesn't matter. So. What are we going to do? We're not going to spend hours. But we are going to ask just three of them. Of the. I think seven that have arrived. Eight. Nine. You must be born again.org. I said.com. And people are still trying to find that. Whatever the difference is. This old man doesn't know. But you want to get shocked. Go onto their website. And see what they stand up for Christ. And the fairies. While people want to hit them. And beat them. And they carry on preaching. Hallelujah. But. They preach the word. That's why I love them. They know the word. And they're courageous. And they in the school of God. Know already what it is. To be thrown into the dust. Otherwise I doubt. They're in the school of God at all. So they're well on the way. For God forming them. To stagger the powers of hell. Once that starts happening. But now we have. Three that I'd like to ask. To come up here. And give them the most restricted time. They will ever be given in life. My son. A blaze for Christ. Had an hour. Actually. Less today. And tomorrow you'll have less than that. I won't call him. Because he has opportunities. And the sermons have influenced. Multitudes across the world already. But I honor him. But I also honor anyone. I come here on this earth. I feel responsible for them. When I realize God's called them. And God has set them ablaze. And sometimes they totally alone. Rejected by the liberals. And hated. For preaching uncompromising truth. Fearlessly. So. Ryan. Jake. And who's your friend? Sean. Your name's Sean? Good. I just wanted to be sure you remembered. Come. The three. The others. You testified this morning. Good. You had your opportunity. You're ablaze for Christ. Boy. And you're going to get your opportunities. Come. Sit. And we're going to give them each one minute. And then we're going. But let's listen. To those. I sense. I've been called by God. And equipped. And anointed. As young as they are. No theological seminar. I want to let you come up. I long to let you all come up. This boy's so ablaze for God. He's just. Frightening. You get scared. He comes up to you. And he says things that you just. But it comes from his soul. He'll turn the world upside down. But he's come to join them. You see. These you must be born again men. Dot org men. Sorry. They came all the way to Africa. And he came to our convention. And he shook our mission. They just laughed him. Just after I left. He came to the next convention. When I arrived home. We bless God for that. Soon I come to get married. And to a very beautiful girl. And soon. He's also in love. And we'll get married to an incredibly. Gifted and Godly girl. I expected God to give something to you like that. And this brother I've heard of. And I've never heard preached. So now you're one minute. Don't tell anyone can extend to two minutes. There's a man. That had one two minutes. To say something burning in his heart. To the church of Jesus Christ. Trust me it's not just this. You see that little camera. I'd be stunned if a few hundred thousand people. Haven't heard this. In the next year. And they won't forget you boy. I've been given this. But God shook the powers of hell. When I took hold of it. You say what's in your heart. There's a loudspeaker. That means you can't move. I don't know that I move you know. My wife tells me I bang on the pulpit. I say I don't. Don't you bang on the pulpit now. But here. Have a ten second prayer. And then. Preach for us for two minutes. Watch on your heart to the world. For two minutes though. Others because of that two minutes. Might give you hundreds of pulpits in the next year. Father in heaven. Come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I pray that you would wash our eyes. With eyesight. That we might see. That you would. Cause our hearts to burn within us. And to know the calling. The vocation of a Christian. Pray in Jesus Christ holy name. Amen. Burden on my heart. Is in second Corinthians chapter five. It says if any man. Be in Christ. He is a new creature. Old things are passed away. Behold. All things are become new. It says there. If any man be in Christ. He is a new creature. It says in Ephesians. That we are created in Christ. Jesus unto good works. The good works. That God has preordained. That we might walk in them. Ephesians five. It says for you were sometimes darkness. But now. Are you light. In the Lord. Walk. As children of light. For the fruit of the spirit. Is in all goodness. Righteousness. In truth. Proving what is acceptable. Unto the Lord. And have no fellowship. With the unfruitful works of darkness. But rather. Reprove them. God says in Ephesians chapter five. A command. To the church of Christ. To be a light. After the image of Christ. Of whom we behold. Darkly in a glass. Were transformed. Into his image. We are called. To be that light. And that light. According to Ephesians five. Interpreted correctly. Reproves. The unfruitful works of darkness. Not just by action. Not just by a smile. But by the mouth. And that is. Redeeming the time. Because the days are evil. We must use our mouths. Church of Christ. For this is the condemnation. In Christ. This is his image. The light. Has come into the world. And men. Love darkness. Rather than light. Because their deeds were evil. For everyone. That do with evil. Hated the light. Neither. Cometh the light. Lest his deeds. Should be. Reproved. Wherefore. Oh. Saints. Be conformed. To the image of Christ. That we may say. Truly. That we are. Thy sheep. Led. To the slaughter. To the slaughter. And for. Thy sake. We are. Killed. All. The day. Long. That's Romans. Eight. Please have mercy. Lord. Please give me. Grace to speak. For a moment. Lord. Bless these people. Lord. Jesus. Mighty name. Amen. Are you doing. The will of God. With your life. That's. The question. You have heard. The scripture. We've quoted it. Multiple times. People up here have. Not everyone. That saith unto me. Lord. Lord. Shall enter. The kingdom. Of heaven. But he that doeth. The will. Of my father. Which is in heaven. Is it an option. Is it a suggestion. To the will. Of God. The will. Of Jesus Christ. Who's a person. Who's on a throne. Who's alive. Who rules. In his kingdom. And if you. Are saved. You hear his voice. My sheep. Know me. And they hear. My voice. And they follow me. And I give unto them. Eternal life. And they'll never. Perish. Usually any man. Plucked out. Of my hands. The world. Passes away. In the fullness. Thereof. But he that doeth. The will. Of God. Abided forever. First and foremost. Believe on the Lord. Jesus Christ. Unto the end. And follow him. The steps. Of a good man. Are ordered. By the Lord. And he delighteth. In his way. Though he fall. He should not be utterly. Cast down. For the Lord. Upholdeth. Steps. I believe. Everyone. In this room. Has a course. If you've been. Saved. A will. A personal. Present. Tense. Real. Will. And if you seek him. With all of your heart. You'll find him. He'll show you. If you're. Saved. You can hear his voice. He speaks to you. He's not. You're not. Deaf anymore. You've been. Saved. Though he were a son. Yet learned. He obedience. By the things. Which he suffered. And being made. Perfect. He became. The author. Of eternal. Salvation. All those that. Obey him. Are you following. Jesus Christ. Can you say. With David. This was. His confidence. One thing. Have I desired. Of the Lord. That will. I seek after. That it may dwell. In the house. Of the Lord. All the days. Of my life. To behold. His beauty. And to inquire. In his temple. When thou said. Seek ye. My face. My heart. Said unto thee. Thy face. Lord. Will I seek. Seek the Lord. Seek him early. Do his will. For ye. Are his workmanship. Created in Christ. Jesus. Unto good works. Personal. Good works. Which he hath before. Ordained. That you should walk in him. But first and foremost. Submit. Yourselves. To Jesus Christ. Resist the devil. And he will flee. May the Lord. Bless y'all. Father. Give eyes. To see. And ears. To hear. Hearts. To understand. Even in. This short time. Lord. That you've given. Bless your people. Lord. In Jesus. Christ. Name. Amen. Paul said. That Timothy. It's a. Faithful saying. And worthy. Of all. Acceptation. Jesus. Christ. Came into this world. To save. Sinners. Of whom. Paul said. I am. The chief. Jesus. Christ. Said. That I came. Into this world. To seek. And to save. That which was lost. The whole need. Not a physician. But the sick. And I wonder. Tonight. If God. Were to come in. To our. Presence. We were to stand. Before God. I. Know. Each. One. Of us. Would see. Ourselves. As. We truly. Are. In God's. Light. And the most. Holy. Of us. The most. Righteous. Here. Would like. Isaiah. Cry out. Woe. Is. Me. I am. Undone. And if. The righteous. Be. Scarcely. Saved. Or. Shall. The sinner. And the ungodly. Appear. What about those. Who aren't even on the same plane. As Isaiah. In regards. To holiness. And righteousness. What will you say. When you stand. Before God. And what I would exhort. Us all to. Is to put. Ourselves. In the light. Of God. By going. To the scriptures. To judge. Ourselves. In the true. Light. Of God's. Word. If. We. Would judge. Ourselves. We. Ourselves. Would not be. Judged. But. How many. Of us. Are rightly. Judging. Ourselves. According. To this. Word. Have. You. Ever. Been. Broken. Before. The scriptures. Before. The God. Of this. Bible. Have. You. Ever. Trembled. Before. Him. As. Sinner. Because. He's. Come. To. Save. Sinners. But. Do. You. Know. That. You. Are. A. Sinner. Have. You. Ever. Bewailed. Your. Sin. In. Your. Filthiness. In. Eyes. Of. God. If. You. Haven't. I. Don't. Know. How. You. Could. Be. Saved. Pharisees. Hypocrites. How. Can. You. Escape. The. Damnation. Of. Hell. If. You. Refuse. To. Hold. Yourself. In. The. Light. Of. God's. Holy. Word. Pray. That. God. Would. Use. These. Words. To. Speak. To. Your. Hearts. Our. Brother. Don. Is. Over. Seeing. This. Whole. Thing. For. Which. We. Bless. God. I. Hope. You. Will. Forgive. Me. If. Tonight. I. Call. On. A. Young. Man. Come. He's. Joined. Them. He. Said. Get. The. Internet. And. He. Must. Be. Born. Again. Dot. Com. So. He. Battled. To. Find. Them. Until. He. Found. Org. And. Then. He. Went. Immediately. And. He. Joined. Them. And. Their. Fire. Has. Kept. Him. Going. And. Built. Him. Up. And. We're. Expecting. Him. To. Turn. The. World. Upside. To. Down. To. But. I. Didn't. Know. Boy. Here. Gave. A. Testimony. That. I. Wasn't. In. But. I. Heard. Over. In. The. Park. And. Was. Deeply. Blessed. And. My. Wife. And. My. And. My. And. You. Pray. For. Them. That. They. Don't. Fail. Now. Not. In. This. Generation. So. My. Boy. Is. Very. Loved. By. This. Big. Group. With. A. Lot. Of. Friends. now. Will you pray? Brother, don't preach to us in your prayers. I used to when I was first saved, until somebody said, don't preach. Wait until you're asked to preach. When you're asked to pray, just pray. Now, this is just warning, but I do it to everybody, okay? Now, you stand there, pray for us, and please, not longer than one minute, even though I preach nearly two hours now. Please, can we all stand? And please, can everyone in this building say amen? Do it! You see, when we say amen, if two or three of you agree, that's why we say amen. No other reason, touching anything that's the will of my Father in heaven, in my name, it shall be done! Or God lies. So please agree. Will you pray concerning this meeting, this message? And the young of this world, including yourself, who must take over now, come all of us, please bow your heads and please pray loud, my boy. Oh Lord, our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Let me not forget that thou art seated high upon the throne, ruling the universe. Come, Lord, in your mercy, and take control of our lives. Let us hold nothing back from surrender to you. Take your word, oh Lord, and burn it upon our hearts, what sorry creatures we are without the word of Christ dwelling in us richly. Oh help us, and teach us out of your book. Let us serve you, walking in the spirit every day of our lives, oh Lord, in your mercy. Thank you for bringing us together here. For your word that was praiseable, I pray all of us in Jesus' holy and precious name. Amen. God bless you.
