This sermon was uploaded by Grace Community Church in San Antonio, Texas. And our website is www.gccsatx.com Or you can find us on Sermon Audio by going to www.sermonaudio.com.gcc Good evening, my name is Pablo Usher and I'm not from here, but I saw this Peruvian preaching about Christ. So I also want to preach, I want to say something about Jesus. I want to share my testimony. 25 years ago, I was studying to become a lawyer at the University of Texas. There at the university, everything was going very well for me. My grades were very, very good. My career was almost perfect. But I was a drunk. A horrible drunk. Why? When I was 17 years old, my dad, who was very rich, my dad and I were working in the field with the horses. Because he had it as a hobby. He raised horses. And we were there working and my dad screamed. And when he screamed, I grabbed my dad and we fell to the ground. And he was dead. At that moment, I realized that no matter if I'm rich, I'm going to die. No matter if I'm intelligent, I'm going to die. No matter if I find the woman of my dreams, I'm going to die. Just like you are going to die. I'm sorry for the bad news, but yes, you are going to die. So I started to think, what does life matter? I went to the university, I was there studying and everything else, but without hope. Without hope. But one day, a man came to my door and started to talk to me about Christ. And I thought, just like you are thinking about me, that he was crazy. Because how crazy that he came to my door to talk to me about Christ in these modern times, not knowing that I was studying at the university. So, he started to talk to me, to my heart. He told me, look boy, how is your life? Are you happy? No. Why? Do you have money? Yes. Do you have a family? Yes. A good education? Yes. Why aren't you happy? Because I'm going to die. Because I'm going to die. So, he started to open the Bible and talk to me about a person. The person of Jesus Christ. Now, let's see something. I want everyone to listen to me. With respect to the person of Jesus Christ, there are three possibilities. Only three. And tonight, you have to decide who Jesus is. The first possibility. The first possibility. Christ was crazy. Because any man who says that he is the Son of God, and he isn't, if he truly believes it, he is crazy, isn't he? He is crazy. If we find a man in the park preaching, saying that he is the Son of God, well, he is crazy. But Jesus said that he was the Son of God. There are three possibilities. One, he is a very sincere man, but he is crazy. Another possibility. Jesus Christ was a liar. He knew that he wasn't the Son of God, and he lied. And he deceived more people than any other false prophet in the history of humanity. So, with the person of Jesus Christ, there are three possibilities. He is crazy. He is a liar. Or he is the Son of God. Probably many of you say, well, I believe that Jesus was a good man, but I don't believe that he was the Son of God. But there is a problem with your logic. If he wasn't the Son of God, he wasn't a good man, because a good man isn't going to lie, and a crazy man isn't a good man. You have to see who Jesus is. Another question. In all the churches, you always hear about the Gospel. The Evangelicals speak of the Gospel. The Catholics speak of the Gospel. You speak of the Gospel. But do you know what it is? Do you have an idea? Everyone is talking about God and Christ, but do you know what the Gospel is? Once you have understood, I will explain tonight. Look. The word Gospel comes from a Latin word, Evangelicum. It means good or bad news. The only reason I am shouting is not because I am angry. It is because I have to shout. I don't have a microphone. But the Gospel is not bad news. It is good news. But it starts like this. God is just. I have a question. Do you prefer God to be unjust, or do you want a just God? Who wants an unjust and bad God? Someone? No one. God is just. You say, okay. No. The fact that God is just is your biggest problem. Your biggest problem is that God is just. You say, why is that a problem? Why? You are not just. You have sinned. The Bible says, for all who have sinned and are destitute of the glory of God. You have sinned. You don't know. I don't have to spend time trying to convince you that you have sinned. You have sinned. You have lied. You have had bad thoughts. Look. If I could put your life on a DVD And I could give a movie tonight Of every thought you have had. Of every day of your life. You would run from this park and never return. Because you have done things so shameful That you don't want to tell anyone. It is true. I know it is true. Why? The Bible says so. And because I am like you. Now, God is just. And you and I have disobeyed God. The Law of God. Now, the biggest problem in the Scriptures is How can a just God forgive a sinner and still be just? This is the biggest problem in the Bible. I will give you an illustration. Let's say that a criminal kills your family. And you catch him. And you take him to the judge. And the judge says to the man who killed all your family Look, I am a judge of love. That is why I forgive you. You are free. How are you going to respond? You are going to get angry. You are going to scream. You are going to scream. You are going to write to the congressmen, the president, and everyone else Saying that there is a judge that is more corrupt than the criminals that he forgives. If God is just, he has to satisfy his justice. And the only way to do that is by punishing you according to your sins. In hell, that is true. But the Bible says that God is also love. God is love. So God has found a way to satisfy the justice against you. And to save you. It is through his son, Jesus Christ. In the cross, first of all, Jesus Christ is more than a man. Jesus Christ is the eternal son of God. He came to be a man through the incarnation. He was born of the Virgin Mary. He walked on earth. And Jesus Christ lived an absolutely perfect life. But according to the providence of God, he was nailed to a cross. On the cross. Now, think. What happened on the cross? What really happened? Let's listen to Jesus. Jesus said on the cross, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Look at what is happening on the cross. The only son of God is on the cross. And the Father forsakes him. He rejects him. Why? Because when Christ was on the cross, he took our sin. And God is holy. He cannot tolerate sin. So he defiled Jesus on the cross. And all the justice of God that you deserve, and I deserve. This justice fell on Jesus. And when Jesus died, he paid the sin of our sins. And now we can be saved through faith in Jesus. Now, there are many people who are passing by here, who say they believe that the Bible is the word of God. But when a person stands in the middle of the park, preaching the word of God, they think, how strange. How crazy. But it is not crazy if it really is the word of God. Everyone knows, everyone is always saying that Christ is coming soon. But isn't it interesting that no one is getting ready? That all the young people and everyone else is having fun in the park, and they don't even think about the person of Jesus. Look at the hypocrisy that exists. Everyone says that Jesus is the son of God, but they live as if Jesus had never come. Tonight, have you heard the Gospel? That God really loves you and sent his son Jesus. And you can have the forgiveness of your sins, and not only that. You can have a new life. I am here, not because I am religious. I am here because 25 years ago, the Lord changed my life. A horrible life. There are many of you who are looking for money. My family has more. Many of you are looking for fame. I know many who have fame. I can tell you something. You will not find happiness in money. You will not find happiness in morality, in fun. You will find happiness and life only in the person of Jesus Christ. Now, I am going to go down. You don't have to be afraid. I am not as crazy as you think. If you want to learn more, you can come to me, or to anyone else who is here, and I will tell you how Christ can change your life. Thank you. And it costs nothing. Thank you.
